Sitting ten meters away from the cave entrance, Xu Xin held Coco in his arms, quietly waiting for the red gas to dissipate.

It’s not that he didn’t want to go in, it’s just that the smell was simply unbearable for a human.

After all, the cave was not ventilated, so it was unrealistic to expect the gas to completely dissipate. This was already the best possible outcome. Xu Xin sighed and asked Keke, "Are you still coming down with me?"

Coco's body stiffened, and after hesitating for a moment, she nodded her head and jumped onto Xu Xin's shoulder.

This little guy. Xu Xin touched its head, tied the clothes around its face, gritted his teeth, and entered the cave.

There was a faint red color floating in the passage inside the cave, but Xu Xin was surprised to find that the red gas did not fill the entire passage, but was only floating in the upper part of the cave.

He tried bending down, and sure enough, although the air below still had a strange stench, it was within his tolerance.

"It seems that this strange gas is lighter than air. This makes it easy. The foul-smelling gas in the iron door should have dissipated!" Xu Xin bent over and moved forward in the cave, and quickly reached the location of the opened underground iron door.

Looking inside, there was a square iron passage that was only wide enough for one person to go up and down. There was an iron ladder fixed on the wall of the passage, and it was unknown how deep it was.

The ladder was also covered in rust. Xu Xin felt a little scared looking at the passage, but he still stepped on the ladder and began to climb down.

The passage was long, and Xu Xin climbed step by step. The only sounds in the well-like passage were his footsteps and the occasional whimpering of Coco on his shoulder.

The little guy was also a little scared, and he held on to the clothes on his shoulders tightly with his limbs, for fear that he would fall down accidentally.

"This passage is too long! I'm not really going underground!"

The passage was so long that Xu Xin felt his arms trembling. But there was nothing he could do. He had already climbed halfway and couldn't give up and climb up again.

Continue to climb down.

He didn't know how long he climbed, but just when Xu Xin felt he was about to lose hold of the ladder, he finally entered a room.

After climbing down about four or five meters, Xu Xin had already stepped on the ground.

"Finally made it!" Xu Xin stood on the ground, kneading the muscles on his arms with his hands crossed. "Such a long iron tunnel must have consumed so much iron!"

While muttering, Xu Xin turned around and began to look around. However, the first sight made his pupils shrink suddenly and he took a breath.

The entire room was empty. Three of the four walls were made of standard iron plates, and there was not even a window. Only on one wall was there a door that looked very thick and solid. The door was round, a bit like the door of a vault.

The first thing he saw was a human-shaped skeleton in tattered clothes leaning against the wall.

“Someone has been here before!”

Xu Xin was a little shocked. Deep underground in this desolate place, there was an underground room that looked like a vault, but in this room, there was actually a skeleton!

Who is he? Could he be a survivor from the past? Or a native of this world?

Xu Xin looked at his clothes carefully. Although they were very tattered for some reason, he could still tell that they were standard wilderness survival outfits.

Walking forward, Xu Xin saw a dirty package placed next to the skeleton. The package was made of animal skin. No one knew how long it had been placed underground. Most of the skin of the package had fallen off, and it looked extremely shabby.

"Sorry to bother you, brother." Xu Xin muttered to himself and opened the package.

There was a musty smell in the animal skin package.

The things inside were quite mixed, so Xu Xin poured out everything in the package and began to count what was inside.

"A completely rusted and falling apart multi-purpose knife, an empty lighter, and a small flashlight—these are all tools from Earth! This person must have come out to survive in the wilderness, to have such a complete range of tools," Xu Xin muttered to himself. "But the question is, why would someone bring Earthly tools to this world?"

Coco jumped down from his shoulders and scratched at the things with her little paws.

There are even packages of empty compressed biscuits in here.

He picked up the lighter and flashlight. Although the writing on them was a little blurred and the surface of the flashlight was even cracked, Xu Xin could still see the name and logo engraved on the surface of the product, which were words he could not understand.

He had some exposure to European writing, and this alphabet was probably Greek.

He picked up the package of compressed biscuits again. Although he still couldn't understand the words on the package, he could still see the vague production date on it, which was April 1980.

The shelf life of ordinary compressed biscuits is only about three years. If the compressed biscuits this person ate were not expired, it means that he has been dead for at least 40 years!

40 years ago, someone had already come to this world!
