Chapter 157 The Lair

Just as Mu Qingyu was squatting in the small wooden house, writing furiously on an ancient book.

Someone actually managed to sneak into the conference room where she was.

Mu Qingyu enters the space from the conference room and then returns to the conference room. Therefore, she can see everything that happens in the conference room from within the space.

Those in the conference room, however, were unable to detect Mu Qingyu's presence.

Mu Qingyu suddenly discovered yet another new use for the space—gathering intelligence, which was even more effective than surveillance cameras.

Entering the conference room were two shifty-eyed men, both short and in their thirties, who entered furtively.

"Is it them? Why did they all follow us here?" One of the men asked the other man in a low voice as he closed the door.

“It’s definitely them! However, that terrifying female demon isn’t with them,” the second man replied in an even lower voice.

The conference room was quite spacious, but the two of them didn't dare to stand or sit. They ran under the conference table, crouched down, and hid, whispering to each other.

"Will it do us any good to just hide like this? Why don't we tell Brother Kai what happened today?" Man A suggested in a panic.

Man B slapped Man A on the head angrily: "Are you an idiot? Haven't you learned your lesson from yesterday? We went to block the road yesterday, and we ran into that she-devil. She smashed our roadblocks and everyone else to pieces in just a couple of bangs..."

"We came back and told Brother Qiang everything, and what happened? We each got slapped five times! And our rations for the past two days were taken away!"

"Yesterday, it was just some low-level thugs like us who died, so Brother Qiang didn't hold it against us too much. “Why don’t we just hide like this for now and see what those people want to do when they come in? Let’s change our clothes first. If those guys manage to take down Brother Kai, we can blend in with the victims… There’s so much yellow sand outside, and with so many people and such a chaotic scene, how could they possibly recognize us?” said Man B.

"Okay, you're the best at this. I... I'll listen to you..." the man said, trembling.

Then the two of them huddled under the table in the conference room.

Mu Qingyu felt a sense of familiarity as she listened to their conversation.

Yesterday, the "female demon" who smashed up checkpoints and people? That looks like me on my way to the library!

Today, Qiang Ge and many others died? Five or six escaped, and they even seemed to know Xiao Shiyang and his group who entered the building earlier…
