Seven years ago, timeline.
Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...
"Can you tell the truth to me now?"
For Shinji Akashi, that was a scene he didn't want to recall, but his mother had told him that one must be honest and trustworthy and not lie to others, otherwise no one would want to be friends with him in the future, and no one would like a liar.
But his father is different. He expects him to lie to his police brother, but... should he really lie?
I thought of the scene I saw late at night, the blood-stained golden trophy, and my father's crazy eyes.
That look seemed to want to eat me alive. This wasn't the first time I'd seen my father with that expression. Once, when I didn't want to go home with my father and insisted on living with my mother, he had the same expression when he beat me with a belt.
A book friend I've known for ten years recommended Yeguo Reading to me. It's so damn useful! I use it to pass the time, even while driving or before bed, listening to books aloud. You can download it here.yeguoyuedu
"...I, I don't want to be beaten, I didn't take it!"
Shinji Akashi lowered his head even lower. Thinking of the pain of the belt hitting his body, he was scared and wanted to turn around and run away, but he didn't expect that his wrist was held by the policeman. How could he succeed in breaking free?
Fujiwara Yuu naturally wouldn't let him go, because he'd heard the key words "I didn't take it," which reminded him of the murder weapon that had vanished from the crime scene. So, he made a bold guess, reaching out to lift Shinji's shirt from his back. His eyes were met with a startling, long, narrow scar—likely the mark left by a belt whipping.
The trophy that served as the murder weapon was brought back home by Otsuka Shinji, but was accidentally hidden by Akashi Shinji who was not asleep. So when Otsuka Shinji found out that the trophy was missing, he immediately beat his own son to force him to confess.
Did he really not take it? The answer is no.
When Shinji Akashi said this, his eyes were evasive, and even his hands made small movements, which were all evidence of lying - this also meant that the murder weapon was hidden by this child, and as long as the murder weapon was obtained, Shinji Otsuka would confess his guilt.
"Shinji, do you love your mother? I love my mother very much, but I can no longer see her."
Fujiwara Yuu usually doesn't use emotional appeals to get people to side with him, but when it comes to solving cases, he still has to use some tricks wherever he can. He has to find a way to get Shinji to talk, so that he can help Akashi Mari catch her daughter's murderer and let Akashi Hoko pass away with some peace of mind.
When Shinji Akashi heard the word "Mom", his body trembled violently. He kept twisting his fingers like a child who had done something wrong. It could be seen that there was guilt hidden in his nervousness and fear.
"I love my mom, but I'm afraid of my dad. I won't lie...my dad will beat my mom."
Fujiwara Yu was stunned for a moment after hearing this. He thought of the scene when he came here, why he hid the trophy, and why he was unwilling to tell the truth when he was beaten.
Is that what is happening?
He withdrew his hand, pursed his lips for a few seconds, and then slowly spoke:
"Shinji, your father won't hit you or your mother if your brother is around, so can you tell your brother where you hid the trophy?"
"Really?"
"Well, I promise you."
"I hid the trophy in Mr. Dinosaur's stomach."
Bang!
!
Suddenly, there was a crashing sound in the room on the west side of the second floor, followed by the sound of fragile objects breaking. Thinking that Otsuka Shinji went upstairs to get a toy, he might have noticed the trophy hidden inside the dinosaur toy!
Oh no, Otaki-senpai is in danger.
Realizing this, Fujiwara Yu hurried to the second floor and heard the argument between the two through the door. He kicked the door open and saw the seemingly weak Otsuka Shinji with a ferocious face strangling Otaki Goro's neck, with blood flowing from the latter's forehead.
The object that fell to the floor was the blood-stained murder weapon—the karate championship trophy.
"senior!"
Fujiwara Yu quickly stepped forward and grabbed the back of Otsuka Shinji's collar. Seeing that he was unwilling to let go, he did not hide his karate skills. His left hand was condensed into a knife-hand posture and pressed directly against the opponent's waist. This blow might damage the opponent's kidneys.
“Ugh!
”
If the hand knife had not retracted 30% of its force when it fell, Otsuka Shinji would probably not even have the chance to scream and would have fallen to the ground and fainted from the pain.
"Otaki-senpai, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Please save the trophy quickly. It's crucial evidence."
Fujiwara Yu possessed considerable medical knowledge and clinical experience, so how could he not see that his senior was showing off? He crouched down, handcuffed the screaming Otsuka Shinji, and then immediately removed his suit, wrapped up the blood-stained trophy, and thrust it into his senior's hands.
He supported Otaki Goro with one hand and dragged Otaki Shinji, who was lying on the ground in pain and unwilling to get up, down the stairs with the other hand - so much so that Otsuka Shinji kept making hoarse roars as he went downstairs. Who told him not to get up?
Shinji Akashi hid behind the sofa and half of his head stuck out. He was not afraid because of the way his father was treated by the police brother. Instead, he followed the police car, his eyes always on the trophy wrapped in a suit jacket in Otaki Goro's arms.
"elder brother!"
After handing the murderer over to the officer waiting beside the police car, Fujiwara Yuu turned back to look at Akashi Shinji, who had run out in slippers. He stuffed the pineapple-flavored candy that the boy had not accepted into his hand and said softly:
