Chapter 88 Desert Search (11) - Entering the Mysterious Space

After her body was suddenly suspended in mid-air, Ning Shu quickly fell out of the cave while "standing".

She landed on a very tall sand pile. Because of the sand pile, she wasn't injured, but she was still lying on the sand pile, not yet recovered.

It was pitch black all around her, and she could hear a constant rustling sound above her head, as if sand was falling on her.

Terrified by the noise, she quickly pulled a flashlight from her pocket.

Previously, because she had to walk at night, she felt it was inconvenient to take the flashlight out of her bag repeatedly, and since the flashlight was relatively small, she simply stuffed it into her pocket.

Fortunately, even though the flashlight had been squeezed by the sand, she hadn't lost it. She quickly turned it on and shone it upwards.

Suddenly, a pair of "standing" feet appeared at the hole above where sand was constantly falling.

This sudden turn of events in the pitch-black environment nearly scared her to death!

Ning Shu held back her scream; she recognized them—they looked like Wu Yi's shoes.

She realized something and knew that Wu Yi was about to fall, so she quickly rolled over to the side.

Just kidding, if she were hit by Wu Yi, she'd be crippled if not killed.

Sure enough, just as she rolled to the side, Wu Yi also fell down.

Ning Shu quickly got up to shine a light on Wu Yi. After coming down, Wu Yi looked extremely disheveled and immediately rolled over to spit out sand.

Ning Shu could tell at a glance that when he fell, his mouth must have been open, which is why sand got in.

She quickly went to find the supply pack. When she was digging the hole, the supply pack had been left aside, so it should have come down with her.

Sure enough, she found her supply pack on the other side of the sand pile, and then heard Wu Yi grunt behind her.

Worried that something might have happened to him, she turned around and shone the light on him, only to find that his supply bag had also fallen and landed right on his back.

She looked at all four walls and found a doorway on one of them. There was no door; the dark opening looked rather eerie.

She noticed that the blurry patch in the upper left corner of her field of vision seemed to have become clearer, and had a distinct shape, resembling the outline of a person.

Is the object she's looking for a person? Or something shaped like a person?

It seems she came to the right place; she's getting closer to her mission destination. The glasses prop didn't backfire on her.

Ning Shu suddenly froze, reaching up to touch the bridge of her nose. Where were her glasses?!

This is a big problem; she might have lost her glasses!

She started shining her flashlight on the ground to look for it. She thought it might be on the sand dune that had fallen down, so she prepared to climb up.

Noticed her movements and asked in confusion, "Sister Ning, what are you doing?"

Why is the light shining on the ground? And it's even trying to climb up the sand dune.

"My glasses fell off, please help me find them, they're very important."

Wu Yi had recovered by then and quickly took out his flashlight to help search.

The two searched for a long time in this area before finally finding the glasses under the sand near the sand pile.

Ning Shu almost burst into tears as she held the glasses in her hands; her lifeline had finally been saved!

Wu Yi looked at Ning Shu with some confusion, perhaps girls are just that emotional.

"Sister Ning, should we go over now?" Wu Yi asked, having spotted the doorway on the wall with his flashlight.

Ning Shu looked towards the doorway where he had lit it; she... didn't really want to go.

She shone a light on the ceiling and scanned it, finding that apart from the hole that let in sand, there were no other exits.

She quickly put on her glasses and let them clear the mines first. Then she saw a big question mark over the doorway, but this time it wasn't marked in red.

"..."

Damn it, it would have been better not to show it at all; that would have scared her even more.

Ning Shu: "How about we eat something first before we go over..."

Wu Yi couldn't help but look at Ning Shu: What's wrong? Does eating give you courage?

Wu Yi, a grown man, was afraid of actual danger, while Ning Shu was afraid of anything related to "the strange." She always felt that this place was weird.

It's dark and quiet all around here, a place where the "weird" love to cause trouble.

After eating his fill, Ning Shu rested for a while before setting off, and only did he leave after Wu Yi urged him three or four times.

Ning Shu held Wu Yi's arm tightly, making Wu Yi walk ahead.

Wu Yi sensed Ning Shu's nervousness and comforted her, "Sister Ning, don't worry, I will protect you."

Ning Shu: "...Okay." She thought to herself that if that thing came, no one could escape.

Both of them walked out of the door with flashlights and found that the exit was actually a long corridor, with no idea where it led.

This situation reminded Ning Shu of the corridor in the Red Brick Factory instance; the exit might be a large space, and they didn't know what awaited them there.

They walked for nearly 10 minutes before they saw the exit, only to find another dark hole. Ning Shu unconsciously swallowed.

When they finally stepped out of the exit, they stumbled and almost tripped over a half-meter-wide ditch.

Ning Shu shone her flashlight into the ditch and found that it was quite deep. There seemed to be some liquid inside, almost black, but she didn't know what it was.

She glanced at it and ignored it; sure enough, there was a large space beyond the exit.

Ning Shu and Wu Yi each held a flashlight and shone it around. Ning Shu shone it in front of her first and found that there was a high wall to her right. The other side was far away, and the light could not reach the end.

To the left was a large space, and her flashlight seemed to shine on a pile of clutter, reflecting a golden light.

Ning Shu had a guess about the light, so she stepped forward to see it more clearly.
