Chapter 7 Grilled Piranha

Piranhas always travel in schools, so you don't need much skill in catching them.

In just a few minutes, Ye Feng had stuck eighteen fish in his shovel...

He actually couldn't finish eating, but the thrill of hunting was so exhilarating that he couldn't help but catch a few more...

He placed all the fish on palm leaves and quickly returned to camp... He planned to have a whole fish feast today to reward himself for his hard work over the past two days.

The withered grass had now dried, and Ye Feng was about to start a fire; he was going to play with Bo Shuai…

He took out a black camera battery, which was somewhat similar to an old mobile phone battery. It was about half the size of his palm, rectangular in shape, and very lightweight.

Ye Feng recalled the steps in his mind... then used the short knife to cut off the strip-shaped electrode head, and then placed the blade horizontally on it...

A miraculous thing happened... With a "sizzle" sound, the battery started to smoke.

The principle is actually very simple, and anyone who has gone through junior high school knows it: place the knife between the positive and negative terminals of the battery.

This will cause a short circuit. And a short circuit can cause sparks...

"Hahaha! It really works! Woohoo!"

Ye Feng shouted excitedly as he slashed open the back of the battery, and sparks immediately began to fly everywhere... instantly igniting the dry grass.

The slowly rising flames were like the hope in Ye Feng's heart.

For survivors in the wild, fire can not only cook food and keep warm, but also drive away mosquitoes and wild animals.

Nothing could be more exhilarating than this…

He gathered some banana leaves and wrapped ten piranhas inside. He then sharpened small sticks, skewered the rest, and placed them beside the fire…

While the tree was baking, he began using a short knife to mark the foundation for the tree...

Since signing up for the program, Ye Feng has spent the next month intensively studying construction knowledge…

He particularly liked the mortise and tenon structure created by the Chinese craftsmen of his ancestors, and now it could finally come in handy…

He first used a light, thin wooden stick as a measuring tool to determine how long of wood to cut for the foundation... and then began to cut down trees all around.

Not far from him, there were many "giant eucalyptus trees".

This tree is not only straight but also very thick and durable, and is usually used by the local indigenous people as a load-bearing pillar for their houses.

It's the perfect place to build a treehouse...

With the help of the steel axe, he chopped down nearly twenty logs, each about the thickness of a calf, in just over an hour…

Ye Feng exerted tremendous effort to drag the logs, each weighing over a hundred pounds, to the camp...

After doing all that, his hands were trembling, and he had no strength left. He sat on the ground, panting heavily...

Before long, a fragrant aroma of meat and a burnt smell wafted over; the fish... was grilled...

He eagerly grabbed a skewer, ignoring the fact that it was too hot to eat, and started gnawing on it...

Although it was a bit burnt, hunger is the most effective seasoning, and the flesh of piranhas is very tender.

This was even more delicious than he had imagined…

After quickly finishing one, Ye Feng opened the roasted banana leaf. This steaming and roasting method better preserved the piranha's integrity...

The meat is much more springy and chewy than grilled fish, and the taste is naturally much better...

In comparison, snake meat is far inferior; it's not only dry and tough, but it also doesn't smell good.

Ye Feng took a few bites and then tossed the food aside...

This was the most abundant and filling meal he had had since arriving in the Amazon; even without any seasoning, he still ate nearly ten fish…

Before long, he patted his belly and lay down on the ground, completely satisfied…

"I wonder if the other challengers will be able to get some meat?"

Thinking of this, Ye Feng raised his hand and looked at the black metal watch on his wrist…

Upon seeing this, he was so stunned that he sat up abruptly...

Because the number on the table has now reached... 1100...

In other words, according to the rules, ten of these people died within two days of arriving in the Amazon…

Ye Feng frowned deeply. He had never underestimated these opponents. He knew that those who volunteered to participate in this game...

In the field of wilderness survival, everyone must have a special skill. I never expected that so many people would die after just one night here.

Amazon, as always, remains the dangerous Amazon…

No one can challenge this primeval forest at will. The reason he has survived to this day is largely due to luck.

He clearly remembered that before going to bed last night, the prize pool was 1050, and overnight it became 1100.

This suggests that the five additional deaths most likely occurred last night…

Of course, it's also possible that only 3 people died, because the reward would be doubled if someone killed them.

Ye Feng looked at the increasingly weak sunlight in the sky, immediately stood up, and thought to himself:

"We absolutely cannot delay any longer!"

After thinking it over, he slung a backpack over his shoulder and headed deeper into the jungle…

He knew that if he relied solely on luck to survive in this place, he would inevitably die a gruesome death sooner or later…

Now we must build a shelter before nightfall, or at least create a basic framework, away from the ground.

Otherwise, even if he had fire now, it would be difficult to guarantee a good night's sleep, as dozens of venomous snakes, insects, rodents, and ants roam this area at night...

There are quite a few that are highly aggressive; if you get attacked by one of them, you might as well just restart the game…

With mixed feelings, Ye Feng spent more than twenty minutes walking to a dense forest in the northwest direction...

Now that the foundation and trunk for building the treehouse are in place, the branches used as paving can be sourced from around the campsite.

What he lacks now are vines to use as ropes and palm leaves to build the roof.

Perhaps he was too impatient; while collecting the vines, Ye Feng failed to notice the pile of leaves two meters to his right...

Hidden within was a small snake with a triangular head, clearly a venomous snake.

At that moment, the venomous snake began to flick its tongue at him and arched its back...

This was clearly an attack stance, but Ye Feng was completely unaware of it. His only thought was to collect enough vines as quickly as possible…

As he continued hacking forward, he got closer and closer to the venomous snake…

With a hiss, the snake suddenly attacked...

Ye Feng immediately sensed something was wrong with his feet and thought to himself, "This is bad."

He quickly pushed aside the vines around him, and when he saw the snake's appearance, his eyebrows almost touched his forehead. At that moment, he felt a chill run down his spine.

"It's over..."

He recognized the snake; it was called a pit viper, which Chinese people usually call the five-step snake.

This is a venomous snake even more poisonous than a cobra... A few minutes after being bitten, you will experience intense cutting pain.

Immediately afterwards, the affected area will swell rapidly, eventually leading to rhabdomyolysis, a gruesome and agonizing death…

However, this type of snake generally inhabits Asia and is rarely seen in the Amazon.

"Could it have been aired by the production team?"

Ye Feng didn't have time to think. He quickly took two steps back and grabbed the vine, intending to wrap it around his ankle...

If you try to treat the venom before it spreads to other parts of your body, you might still be able to survive...
