Seven years ago, timeline.
Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...
The shooting range was suddenly filled with the sound of gunfire. Standing at shooting position number seven, Fujiwara Yu had calmed down and blocked out all the sounds around him, as if he had entered his own world.
He aimed at the center circle of the target; that was his only goal. After calculating the designed position, he fired five shots in a row without hesitation. The recoil made his shoulders a little sore, but fortunately the result was very good.
"Hey, Fujiwara-chan, did you secretly sign up for a shooting club? Hitting the bull's eye with all five shots is impressive!" Hagiwara Kenji teased, yet at the same time, he didn't forget to put pressure on Rei Furuya, who was standing behind Fujiwara. He said with a raised voice, "Furuya-chan, you better keep up the good work. I'm betting twenty sticks on you, Fujiwara-chan! If you don't work hard and lose, I'll lose everything."
Furiya Rei stared speechlessly, wondering why he and Fujiwara had become the betting targets again. Before he could even say anything to retort, Onizuka Hachizo, who was standing behind them, could no longer sit still and roared:
"This is shooting practice! How can you be so giggly? Hagiwara, your passing score has been raised to 80 rings. If you're one ring short, run laps around the playground!"
Hagiwara Kenji was taken aback, his brows furrowed in confusion. "How could Instructor Onizuka walk so quietly?" he asked. A resentful glance drifted towards Furuya Rei, who had noticed all this but hadn't warned him. "Oh, I really don't have any love from my classmates!"
"Fujiwara, you have a pretty good feel. But you have to remember that there are always better people. One of your predecessors got a perfect score on his first test, a shooting genius who hit all twenty bullets!"
Fujiwara Yuu raised a slightly surprised brow at Instructor Onizuka's words. Shooting wasn't that simple, and achieving such a high score in a test shot truly qualifies him as a genius. He knew full well that his ability to achieve this level was due to his childhood training in Kyudo, so the senior who never missed a shot was the true shooting genius.
After hearing this, Date Ko, who was slightly weak in shooting, turned around excitedly and asked:
"Instructor, that genius you just mentioned is now shining brightly in the Investigation Division. He must be a very outstanding detective, right?"
Onizuka Yazo thought of the "genius shooter" who had given Investigation Section 1 a headache, and he helplessly lowered the brim of his hat, his face looking a little embarrassed, and slowly said:
"Not really. He's already resigned and seems to have opened a detective agency in Beika-cho now."
Everyone was quite surprised to hear this. There are actually people who would give up their iron rice bowl as police officers and choose to be private detectives. You know, private detectives are a gray profession that cannot be made public.
Moreover, today's detectives are different from those in TV dramas or anime. Their usual job is to investigate extramarital affairs and they often don't take on criminal cases. In order to protect their personal safety, they will not even take the initiative to get involved in public prosecution cases.
Fujiwara Yu tilted his head, and he suddenly remembered that the world he was in was called "Detective Conan", so the status of detectives in this world was very high?
If he's so high, why haven't I found a detective named Edogawa Conan yet? Could it be that he really hasn't been born yet?
It's better not to dwell on things you don't understand during shooting training. He calmed down again, raised his hand and looked at the target in front of him, and shot again after hearing the shooting order given by Instructor Onizuka.
“Tsk.”
Forty-nine rings. The last shot was a pity because the muzzle vibration was not controlled well, resulting in the trajectory being biased upwards and not within the ten-ring range.
After four rounds of shooting, with the two best scores taken from each group, Fujiwara Yuu still passed the first shooting training test with a perfect score of 100 rings. He reached out and high-fived Furuya Rei, then smiled and said:
"come on."
"Yes, I will."
After finishing the practice, Fujiwara Yu was a little bored, so he simply looked around to see the shooting level of the people participating in the second round of the test. In the first round of shooting, Furuya Zero also scored a good score of fifty rings.
As for Kenji Hagiwara, who was under even more pressure, he sighed helplessly after firing five shots. Aside from the first shot, which hit the ninth ring, the remaining four shots were like runaway children, drifting further and further away, resulting in a combined score of only thirty rings.
After seeing this, Onizuka Hachizo couldn't help but remind him:
"Hagiwara, if you don't adjust your mindset, you'll have to prepare to run laps."
"Hey, instructor, you're really not cute at all. You don't even try to comfort me at a time like this, and you even remind me what the punishment is. You're really devoid of humanity."
Onizuka Hachizo rolled his eyes and walked aside, not wanting to engage in verbal exchanges with Hagiwara at all.
Fujiwara Yuu looked away at Matsuda Jinpei standing beside him, only to find the target spotless without a single bullet hole. Puzzled, he stepped forward and asked:
"Matsuda, the first round of shooting is over, why haven't you fired yet?"
"You nagging foreigner! Can't you see that I missed all the targets?" Matsuda Jinpei himself was speechless, but he was sure that the problem was not with his shooting skills, but with the revolver in his hand.
"What's wrong, Matsuda? You usually love fighting, but are you having trouble with shooting?" Onizuka Hachizo teased from behind. It was not easy to find a chance to rebuke Matsuda, so he naturally would not give up this opportunity.
"Are you sure this gun hasn't been dropped? Revolvers are the most vulnerable to drops." Matsuda Jinpei frowned speechlessly after hearing this. He pushed the gun's frame forward and squinted his eyes. "Could it be that the revolver positioner is broken?"
