Seven years ago, timeline.
Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...
"Little Fujiwara, Little Morobushi, what are you two looking at? Come on, hurry up and catch up!"
Upon hearing this, Zhu Fujingguang frowned and looked at the two people not far away. He pointed at the flashing convenience store sign and said worriedly:
"No, come over here and look! The lights on the convenience store sign across the street are flashing like Morse code!"
Fujiwara Yu had already interpreted this as an "SOS" distress signal, and he looked directly at the three people for their opinions:
"What are you going to do? Report the information to Instructor Onizuka, or go to the previous koban and report the situation to them?"
"I think we should go to the area around the convenience store first to investigate what's going on, or at least find out what's going on inside. If there are a lot of hostages inside, letting the police act rashly may cause irreversible consequences." Zhu Fujingguang suggested. He had a vague feeling that the person who came up with the idea of using Morse code to transmit messages was Zero, which was the decryption game they often played when they were young.
But he didn't quite understand why Zero was in the convenience store. Didn't he say he wanted to rest in the dormitory?
"Mr. Jing's idea is very good. Let's use this method." Matsuda Jinpei gave a thumbs up and agreed with a smile.
Master Jing.
The corners of Morofushi Kagemitsu's mouth twitched slightly when he heard this name. He really didn't know how Matsuda came up with this nickname. Did he look like the head of a wealthy family?
According to Jingguang's plan, the four of them took a shortcut to climb over the fence, and then pretended to be local thugs. It must be said that Matsuda Jinpei looked really like a yakuza with his hands in his pockets, his neck slightly bent forward and walking with a figure eight step, and he only lacked a pair of sunglasses to enhance his attributes.
Fujiwara Yu and Morofushi Kagemitsu, who were not good at performing, had to walk behind with their arms around each other, chatting and laughing while not forgetting to observe the surrounding situation.
"There is a van on the right. It seems that there are quite a lot of criminals. We may have some sentries there." Zhu Fujingguang said this with a smile as if he was chatting, and then he withdrew his observation gaze and looked forward.
The four of them arrived at the convenience store's door. Due to the frosted glass, they couldn't see clearly what was going on inside. Matsuda Jinpei curled his lips in dissatisfaction, staring at the warning posted on the glass door and said in a shrewd tone:
"What's going on? They're closing down. Why are they still leaving the lights on? Are you crazy?"
In order to make his performance more realistic, Matsuda Jinpei reached out and punched the glass door. Of course, the strength was controlled, otherwise it would be embarrassing to break the glass door with one punch.
The four men walked towards the direction of the van parked, cursing, and each of them even had an unlit cigarette in their mouths. Matsuda Jinpei, who had only a few cigarettes left in his box, felt his heart bleeding - what a shameful waste.
As he passed the van, Fujiwara Yu clearly heard noises coming from inside, suggesting there were still criminals inside. He then realized the words "Bank ATM" were written underneath the sign as he approached it, suggesting the criminals were planning to intercept the armored car.
After walking a few meters away and making sure that the people in the car couldn't hear him, he spoke:
"I think the criminals' goal wasn't to rob the convenience store, but to intercept the armored car. There must have been other people ahead watching the car's route. Fortunately, they didn't act rashly and call the police, otherwise they would have alerted the enemy."
"Hmm~ Glad I listened to Komorobushi's suggestion. But I've come up with a great idea. Are you interested?" Seeing them nod, Hagiwara Kenji pulled out his phone and began to explain, "I'm planning to get the police academy students to help. Just like in a play, we'll dress up as drunken thugs, break into the store, and when we see the criminals, we'll pretend we don't know they're trying to rob us and say we're on a movie set."
Zhu Fujingguang, who had nothing to do with gangsters, scratched his cheek and said with a wry smile:
"I don't think I'll be able to act well. Besides, we don't smell of alcohol, and our clothes haven't changed at all. Will the criminals in the car notice something's wrong?"
"You don't have to worry about clothes or wine. What do you think of the plan?"
"I think it is feasible, and even if the police academy students gather together, they will not be suspected. They are all young." Fujiwara Yu agreed, saying that this is indeed the most feasible option at this stage.
Matsuda Jinpei was somewhat suspicious. He narrowed his eyes, feeling that something was amiss, and asked:
"The wine is easy to deal with, but the clothes...Hagi, you're not up to something bad, are you?"
Hagiwara Kenji snapped his fingers mysteriously, blinked twice, and raised his voice:
"I'm an excellent student at the police academy. How could I possibly be a thief? Just follow me, the three of you. I'll take you to a good place where you can get some costumes. It's nearby!"
Although he had only been out of school a few times, Hagiwara Kenji seemed to be very familiar with the area. He led them to the alley at 3-2 Koyanagi-cho, and before entering, he looked around furtively, as if he was wary of something.
The shop called "GUNDAM" is hidden deep in an alley. The neon sign with flashing purple-red lights and a constantly blinking red lip logo next to it doesn't seem like a serious shop.
Standing at the door, Matsuda Jinpei sighed helplessly. Knowing his own childhood friend well, he had already figured out where Hagiwara had taken them. He stared at Hagiwara with his half-moon eyes, speechlessly, and asked:
"Hey, Hagi, don't you know that men are not allowed to enter and consume in places like this? Besides, we don't have the money to buy the alcohol inside."
"Oh? Xiao Zhenping, you seem to be very familiar with this place. You are not secretly telling us—"
