Seven years ago, timeline.
Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...
Acting, actor, condescending.
When Naito Tatsuji heard the police describe him with these six words, his mind instantly became confused and beads of sweat rolled down his forehead. He didn't even dare to look up to face the gazes of the others.
Maybe surprise, suspicion, or confusion.
He didn't know where to put his hands, and finally he pulled up the seam of his trouser legs tightly, slowly raised his head to meet those ultramarine eyes. The moment their gazes met, the excuse he had finally thought of got stuck in his throat and he couldn't utter it.
Naito Tatsuji has been able to read other people's expressions since he was a child, so he naturally realized that the young policeman in front of him already had the key evidence to convict him. Continuing to defend himself would only make him look like a circus clown.
He took a deep breath and let it out. Relaxed, he was able to straighten his back and asked:
"Mr. Officer, how do you know the murderer is me?"
Fujiwara Yu was a little surprised when these words came out. He didn't expect Naito to admit it so quickly. He hadn't even started performing yet, so why was the other leading actor refusing to cooperate with him and angrily throwing the script?
Yin Dahang and Xiao Songxiang were also a little puzzled. Wouldn’t the knives they looted from the kitchen be of no use?
Yoshioka Ryohei, who was originally clamoring to beat him up, froze in his tracks. He finally digested this enormous amount of information, stared at Naito with wide eyes, and loudly demanded:
"Naito, are you crazy? What nonsense are you talking about? First you went to the police to report me, and now what are you talking about? What are you admitting? You can't even touch raw meat, and you killed someone? You must be kidding me!"
"Yes, Dashi, have you been threatened? The police here are all good policemen, they will definitely help you!" Junko Miyagawa reached out and grabbed Naito's arm. She couldn't believe that Naito, who was usually very gentle to everyone, would kill the store manager in such a cruel way.
Naito Tatsushi curled his lips in a bitter smile. He knew he couldn't escape legal punishment, but at least he couldn't let the girl he loved hold out hope for such a shameless him. He slowly pulled his right hand free from Miyakawa's grasp, and, changing his gentle demeanor, said coldly:
"You don't think you know me very well, do you? Haha, I was the one who killed the store manager because he deserved to die. He cheated me out of all my savings and now my sister doesn't even have money for surgery!
”
By the end, his handsome face was twisted, and the bulging veins on his neck betrayed his anger. He seemed to have found an outlet and began to accuse Tezuka Hiroki of his crimes.
Seven years ago, an accident caused Tatsuji Naito and his sister Hiromi Naito to lose their parents. Tatsuji Naito, who had just become an adult, chose to drop out of school to support his sister. However, the good times did not last long. Just three years ago, his nine-year-old sister was diagnosed with uremia, which made the already poor family even worse.
However, Naito Tatsushi did not give up on life. He worked hard for his sister and asked his attending doctor to help find a matching kidney donor. Just half a month ago, the attending doctor successfully found a kidney donor that matched Naito Hiromi. This should have been a happy thing, but Naito Tatsushi did not expect that he could not afford the high cost of the surgery.
"It's not that I can't afford it, it's that I lent that damn scumbag the surgery money!" Naito Tatsushi stared at his toes with bloodshot eyes, his tone filled with resentment. "Just three months ago, he came to me and told me that he wouldn't be able to pay me for a short period of time. He said I could quit immediately if I wanted to... I saw he looked so worried, so I asked if something important had happened. Guess what he told me?"
Yin Dahang touched his chin, guessed the direction of the gambler's lie, and said:
"Someone in my family is sick and needs money urgently, so I can't pay salaries for the time being?"
"Officer, you're quite clever! That's exactly what he told me. He said his mother was seriously ill and was still trying to save for medical expenses and surgery. At the time, I felt that my situation was very similar to his, so I said it wouldn't be too late to ask for his salary once he got through the difficult times. But what I didn't expect was that he suddenly asked me to borrow 1 million yen, which was a huge sum of money for me."
What happened next was pretty much what everyone expected.
The victim, Hiroki Tezuka, deceived the honest and upright Naito Tatsuji by claiming that his mother was sick. He borrowed one million yen and invested it all in small steel balls. Not only did he lose it all, but he also did not repent and used the same method to gain sympathy from others again, and lost all the money he had defrauded.
He had no ability to repay the money at all, and even squandered all the cash flow in the store every month. Otherwise, he would not have fallen to the point where he could not even pay Yoshioka Ryohei's salary.
"After finding a kidney donor, I approached him several times, but he was adamant, saying his mother needed money and he had no money. His excuses kept me from asking again... But then, by chance, I ran into him walking into the pachinko parlor while buying a discounted bento at the supermarket. At first, I thought I was seeing things, but when I asked the pachinko staff, I realized he was a regular there."
Naito Tatsushi pulled the corners of his mouth weakly, forcing an unpleasant smile. He looked around, taking in the sympathy in everyone's eyes, and after a long while, he said calmly:
"That's when I heard the world collapsing. I realized how stupid I was. I wanted to collect evidence to force him to pay back the money, but my sister's doctor told me that the kidney had been taken away by another patient."
He painfully recounted how he had begged desperately, but kidneys wouldn't wait. His sister hadn't been able to afford the kidney she'd waited three years for, and the biggest reason she couldn't pay was none other than Hiroki Tezuka.
