Chapter Six Invitation

After all, Wu Yu and his group had just arrived in the Versailles Empire when the emperor was assassinated. Even a fool would know that these two events were connected.

However, Wu Yu did not intend to tell the Versailles Empire about the speculations regarding the Outer God Alliance, lest he alert them. If the Outer God Alliance's target this time was not him, then Wu Yu did not intend to get involved any further; he would simply wait for Phillis to finish his wedding and leave.

Aiden was also very troubled by Wu Yu's tough attitude. Finally, he sighed and said, "Even if you admit that you did it, there's nothing we can do about it. He's just an emperor. When he was alive, we might still have to be wary of him, but if he's dead, the next emperor won't be willing to fight to the death with an eighth-tier epic for the sake of the previous emperor. You can state your demands clearly. If you know anything, I hope you can tell me."

Aiden's words were quite candid, but Wu Yu didn't care at all. His tone remained unchanged: "Catching criminals is your business. I'm just here to accompany His Majesty on his wedding."

"Well, in that case, I'll leave you alone from now on." Aiden said, waving his hand, and all the guards who had come with him withdrew.

Are they really that easy to deal with? Wu Yu was shocked.

But Wu Yu soon realized he was wrong. The attendant left, but Aiden did not. The manor was large enough, with many empty rooms, so Aiden found an empty room to stay in.

That wasn't all. Next, a swordsman carrying a greatsword and a priest holding a scepter moved in. Wu Yu recognized both of them; one was the chief swordsman of the Versailles Empire's palace, and the other was the pope of the Dark Church.

The Versailles Empire only has five eighth-tier epics, and this time, in order to keep an eye on Wu Yu, they sent three of them, which means they have already determined that Wu Yu is the mastermind behind this assassination.

Since the formation can't restrain you, I'll just send someone to keep an eye on you, okay?

Although Wu Yu felt wronged, he didn't intend to resist, since he really hadn't done anything wrong.

Wu Yu also had another guess: the Outer God Alliance made him take the blame, could it be to divert these advanced forces in the imperial city?

"Knock," "knock," "knock," Wu Yu knocked on the door with a very rhythmic sound.

Given the magnitude of this event, Wu Yu felt it necessary to go and explain things to Phillis. Today, Aiden bypassed Phillis and went directly to Wu Yu, so she probably doesn't yet know about the death of the Emperor of the Versailles Empire.

"Please come in." Having received permission, Wu Yu pushed open the door and entered.

Upon entering, I saw Phillis tidying her long hair in front of a large mirror. She was wearing a plain white dress, without any makeup or accessories. She had a pale yellow sun hat on her head. Then she turned to Wu Yu and asked with a smile, "Wu Yu, am I pretty?"

"Of course," Wu Yu replied directly. Women asking this kind of question usually only have one answer, especially since Wu Yu was telling the truth.

'Do I still look like an emperor now?' Phillis continued to ask.

This is a question that needs some thought. After a while, Wu Yu replied seriously, "No, at most she's a rich girl."

“Okay, that’s good.” Phillis nodded in satisfaction. “Since we’ve come all the way to the Versailles Empire, let’s go shopping.”

"Wait a minute, actually I have something to report to you." Philliss's carefree appearance was truly enviable, and Wu Yu didn't want to spoil her mood if he could.

"You mean the assassination of the Emperor of the Versailles Empire? Don't underestimate me. I'm the Emperor, after all. The intelligence I possess is far more extensive than you can imagine, Wu Yu," Phillis said boastfully. Then, while Wu Yu was still in shock, she came over, took his hand, and walked directly outside.

"Wu Yu, look! That kind of food isn't available in the Ultra Empire."

"Wu Yu, why are the women in this country wearing such short skirts? Aren't they afraid of exposing themselves?"

"Wu Yu, there's a play being performed inside. Would you like to go in and take a look?"

Once on the street, Philliss displayed her feminine nature, chattering incessantly and remaining completely active.

However, Wu Yu remained listless. Finally, he couldn't help but remind him, "Phillis, men and women should not touch each other. You have come to the Versailles Empire for a marriage alliance. It is probably inappropriate for you to act so intimately with me."

Philliss, however, didn't listen to Wu Yu's words at all, and instead held Wu Yu's hand even tighter.

Feeling the soft touch from his arm, Wu Yu dared not make any rash moves, letting Phillis pull his stiff body through the streets, while he whispered in protest, "Don't play pranks on me, Phillis."

“It’s not a prank, I did it because I like it,” Phillis said boldly. “As for my fiancé, Wu Yu, you don’t need to worry at all. This wedding is destined to be canceled.”

"Why was the wedding canceled?" Wu Yu wasn't some innocent virgin; he wasn't confused by Phillis's first half of the question. Instead, Phillis's second half of the question was clearly more profound.

“Because I don’t need to compromise myself by marrying a little kid.” Phillis directly contradicted what he had said earlier.

"Then why did you come to the Versailles Empire?" Wu Yu asked, puzzled.

"Of course, it's so I can go on a date with you, Wu Yu, like a couple. With Violet following me around, there's no way I can be alone with you in the Ultra Empire," Phillis continued his offensive.
