Surviving This Year in the Conan World Means Victory

Seven years ago, timeline.

Fujiwara Yu was diligently searching for the Child of Destiny named "Edogawa Conan," believing that only by finding him could he gain permanent residency in...

Chapter 189,/.

The violent shaking caused Ayumi Yoshida in the stroller to cry again. Furuya Rei and Fujiwara Yuu, who were standing outside the house, also showed surprised expressions. They obviously did not expect that an explosion would occur in the apartment they were in.

But the two of them quickly calmed down, looked at each other and took quick action. Furuya Rei was responsible for taking Yoshida and her daughter out of the apartment for refuge, while Fujiwara Yu was responsible for going to the floor where the explosion occurred to investigate the cause of the explosion. If it was just an explosion of natural gas, it would be much better, but if it was a bomb explosion...something would be wrong.

Fujiwara Yuu followed the fire escape to the 21st floor where the explosion occurred. The residents on that floor did not come out of their rooms. He frowned and walked to the door. After putting his ear close to the door to make sure there was no movement, he realized that the residents on that floor were not at home.

His gaze fell on the elevator entrance, where thick smoke was billowing out. It looked like the explosion had occurred in the passenger elevator on the left, but how could a passenger elevator explode for no reason? This was completely illogical.

An ominous premonition arose in his mind, and Fujiwara Yu walked cautiously towards the place where the smoke was coming out. Before he got close, he could smell the smell of hydrogen sulfide. It seemed that it was basically certain that the explosion was caused by human beings. It was probably because a bomb was installed in the elevator shaft, which detonated it.

Just when Fujiwara Yu took out his cell phone to call the police, a pleasant ringtone suddenly rang out. He couldn't help but look around. It was obvious that the cell phone could not be seen on the surface, which meant... the cell phone was hidden somewhere.

If the sound didn't come from the room, then it could only be somewhere in the corridor.

After Fujiwara Yu calmed down and listened carefully to the direction of the sound, he quickly lay on the ground and groped under the public shoe cabinet in the corridor. Sure enough, there was a mobile phone making a sound, and an unfamiliar number was displayed on the narrow screen.

The call came just minutes after the bomb went off, and it was obvious without much deduction that the caller was connected to the bomb. He pressed the answer button with a stern expression and asked calmly:

"You planted the bomb, didn't you? What was your purpose?"

After hesitating for a few seconds, the other party let out a strange laugh. It was obvious that the bomber did not expect the person who answered the phone to be so calm and even see through his identity in a second.

"What a young voice! How did you find the courage to run to the floor where the explosion happened?" The bomber didn't rush to reveal his purpose. He took out a telescope and looked at the residents running out of the apartment building in the distance. His voice rose at the end, revealing a hint of amusement. "You can't be a police officer, right?"

"So what?"

"That's easy. The elevator on the right should be parked on the 20th floor, right? I've planted a bomb in the elevator shaft above the 20th floor, and it's powerful enough to blow up the entire 20th floor. Isn't that amazing?"

Fujiwara Yuu frowned slightly. Sure enough, things were not that simple. He stood up and walked downstairs, asking as he walked:

"I don't think you're bored enough to spend so much time playing games with the police, are you? What's your condition for not detonating the bomb? Money?"

"Bingo~ I didn't expect you to be so smart, little policeman. We just want money, very material conditions. Can you satisfy us?"

The bomber chuckled and snapped his fingers. He glanced at his accomplice beside him and slowly drove closer to the apartment where the bomb was installed. His eyes fell on the blond young man who was directing the evacuation of the apartment residents, and his gaze paused.

Because he discovered that the blond young man was wearing the uniform of a police academy student. So the young man he was talking to now... was he also a police academy student?

"Of course. I'll have the police bring the ransom to the place you requested. As long as you don't detonate the bomb, it's fine." Fujiwara Yuu knew there was more than one bomber after hearing his words. Standing at the right elevator entrance on the 20th floor, cell phone in hand, he said calmly, "This is a win-win deal. I don't think you'll refuse, right?"

A win-win deal? The bomber couldn't help but cover his mouth to control the upward curve of his lips. How come today's police academy students are so much better than the current police officers? Isn't he afraid that he will directly detonate the bomb and blow him to pieces?

It's really interesting, quite interesting.

"Well, then tell the police to leave 1 billion yen in cash in the red phone booth at the Yoshioka 2-chome intersection. I'll have my accomplices collect it. If the police follow or arrest my accomplices, I'll detonate the bomb... Of course, I'll also detonate the bomb if you leave the 20th floor."

Fujiwara Yu was stunned when he heard this. His eyes fell on the elevator in front of him. If his guess was correct, the bomb on the 20th floor might have been bugged, and there might even be hidden eavesdropping equipment in the corridor. As long as the criminals couldn't hear his voice, they would detonate the bomb.

Threatening their own lives? It seems the criminals intended from the outset to make the first person who picked up the phone a hostage. This was a clear enough plan that the police wouldn't dare act rashly, no matter who the hostage was.

"Okay, no problem."

"Well...I'll come back after you finish your call. Come on, little policeman."

After Fujiwara Yu hung up the phone, he took out his mobile phone immediately, found Onizuka Hachizo's mobile phone number in the address book, and dialed it without hesitation.

After a few busy tones came from the other end, he spoke very quickly as soon as the call was connected:

"Instructor Onizuka, I'm Fujiwara Yuu. I hope you can calmly listen to me as I explain what's happening. Also, please convey the following words to your friend at the Metropolitan Police Department."
