Chapter 547 Almost Gone

The arrow grazed right past Henry's ear, and he clearly heard the whistling sound of it cutting through the air.

He quickly adjusted his position around the tree.

I subconsciously touched my ear...

He knew that the arrows Ye Feng made were likely poisoned, and if even a small wound was caused, the person would be gone.

Fortunately, I wasn't injured, which made me breathe a huge sigh of relief.

"Henry! They're closing in! What do we do!?"

At this moment, Lacey and Rum were hunched over, circling around the tree, their movements visibly frantic.

Henry glanced quickly outside and, upon discovering that it was indeed only Tang Weiwei and herself, his face darkened even further.

Now it's clear that this was a trap set by Ye Feng for him.

He wasn't stupid. The fact that Ye Feng and the others hadn't shown up yet meant that he hadn't completely fallen into their trap.

However, if this drags on any longer, Ye Feng and his group will definitely arrive soon.

At that point, I really won't be able to leave.

"You two! Drop the firewood in your bags! While they're reloading their arrows, run straight to our trap! It'll be safe there!"

The two nodded and immediately began emptying the bag of useless items.

These days, they have collected a lot of firewood and herbs, and also made some wooden shovels to use as tools.

With the ambush plan failing, they had no choice but to abandon their plans and flee for their lives.

Soon, after two more arrows missed their mark, Henry decisively leaped out of the tree trunk.

"Walk!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Reese and Rum quickly followed.

It has to be said that Black people's talent for escaping is practically in their genes.

The forest was already full of trees, and the three of them made their way through the woods. By the time Tang Weiwei and the other woman had nocked their arrows, they had already run more than ten meters ahead.

"Chase!"

Tang Weiwei naturally wouldn't let these people off so easily.

If we don't kill them all this time, who knows what underhanded tricks they might pull next time.

So Henry and his two companions fled frantically, while Tang Weiwei and her companion pursued them relentlessly.

Because the accuracy of shooting arrows while running is extremely low, and with trees everywhere providing cover, the two groups could only chase each other through the forest.

After running for a few minutes, Henry and his two companions successfully ran back to their previous ambush position.

They set the trap, so they naturally knew its location.

Tang Weiwei and Zhan Pengwu were unaware that their opponent was running further and further away. Zhan Pengwu caught up with them, immediately took off his backpack, and quickly gave chase...

Tang Weiwei, however, gradually slowed down her pace.

Because Ye Feng had said beforehand that if they really encountered someone, there was a high probability that a trap had been set up ahead, and the other party had the home-field advantage, so they absolutely could not fight there.

"Wait! There might be a trap ahead!"

"Well!"

He spoke too late; Zhan Pengwu had barely heard it when he stepped into a lasso trap.

Even though his reflexes were quick, the force with which the lasso rebounded was extremely powerful.

Zhan Pengwu immediately did a split on the spot, and then his body began to slide on the grass.

A few seconds later, it was hanging upside down on the top of a tree hidden by vegetation.

The bow and arrows he had just set up fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the tree wasn't very tall; Zhan Pengwu's head was less than two meters off the ground.

But the danger was not over. Henry and Rum, who had been running ahead, suddenly stopped and took the bow and arrows off their necks.

Even from nearly 20 meters away, Tang Weiwei could still clearly see the sinister look on their faces.

It's obvious that the other side is planning a counterattack.

"not good!"

Tang Weiwei immediately dropped her compound bow and backpack and rushed towards Zhan Pengwu in three steps.

The two were not far apart, at most only seven or eight meters apart.

He arrived in front of Zhan Pengwu in less than two seconds…

Meanwhile, Henry and Ressie in the distance had already nocked their arrows.

Tang Weiwei leaped upwards, grabbed Zhan Pengwu's shoulders with both hands, and pulled him down forcefully.

The weight of the two people instantly bent the treetop down, causing it to fall to the ground.

At the same time, two arrows pierced the air from a distance and arrived in front of him in less than half a second.

Just as the two men were falling and before they even touched the ground, the two arrows pierced right through Zhan Pengwu's crotch...

If Tang Weiwei had been even a second slower, those two arrows would probably have pierced Zhan Pengwu's chest.

"Old sly fox!"

Tang Weiwei landed on her back, cursing inwardly.

After releasing his hands, Zhan Pengwu was once again launched into the air.

Ignoring the pain in her back, Tang Weiwei rolled forward and picked up the bow and arrows from the ground.

Since he had already set up the arrows, he immediately assumed a shooting stance with one knee on the ground after regaining his balance.

"Get out of the way!"

Henry reacted just as quickly, and he and Lacy swiftly dodged to the left and right.

The moment they moved, an arrow arrived at the spot where they had been a second before.

"ah!……"

A not-so-loud scream rang out, and the source of the sound was Rum, who was behind.

Although he wasn't completely hit by the arrow, it grazed his left thigh, leaving a wound from which blood was slowly seeping out and gradually wetting his trousers.

Seeing this, Henry, not to be outdone, stood up again and took out another arrow from the quiver in his backpack.

But just as they were about to nock their arrows, they saw seven figures rushing toward them from the woods about a hundred meters away.

He immediately raised an eyebrow. There was no need to think about it; who else could it be but Ye Feng and his group?

"That guy's here! Let's go!"

After saying that, he quickly ran towards an area with more vegetation.

Lacey quickly helped the limping Rum and followed closely behind.

Tang Weiwei really wanted to pursue her, but with the lessons of the past right before his eyes, he dared not gamble with his life.

There's definitely more than one trap here. If I fall into one myself, the other party might just launch a surprise attack.

He could only grit his teeth and watch resentfully as the three old black men disappeared from sight.

Tang Weiwei came up to Zhan Pengwu, pulled him down, and then cut the vines tied to his ankles with a single stroke.

Still shaken, Zhan Pengwu quickly began to check himself; he had just been one step away from death.

After realizing he wasn't injured, he swallowed hard, looking terrified.

"Oh my... Brother Wei, thank you so much, you saved my life again."

"You big idiot!"

Tang Weiwei cursed at him angrily, and then kicked him in the butt.

"I told you to follow my orders, what are you doing running around like that! I can't even stop you when I call you!"

Zhan Pengwu chuckled awkwardly, rubbed his buttocks, and explained:

"I heard that, but we couldn't stop in time. Who knew these bastards would set up this trap?"

I saw them just walk through here and they were fine.

Tang Weiwei became even angrier after hearing this.

"You're such a fucking idiot! They set their own trap, and you still fell for it?!"
