There was also a warehouse full of condiments, but Mu Qingyu only took the parts that hadn't been soaked in water.

There was even a warehouse full of canned meat. This was good stuff; if sealed, it could be preserved for decades without spoiling. Mu Qingyu took it all, but still separated the ones that had been soaked in water from the ones that hadn't.

They also found a warehouse full of livestock and poultry feed and a small amount of veterinary medicine, which looked like it was temporarily stored there after being wholesaled from a rural area. Mu Qingyu took it all; these things would come in handy if the village started raising livestock in the future.

Next, Mu Qingyu opened up three more empty warehouses.

Just as Mu Qingyu was about to press on, she heard the sound of cars driving in the distance, and there was more than one!

Mu Qingyu's original plan for today was to slowly open the warehouse, and when she got tired, she would go back to her space to rest for a few hours, and then continue when it got light.

She never expected that she would encounter the mutated giant rat that she had hated in both her past and present lives in Huisheng Garden!

This battle had consumed too much of her energy and time. She looked at her watch; it was already past four in the morning, and dawn would break soon!

What Mu Qingyu didn't expect was that before she had even finished opening the blind boxes, someone suddenly appeared out of nowhere—someone's here!

Thinking that someone was coming, Mu Qingyu quickly opened two more warehouses. This time, her luck was not good. One warehouse was empty, and the other warehouse was full of sanitary products, such as toilet paper and sanitary napkins. They were originally good products, but after being soaked in water, Mu Qingyu really didn't want them anymore.

She had quite a bit of space for these things; half of them were things she had bought and hoarded before the apocalypse, and the other half were from a warehouse she had previously set up in Muxiang Garden. There were also some scattered items that she had taken from the warehouses of small shops or shopping malls.

So she didn't touch those things.

The sound of the car grew closer, and then it stopped directly at the entrance of Huisheng Garden.

Mu Qingyu didn't know whether these people had originally come for Huisheng Garden or were attracted by the explosion.

Originally, I was thinking of simply hiding back in my space and waiting until they finished looting Huisheng Garden and left by tomorrow before coming out.

But at that moment, Mu Qingyu heard gunshots.

Several shots rang out, and Mu Qingyu could still faintly hear the screech of the mutated giant rats—she thought she had cleaned them up! She hadn't expected these cunning creatures to have hidden a few more!

This is probably because when those people entered Huisheng Garden, they encountered the fleeing mutated giant rats, so they shot and killed them.

There are guns! And more than one!

Mu Qingyu knew a lot about firearms, but she had seen Han Yu and his group use guns before, and the sounds didn't seem like pistols. Considering the sounds of several cars, could it be the army?!

Mu Qingyu didn't want to hide in the space anymore; she wanted to go and find out what was going on.

At this moment, at the exit of Huisheng Garden, a group of men in military uniforms were aiming at several mutated giant rats that had failed to escape and were trying to hide again.

After a while, several more gunshots rang out, and the mutated giant rat finally stopped moving.

The young soldier finally breathed a sigh of relief and said to a man in his late twenties beside him, "Captain, all the mutated rats have been killed! The mutated rats here seem to be bigger than the ones we've seen before!"

He thought for a moment and then added, "And they are even more cunning."

The man called the captain stepped forward and kicked the corpse of the mutated giant rat: "They are indeed larger, know how to hide themselves, and their teeth seem to be sharper as well."

The captain sighed. After the zombies, the animals seemed to be slowly mutating as well, which was not good news for humans!

"Stay vigilant! Don't let your guard down! Be extremely careful, their teeth are exceptionally sharp, watch out for any that slip through. Xiao Wu, send a team out to check if there's anyone else here."

If it were just giant rats, that would be one thing, but an explosion occurred here. Explosions can't be caused by mutated creatures, so there's a high probability that there are still humans here.

The captain, leading a small team, cautiously moved forward, passing many charred corpses of mutated giant rats. Traces of burning were also visible on parts of the ground.

Suddenly, a huge rat engulfed in flames darted out from around the corner. It was significantly larger than the one the captain and his team had encountered before, and its sharp fangs gleamed coldly in the flames.

The captain raised his gun and aimed, but before the bullet could be fired, another dark figure followed closely behind, rushing to the giant rat at an extremely fast speed. With a swift stroke, the captain beheaded the mutated giant rat!

The others were startled and immediately raised their guns to aim at the person who had suddenly appeared.

The man seemed to be solely focused on chasing the mutated giant rat. He had just breathed a sigh of relief after killing it when he looked up and saw a cluster of dark gun barrels. He seemed startled and froze.

"Don't fire!" the captain quickly reminded his soldiers.

Who are you?

Who are you?

The two questions were asked at the same time, with the captain and the person who suddenly appeared asking each other almost simultaneously.

Of course, the person who suddenly "appeared" was Mu Qingyu.

The "accidental encounter" between the two groups was not truly accidental, but rather the result of Mu Qingyu's arrangement.
