When a terrifying countdown engulfs the globe, the game named "Divine Court Technology" descends upon the world. Su Deng, who yearns only for death and has inexplicably gained a son from th...
Looking at the bride now, Su Deng felt as if she were looking in a mirror.
But the woman in the mirror was even more radiant and alluring.
While Su Deng was still in a daze, she moved the rooster and the memorial tablet aside. The moment the bride's gaze fell on her face, she suddenly let out a sobbing cry.
“Wuwuwuwu——”
She sat there, her two beautiful eyes, painted with light red eyeliner, looking at Su Deng, and the tears she shed were actually blood.
Two lines of bloody tears overflowed from her eyes and slid down her cheeks. Her sorrowful gaze made Su Deng's heart ache for no reason.
“Wuwuwu…”
The bride cried even harder, but her eyes remained fixed on her, blood-red tears streaming down her face.
"Crack..."
As the bride cried even harder, the memorial tablet still in Su Deng's hand suddenly split in two and fell to the ground.
This memorial tablet originally had a name written on it, but now that it has broken, all the words on it are gone.
Meanwhile, the rooster in her other hand broke free from her grasp, jumped to the ground, flapped its wings, and crowed loudly.
"Coo coo coo ooh ooh..."
The bride, who looked exactly like Su Deng, kept staring at Su Deng while sobbing, tears of blood spreading from her face to her neck.
Su Deng felt a sharp pain in her heart. She clutched her chest and staggered back, leaning against the table. She felt a warm, wet sensation on her face.
She raised her hand to wipe her face and saw that her hands were covered in blood!
Su Deng's pupils contracted sharply, and she rushed to the bronze mirror on the dressing table in the room. Blood tears were automatically flowing from her eyes in the mirror!
But she didn't cry at all, and she couldn't feel any tears. She just watched the hot, bloody tears flow from her eyes.
Su Deng desperately raised her hand to wipe, but she couldn't wipe it all away. Even with her eyes closed, she couldn't stop the tears of blood from flowing out.
As she wiped, she glanced at the bronze mirror out of the corner of her eye and noticed that her face was changing, transforming into the face of the bride on the bed.
Blush, foundation, eyeliner, and even bright red lips, and even the clothes on her body, all began to turn red.
Su Deng's subconscious was telling her that she was being used as a substitute bride, and that she was becoming the bride.
Without thinking, she turned and ran towards the door.
"system?"
"404?"
She called out quickly, but no one came out.
She opened the game control panel as she ran.
Before she could even look at anything, she felt dizzy and ran forward. The last thing she saw was the health bar in the game instance.
It dropped from 99 at a rapid pace of 20 per second.
Just moments before she lost consciousness, she saw her health points drop to 1.
After an unknown amount of time, Su Deng opened her eyes amidst a jolt. All she could see was a dark red color, and all she could hear was the piercing sound of a suona horn, seemingly playing the tune of "Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix."
Su Deng stared blankly, then slightly pulled back the covering to reveal a red veil embroidered with two mandarin ducks.
She was sitting in a luxurious red sedan chair, wearing a bright red wedding dress, and her fingernails were neatly trimmed and red.
She lifted the curtain of the sedan chair and saw a dim forest outside, with a thin mist floating in the forest and pale blue will-o'-the-wisps dancing and floating in the forest.
A donkey followed beside the sedan chair, and an old woman rode on its back. The old woman was dressed in dark red clothes, wore a black headband, and had a large black mole on the corner of her mouth.
The sedan chair bearers seemed to be hopping along, and the sedan chair swayed violently, making her sway unsteadily inside.
After passing through the woods, we crossed a bridge.
The stream gurgles under the bridge, and there's a village on the other side of the bridge. Under the night sky, the whole village is bathed in red light.
In the village square, tables and chairs were neatly arranged, and villagers dressed in red stood there, seemingly welcoming the bridal sedan chair.
As the bridal sedan chair reached the square, the matchmaker, who had been riding a donkey, dismounted first and walked to the front of the procession, shouting in a shrill voice, "Lower the sedan chair!"
The sedan chair landed on the ground, and a girl appeared at the door. She lifted the curtain, extended a hand, and whispered, "Please, bride, alight from the sedan chair."
The red veil was put back on her head, and Su Deng stretched out her slender white hand, placed it in hers, and slowly got up from the sedan chair and walked down.
There were hundreds of people around, but it was so quiet that you couldn't hear them breathing. All you could see from under the veil were feet on both sides, and the ground beneath your feet was all red.
The bride was helped onto the stage, and the matchmaker announced, "Please invite the groom."
The "bride" under the veil could not see the face of the person opposite her. She could only see two pairs of feet in front of her, and two children stood on one side, binding them together with red silk.
One bow, two bows... up to nine bows, she followed the prayers like a walking corpse, bowing and performing the wedding ceremony in all directions.
After the ceremony, they entered the bridal chamber.
The matchmaker shouted all the way, and the "bride" was led to the main room of a house in the middle of the village.
The wedding attendant followed the custom and circled the room to press down on the bed. The "bride" was helped to sit on the bed covered with a bright red wedding quilt. Through the gap under the veil, she could see someone placing a large rooster on the bed next to her.
After the matchmaker chanted a few more auspicious words, she led everyone away to begin the feast. The door to the room was closed, and the room fell into silence, with only the occasional crackling sound of burning wax.
After an unknown amount of time, a faint sound of a door opening was heard, as if someone was walking in from outside.
The man walked straight to the bedside, bent down and crawled on the floor, pulling out a pair of red embroidered shoes from under the bed. These were the shoes the "bride" had lost sometime during the night.
Under the veil, one could see a person dressed in black lying by the bed, but he seemed to be deliberately turning to the side so that his face could not be seen.
