Chapter Twenty: Wu Yu Never Walks Alone

Wu Yu's appearance was so bizarre. The Elf Kingdom had been occupied for several years, and it was simply illogical for a man who seemed out of touch with the times to suddenly appear deep in the Endless Forest.

"I need to find someone and demand an explanation. If things go smoothly, I wouldn't mind saving this world from destruction," Wu Yu said calmly, but the meaning behind his words stirred up a storm in Joyce's heart.

Joyce's mouth agape for a long time before she slowly uttered two words: "Bragging."

Although Joyce's body was not fully developed, she had over a hundred years of experience. She had only heard Wu Yu say such things before when the old people in the village were drunk.

"My answer doesn't need to convince you," Wu Yu retorted calmly, then tore off a large piece of meat in one bite.

Joyce was speechless. She had originally planned a little scheme: if Wu Yu wanted to prove him, he would have to demonstrate his strength, which might be a great opportunity to observe him. But now it seemed impossible.

“But my father said that although you are powerful, you have definitely not reached the Saint level yet.” Joyce gritted her teeth, still making her last effort.

“Yes, I’m only at the fifth level right now, but who says that only strength can solve problems?” Wu Yu had no intention of hiding his strength. It wasn’t that he trusted Joyce, but rather that hiding his strength was meaningless to him at this point.

Joyce was stunned. She hadn't expected Wu Yu to suddenly become so agreeable again. With a try-it-and-see attitude, she asked, "Why did you appear in the depths of the Endless Forest?"

"I had to go to the underground of the Tree of Life for some business, but due to an accident, I fell into a deep sleep underground for ten years until recently."

After waking up, Wu Yu had seen through many things. Many things that he used to think he needed to pay attention to were no longer important. Even the most important secret of time travel, Wu Yu could now tell others without any hesitation.

"Ten years ago!" Joyce's eyes widened. This point in time was far too sensitive. She would never forget the scene of the demons ravaging their village ten years ago. Suppressing her anger, she asked, "What exactly were you doing here ten years ago? Did the demon invasion have anything to do with you?"

Hearing the barrage of questions, Wu Yu calmly replied, "I'm here to inquire about the truth behind the apocalypse. As for the demon invasion, if my guess is correct, the seal on the four poles should be my friend Jack."

"Bastards!" The anger in her chest turned into a curse that burst out. It was hard to imagine that a gentle and refined elf girl could become so ferocious when she was angry. She almost roared at Wu Yu, "Why did you do such a cruel thing?"

Wu Yu shrugged and said, "I was knocked unconscious by her at the time, so I also want to know why she did it."

"So you're saying this has nothing to do with you?" Joyce's hatred lessened when she saw Wu Yu's reply.

"That's just how I understand it. As for whether she did anything strange with my body while I was unconscious, I can't guarantee that. Oh right!" Wu Yu slapped his forehead, suddenly thinking of a possibility, "Could it be that my blood is the key to unlocking the seal?"

Wu Yu thought it made more and more sense. According to his understanding, Ji Tiandao, who set up the seal of the four polar regions, was very likely his fellow townsman. It should be reasonable for him to use his own Yanhuang bloodline to break the seal.

A smile unconsciously crept onto Wu Yu's lips as he silently gave himself a mental pat on the back for his cleverness.

Seeing Wu Yu laughing instead of getting angry, Joyce asked in confusion, "Your friend betrayed you, aren't you angry?"

"Why should I be angry?" Wu Yu asked back. "She only betrayed humanity. To be precise, I also benefited. It's just that I'm a little annoyed that she didn't inform me before doing it. If she can give me a reasonable explanation later, I can forgive her."

"Incomprehensible!" Joyce had no idea what Wu Yu was talking about. If she didn't know that she was no match for Wu Yu, she would definitely beat this annoying human who was trying to be mysterious right now.

"Because I don't need you to understand."

Wu Yu chuckled, then flicked his sword-wielding hand, releasing a burst of sword energy that washed away the grease from the blade. He then stored the remaining meat and tools in his storage ring. Having eaten and drunk his fill, it was time to set off. Although he had been leisurely along the way, he didn't want to waste a single second.

"Have you made a decision?" Wu Yu asked in a distant tone.

Now, he only needed to travel south for another day to leave the Endless Forest. With the trees no longer obstructing his view, Wu Yu could travel anywhere on the continent using the map in his hand. Wu Yu no longer needed Joyce to guide him.

“Hmm.” Joyce’s emotions suddenly calmed down. She seemed to have made a decision and responded loudly, “I will go with you.”

Wu Yu raised an eyebrow. He hadn't expected this outcome, but he didn't intend to refuse. "Sure, but do you know where I'm going? You should know that I've already completed the deal with your village. If you want to travel with me again, I have no obligation to protect you."

“You should go find the person who broke the seal. I want to go with you to see him,” Joyce said without backing down.

"Want revenge?" Wu Yu suddenly became interested. "I have no intention of killing her. Although I don't know how strong she is, you are definitely no match for her. If you just want to die, then I'll be a little disappointed."
