Seven years ago, timeline.
Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...
Deba Yuichiro hadn't expected to be publicly called out. Feeling everyone's gaze focused on him, he wiped the sweat from his cheeks with his handkerchief and replied with a wry smile:
"Officer Ying Si, what do you mean by that? How can I know whether you are sure or not?"
"As the murderer of Makoto Makabe, didn't you know it from the beginning?" Fujiwara Yu put his hands on his waist, staring at Isamu Deba with interest for a while, then murmured.
The murderer? Teacher Deba is actually the murderer?!
The words made Sakuragi Ruriko and the others' expressions change. They had never imagined that the murderer would be the seemingly timid Yuichiro. After all, they had all taken Mr. Chang's Chinese class and knew his gentle temper. How could such a person be the murderer?
Deba Yuichiro's face turned grim. He forced himself to steady himself, his toes subconsciously pointing towards the door. He managed a half-forced smile and said,
"Officer Ying Si, please stop joking. I can't stand your jokes at my age!"
"I'm not kidding. I already knew you were the murderer the moment you showed up. You were the only one who had the time to pull off that rather clever trick on the second floor, so I was trying to figure out what could have made you do such a thing. Now I've figured it out."
Fujiwara Yu walked slowly towards the wall where the bookshelves were placed. He stared at the poster with Makoto Makabe's photo on the wall for a while, then turned around and looked at Toba Isamu, who had a look of horror on his face.
The effect of scaring him has already taken effect, and now it is time to expose the crime.
Fujiwara Yuu tore down the entire poster without any hesitation. In the cracked wall, a skeleton-like body appeared. The empty skull seemed to be staring into the abyss, staring at the culprit who brutally killed him and stuffed him into the wall.
“Ahh!
”
Mao Lilan and Suzuki Sonoko were so frightened that they hugged each other. They had never imagined that there would be bones in the old teaching building. They looked at each other with a wry smile, and they could see the helplessness in each other's eyes. Tonight was probably going to be a sleepless night.
Sakuragi Ruriko looked at the skeleton hidden in the wall in surprise. She thought of the secret code left by Makabe Makoto and asked:
"Officer Takashi, could this be the meaning of the code Makabe left behind?"
"That's right. If we just decipher it using romanization, we'll get the sentence 'skeletons hidden in the wall.'" Fujiwara Yuu glanced at Takashima Tomoyo, who showed no fear at all, and said bluntly, "He most likely discovered this by accident and was killed."
"But Officer Takashi, how could there be such a thing in the school? Whose skeleton is this?!" Onoue Takahiro frowned in confusion. He had been in the mystery novel research club for so long, but he had never discovered such a secret hidden in the wall.
Fujiwara Yuu couldn't help but hesitate after hearing this. He silently moved to the side of Ichiro Deiba and chose to tell the truth:
"Teitan High School hides a huge secret. Fifty years ago, the school was located on the site of a research institute established by a company called Takahata Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which was mainly engaged in the research and development of new drugs.
It was around the 1930s, a time when dangerous side effects of pharmaceuticals were a problem. According to available information, several subjects who had volunteered for experiments at Takahata Pharmaceuticals went missing during the company's research and development of a new drug.
In that era, many people chose to sell their bodies due to poverty, but unfortunately, the experiment must have ended in failure. This sudden accident made the researchers panic. If this matter were to spread to the public, it would be a fatal blow to Takahata Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., so in order to prevent the truth from being made public, they hid the six bodies in this old school building.
Six bodies?!
Suzuki Sonoko felt like her jaw almost dropped to the floor. She never imagined that the old teaching building of Teitan High School had such a story. Thinking about how she would report to the mystery novel research club from time to time, goose bumps suddenly appeared on her arms.
Sakuragi Ruriko and the others also looked unhappy. These reasoning enthusiasts often spent hours in the club room. Wouldn't that mean they were surrounded by skeletons every day? It was too creepy.
Mashiba Kenzo's expression suddenly dawned on him when he heard this. He turned his head to look at Ichiro Deiba, tossing the handcuffs around while laughing:
"I see. So, you were the one who sent the threatening letter to the principal, right? You knew that once the old teaching building was demolished, the seven bodies hidden there would be revealed to the world, and your crimes would be completely exposed."
"But the number of bodies doesn't add up, does it?" Sakuragi Ruriko pointed to the skeletons hidden in the wall and asked curiously, "Officer Takashi, you just said that there are six missing test subjects. So whose body is this seventh?"
"It's my daughter."
“?!”
After keeping his head down and remaining silent for a long time, Aoyama Ryozo slowly raised his head. With red eyes, he looked at his daughter who had turned into bones, and said in a trembling voice:
"She is my daughter, Chihiro Aoyama."
"But Mr. Tachibana, you...that's not right. Could it be that Tachibana's last name is fake?" Sakuragi Ruriko reacted very quickly and soon discovered a possibility, exclaiming.
Ryozo Aoyama did not intend to hide the fact that he was lurking in this school just to find his daughter. Now that he has found his daughter and the murderer, there is only one thing he has to do - that is to avenge his daughter.
