Seven years ago, timeline.
Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...
It was during rush hour when a car parked temporarily at the entrance of an alley near the Metropolitan Police Department.
A black Toyota Crown with a temporary license plate with a red slash mark was parked at the entrance of the alley, and it showed no sign of leaving, as if waiting for someone. The windows were covered with black anti-peep film, making it impossible to see clearly inside from the side.
Fujiwara Yu, who came out of the Metropolitan Police Department, dared to go to the alley entrance only after making sure that no one was following him. He did not let down his guard until he reached the car. Until the driver's door was opened, Yin Zhiwuwo, who was wearing a black suit, nodded politely to him, took out a cigarette case and pretended to smoke and left tactfully.
Fujiwara Yu was a little surprised when he saw Yin Zhiwuwo. He opened the back door of the car and got in. When he saw the man with a bandage on his face leaning on the seat, he said respectfully:
"Mr. Kuroda, isn't this meeting a bit too sudden? Did something happen?"
The right half of his face was wrapped in bandages, just like when we first met. His black hair had turned silver-gray with age, but the owner of the hair had no intention of dyeing it black. Perhaps he had no intention of tinkering with his hair style after the burn.
His name is Kuroda Beiwei, and he is affiliated with the Security Planning Division of the Security Bureau of the National Police Agency. He was injured in a case and became what he is today, and he is still in the recovery period.
However, not many people know that he has awakened... It may be that the police department wants to protect him, or it may be that he wants to hide in the dark and show up at the right time.
Fujiwara Yuu knew Kuroda Heibei because of his father. Six years ago, he cracked the address left by his father and successfully met Kuroda Heibei who had been waiting for him at the airport.
In just ten minutes, he was recruited into the police department without leaving any identifying information.
As for why he joined the CIA, it was entirely to investigate undercover agents hidden within the CIA, a move tacitly approved by the current CIA director, Kenny Hillenkot. Furthermore, the CIA and the National Police Agency had jointly established a secret investigation team, led by Kuroda Heibei, who was specifically responsible for coordinating the team's tasks.
This is also one of the reasons why he was able to become a Metropolitan Police Department police officer as a CIA agent. Izumitani Toru is also the person who knows the true identity of Fujiwara Yu. On the surface, his position is higher than that of Kuroda Heibei, but in the secret investigation team, he is Kuroda's subordinate.
The ultimate goal of the secret investigation team is naturally to destroy the organization. Before the mission is completed, no one can disclose confidential information... This is also the reason why there are so few members in the team.
Even group members may not know each other's behavior.
Kuroda Heibei raised his hand and pointed at the document bag beside him. He said in a deep voice:
"There's news from Scotland that Itakura Taku's mental state has been severely damaged by the organization, and I'm afraid he'll soon agree to cooperate with the organization. So I plan to arrange for you to go infiltrate and investigate."
"Why not just send Scotland?" Fujiwara Yu asked, somewhat puzzled. Wouldn't it be more convenient to let Morifushi Kagemitsu take charge? He'd been in charge of Itakura Taku's mission recently, so it would be more convenient for him to report directly if he learned anything.
"It might involve the organization's core secrets. Scotland doesn't have the authority to know the secrets yet, so he and the member codenamed Tequila have been sent to perform other tasks."
So that's how it is. No wonder they arranged for me to go.
After Fujiwara Yu took out the contents of the file bag and examined them carefully, he found that they contained some of Itakura Taku's life trajectories, which were recorded in great detail, making it easier for him to sneak in and investigate.
He folded up all the useful information and put it in his suit pocket, smiling slightly.
"Mr. Kuroda, if there's nothing else, I'll be leaving first. It's not appropriate to be away from my post for too long."
"Wait a moment, there's one more thing I need to tell you."
"What?"
"I've already told your identity to the other members of the secret investigation team. If you have the chance, you should get in touch with the key card hidden in the organization."
The key card hidden in the organization is an undercover agent carefully trained by his father. Even the only one who knows the identity of the key card is Fujiwara Yu himself, and even Kuroda Hei only knows this matter.
Fujiwara Yu, who had never seen the key card, didn't know how to approach him. At least it wasn't the right time yet. He nodded and replied:
"Well, when the time is right, I will."
"Has anyone from the CIA suspected you recently? Or...is that agent named White a surveillance agent placed by their team next to you?" Kuroda Bei adjusted himself to a comfortable sitting position and asked.
Fujiwara Yu shook his head. He didn't think that White was responsible for monitoring him. If that were the case, his identity would have been exposed to the undercover agent hidden in the CIA long ago.
The reason why he trusted White was because he had commissioned Yinsen Bentang to investigate the process of White's entry into the CIA. He knew how many people he had contacted during that period, so he was sure that White's identity was clean.
Because not many people knew his father's identity at that time, the undercover agent hiding in the CIA definitely had a certain say, and he was a lone wolf, so he would not easily move out without solid evidence.
"Well, it would be best if he wasn't." Kurodabei looked at his watch and said slowly, "It's almost time. Return to your post."
"Yes, Mr. Kuroda."
Fujiwara Yu bowed to Kuroda Heibei and pushed the door open to leave. As he walked towards the Metropolitan Police Department, he was thinking about what time tonight he would sneak into Itakura Taku's suburban villa.
