Chapter Eleven: The Kobolds

If they can kill the weaker soldiers, they will have made a huge profit. If not, the triggering of the trap will also let them know that the Elven race is coming to attack them.

Wu Yu had anticipated the trap, but he then took out a boulder from his storage ring and casually smashed it into the pit. As the magic circle in the pit was destroyed and a flash of red light appeared, Wu Yu knew that the alarm had been sounded.

According to the demons' custom, when someone triggers a trap, they will send a suicide squad to investigate and see if it is an elf or some brainless demon who has fallen into the trap he dug.

The way to confirm it is also very simple: just see if the demon can return alive. The demons have always been this inhumane in their ways.

"Turn off the lights," Wu Yu instructed Violet behind him.

As darkness became his perfect disguise, Wu Yu stood there, motionless, waiting for his prey to fall into his trap.

Wu Yu tried to keep his breathing as low as possible. This time, he showed great patience. You never know how far you can go if you don't push yourself.

But perseverance pays off. Although a glimmer of fire appeared before his eyes, Wu Yu knew that his prey had appeared.

By the dim light, Wu Yu could see what the creature looked like: a rather thin dog-headed man who appeared terrified.

According to the monster encyclopedia Wu Yu had previously browsed, kobolds can be considered a low-level race in the demon world. After reaching adulthood, they can possess the physical qualities of a first-tier superhuman, but unless they mutate, they may only have first-tier combat power until they die. Moreover, their intelligence is generally quite low, which would be considered mild intellectual disability in human terms.

They belong to an enslaved race, and in the Demon Realm they are generally used as laborers and as cannon fodder in wars. They are the most important labor force in the Demon Realm.

The kobold also saw Wu Yu at that moment, and bared his fangs, roaring fiercely at him.

"Woof, woof."

Shouting wasn't enough; the kobold still charged at them.

Wu Yu then realized that the assessment of the kobolds as mildly mentally challenged was quite accurate. Did your master even provide you with any equipment when he sent you here? Don't you have any idea what kind of person you are? Although even if he tried to run away, it would be pointless.

As someone who is afraid of dogs, Wu Yu intends to wash away the shame of being scared away by stray dogs for the past twenty years by this dog-headed man.

You little brat, even if you've become a spirit now, I'm not afraid of you.

Seeing the kobold lunging at him like a wild beast, Wu Yu revealed a cruel smile. He dodged to the side with speed far exceeding the kobold's, followed by a side kick that sent him sprawling to the ground. He then walked over and stomped on the kobold's hands twice with force, breaking them with two crisp cracking sounds. Wu Yu didn't cut off the kobold's hands with his sword because he was too lazy to bandage his wounds. Afterward, Wu Yu stomped on the kobold's chest, rendering him unable to move.

"Awooo!" The kobold let out a miserable howl.

“Damn humans, woof woof!” the kobold cursed in anguish.

"If you don't want to die, obey my orders," Wu Yu threatened, his eyes cold as he looked at the kobold.

"You actually know my language!" the kobold exclaimed in surprise.

"Just obey orders and don't ask any questions," Wu Yu said ruthlessly, kicking him again.

Wu Yu hadn't learned the demon language, of course, but he had a cheat code! The system's most human-like ability, [Voice of the Soul], allowed Wu Yu to communicate with all intelligent life forms, completely ignoring racial differences—that's how powerful it was.

“You despicable human, what do you want me to do? Woof woof,” the kobold asked.

For someone with mild intellectual disability, the meaning of loyalty is not understood. For them, they basically act on instinct. So when Wu Yu used his life as a threat, he agreed without much resistance.

Wu Yu had learned about the kobolds' nature from the monster encyclopedia and knew that with his intelligence, he definitely wouldn't come up with such a treacherous scheme as feigning surrender. So Wu Yu began to use him with confidence and boldness: "Take me to your base."

If it were high-level demons like trolls or cannibals, Wu Yu might be somewhat wary. But if it were just trash like kobolds, Wu Yu could only say that he would kill as many as they came.

Even if their base has stronger individuals, they are still no match for Wu Yu, who is invincible in one-on-one combat below the Saint level.

It wasn't that Wu Yu had become arrogant; rather, there were simply no demons here who could threaten his life. The seal of the Four Extremes directly prohibited epic-level demons from entering or leaving, while legendary-level demons dared not casually step into the elven territory, fearing an attack by powerful elven warriors.

The strongest enemy Wu Yu could encounter here was only at the sixth rank, which was far from enough.

The kobolds didn't dare to play any tricks along the way, or rather, they simply didn't know how to play any tricks, and obediently led Wu Yu to their base.

When Wu Yu saw the edge of the base, he directly chopped off the kobold's head with a single sword stroke.

Wu Yu had never promised to let him go after they reached their destination. Knowing that he would be useless soon, Wu Yu wouldn't leave him alive as an unexpected surprise.

He then secretly led Violet over there.

Although it's called a base, it's actually a large underground space created by the demons. Although they dug a pit, the thick tree roots still exist, cutting across the space.
