Chapter 20 Dialogue

Wu Yu and his companions had no way of knowing the details of the battle, but they saw the final result clearly. The dragon slapped the demon into ashes, and even if it was a pyrrhic victory, it was enough to make Wu Yu and his companions happy.

The surrounding environment had not yet stopped mutating, and no one else dared to go out. Only Wu Yuyi was skilled and daring. He kicked up a pile of dust and poured it onto the ring of fire, then took a step and rushed out.

Seeing the vines slowly moving towards him from the ground, Wu Yu figured that dodging an attack at that speed shouldn't be a problem, so he confidently walked forward.

"Wu Yu, wait for me." To everyone's surprise, Violet also came out.

Violet was holding a torch in her hand, and she waved it at the ground, which kept the vines away.

Seeing that Violet was able to protect herself, Wu Yu decided not to send her back. He then said, "Stay closer to me," and walked towards the direction where the dragon was.

Upon reaching the edge of the pit, Wu Yu saw the dragon's horrific state. Its entire back was a bloody mess, and large areas of its scales had disappeared. It lay prostrate in the pit, seemingly on the verge of death.

Wu Yu squatted down beside the deep pit, level with the dragon's head. He thought of a lot of polite words, but deleted them all in the end. He asked dryly, "Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Today is the anniversary of my death. You can't help me, and I don't need your help," the dragon shook its head and refused.

Wu Yu didn't insist. He had only offered to help on a whim. Then he revealed his true purpose: "I remember they called you Asadron, right? So, when are you going to give me what you promised me?"

Wu Yu's purpose in coming here was so pragmatic. Based on the intelligence he had gathered before, he could barely deduce that the evil dragon was protecting the world, but what did that have to do with Wu Yu? He had been caught in the crossfire, so it shouldn't be too much for him to come here and collect some compensation for his emotional distress.

"Humans, don't you humans usually prefer to use euphemisms? I've never met someone as direct as you before." The dragon smiled weakly, not angry at all.

"There's no need for that. This is neither a transaction nor charity. If you don't want to give it, I won't force you. It's quite dangerous here. I want to grab what I need and get out of here quickly. Let's skip this if it's a waste of time," Wu Yu said indifferently.

Wu Yu genuinely viewed these icing on the cake with a "no loss" mentality; aside from Violet's safety, there was really nothing else in this world that he cared about.

"Not burdened by worldly possessions, human, you are quite good," the dragon said with satisfaction. "My treasures have long been stolen by those villagers, and the storage ring I showed you before is empty. However, I can still give you power. So, what kind of power do you want?"

It was a bit of a shame that he didn't have any money, but there was still some consolation prize. After thinking for a moment, Wu Yu asked, "Do you have a way to heal my hand?"

"I can help with the injury to your right hand, but I can't help with your left," the dragon replied.

"Then I'll trouble you to heal my right hand," Wu Yu said with satisfaction.

"Do not resist, absorb this power with all your might," the dragon instructed, extending its claws.

The dragon's claws covered Wu Yu's head, and a crack naturally appeared in the middle of his palm. Golden blood flowed out from it. The blood was as viscous as magma, and it accumulated in the palm before dripping down all at once.

Wu Yu neither dodged nor evaded, letting the mass of blood engulf him. The blood enveloped Wu Yu like jelly before solidifying on the ground.

Wu Yu's clothes were instantly burned to ashes by the scalding golden blood, but Wu Yu himself was unharmed except for his skin turning red.

Wu Yu felt every pore on his body opening to its limit, and the golden blood continuously seeped in from all over his body, combining with his own blood and flowing back to his heart through his blood vessels.

"Thump, thump." Wu Yu's heart was beating strongly, and it was the first time he had clearly heard his own heartbeat.

With each beat, the newly squeezed blood helps Wu Yu undergo a transformation, cleansing his body and replenishing his marrow. The last potion helped Wu Yu go from being in a sub-healthy state to becoming strong, and this time, Wu Yu's physical abilities are advancing towards some inhuman realm.

The body's metabolism is constantly accelerating. While waste products are being eliminated, the cells in the right arm are also rapidly renewing themselves. Using the old right arm as a blueprint, broken bone fragments are broken down, new bones are growing, fat is digested, and muscles that have absorbed energy are developing vigorously. A brand new and stronger right arm is taking shape.

The meridians that had been somewhat blocked in the past were cleared one by one, and the surging battle qi flowed freely in his body. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Wu Yu activated the mental technique recorded in "Detailed Explanation of Battle Qi Cultivation", gathered the battle qi in his lower dantian, and refined and controlled it. Wu Yu prepared to condense a battle qi vortex here in one go.

Just as Wu Yu was undergoing evolution at the level of life, changes were also taking place in the outside world.

The dragon's head was badly beaten, with a large swelling on its face. Violet then stretched out her arm and gently stroked the dragon's forehead with her delicate hand. Beauty and the beast, the scene was frozen in that moment.

"As promised back then, I have come to witness your death."

Violet's will was transmitted to her, and a spiritual link was established between the two, allowing them to silently exchange their thoughts.
