Chapter 189,/.

Chiba General Hospital, 12:00 PM.

The inpatient department is busy during working hours, and the corridors are filled with the aroma of food. In order to save the cost of hospitalization, many patients choose to have their families prepare their own lunch boxes.

Sitting behind the nurse's desk in the inpatient department, Shizuko Osawa was counting on her fingers how many days were left until payday. When she thought about the final payment for the jewelry in two days, she couldn't force a smile on her face.

"Hello, is Hasegawa Shinya the chief physician here?"

"Yes, is there anything I can help you with, Dr. Hasegawa?" When Shizuko Osawa heard someone asking for advice, she immediately showed a service-oriented smile. She stood up and looked at the purple-haired young man in front of her. The more she looked, the more she felt that he looked familiar. It seemed like she had seen this guy somewhere before. Was he a prime-time actor?

Fujiwara Yu took out his police ID from his pocket, looked around to make sure there was no one around, and then spoke:

"Hello, I'm Sosuke Takashi from the Metropolitan Police Department. I'm here to find out..."

"You, you are that handsome detective!

Shizuko Osawa interrupted Sosuke Takashi before he finished speaking. Realizing she had spoken too loudly, she quickly covered her mouth and whispered, "I'm sorry, I just didn't expect you to come to the hospital, nor did I expect you to wear glasses. Is there anything you need from me?"

Fujiwara Yuu held his forehead in pain. This nurse had a really loud voice, and with one shout, she successfully made several patients pop their heads out. He put away his police ID, pushed up his thin gold-rimmed glasses for disguise, and coughed twice to ease the embarrassment.

"Ahem, I'm here to learn about Dr. Hasegawa's social connections. Do you know him well?"

"Hey, Officer, you've got the right person to ask. There's no gossip in this inpatient department that I don't know!" Shizuko Ozawa put her hands on her hips, looking very proud. She felt it was inconvenient to talk here, so she walked to the lounge next door and called in, "Erina, can you help me watch the nurses' station for a while?"

A black-haired girl in a nurse's uniform walked out of the lounge. She had a thin figure and a pure appearance. She was less than 1.65 meters tall and had a sweet smile. She looked like a high school student who had not yet reached adulthood.

Her voice also sounded rather childish, especially when her eyes met Takashi Sosuke's. She blushed slightly and avoided his gaze, her voice becoming even softer and lighter:

"Okay, is this your boyfriend?"

"Of course not, he... he's my friend, and he came to talk to me about something." Ozawa Shizuko remembered that Takashi Sosuke didn't want others to know his identity. After swallowing the word "policeman", she continued, "I'll be back soon. I'll leave this place to you for now, Erina!"

"Well, leave it to me."

The two walked towards the elevator entrance and went around the elevator to the balcony of the inpatient department, where there were often patients undergoing rehabilitation training and family members of patients coming to get some fresh air.

Osawa Shizuko looked back mysteriously, and after making sure no one was following, she lowered her voice and said:

"Phew, luckily no one's here. Officer, what do you think of Erina?"

"?"

Fujiwara Yuu found this question a bit baffling. He had been the one asking the question, so how could he suddenly become the answerer? He thought back to their brief meeting and said as tactfully as possible:

"A girl who doesn't look like a nurse."

"What kind of description is that? She's the most beautiful girl in our hospital. Many male doctors are her admirers. A while ago, there was a rich second-generation man who was hospitalized with a broken bone. He was attracted to her in just two days and even proposed to her in the hospital!"

"Oh, so?"

Shizuko Ozawa noticed that Sosuke Takashi looked completely uninterested, and she couldn't help but wonder if there were still boys who weren't attracted to Erina. She glanced toward the door again, making sure no one was eavesdropping, before explaining:

"Didn't the officer ask me if I knew anything about Dr. Hasegawa's relationships? Actually, Erina and Mr. Hasegawa are having an affair. I'm not making this up... I just happened to see it happen one day."

"What did you see?"

"I saw them kissing in the hallway. At first I couldn't believe it, but Chiba Prefecture is quite small after all. One day after get off work, I saw them enter a love hotel. To make sure I wasn't seeing things, I waited at the door for a long time. In less than an hour, they came out and kissed in front of me again!"

Fujiwara Yu couldn't help but raise his eyebrows when he heard this. If the girl in front of him didn't become a doctor, she should be able to become an extremely patient private detective... and a private detective who specializes in investigating extramarital affairs.

But the focus now is not on complaining. He really didn't expect that Hasegawa Shinya's affair partner would be the female nurse just now. It was simply outrageous. You know, workplace romance is still taboo for many people, let alone extramarital affairs.

"Thank you for the clue. Could you please call Miss Erina over?"

"Okay, Officer, don't be fooled by her. She's the best at playing with you men!"

"Don't worry, it won't happen."

Fujiwara Yuu leaned against the railing, pulled out his cigarette case, shook out a cigarette, and lit it, mentally organizing all the clues he had so far. On the way to the hospital, Tsuda Usho called to report on the situation. He told him that the Hasegawas were a very loving couple among their neighbors, and that Hasegawa Shinya had a very good reputation. In the eyes of outsiders, he was undoubtedly the image of a good husband, a good earner, a loving wife, and a loyal one.

A loving couple, the husband loves his wife and is loyal to her.

When hearing such comments, Fujiwara Yu only felt irony. It seemed that Hasegawa Yuka was unwilling to show her embarrassing side to outsiders. Unfortunately, Hasegawa Shinya did not care about the dignity his wife left for him.
