Meng Shiwan struggled desperately in the apocalypse for three years. After death, she was reborn back to three hours before the apocalypse began.
Remembering the betrayal by her own family in...
Chapter 19 Am I scary-looking?
Meng Shiwan slept until dark, and when she opened her eyes, she saw that the RV was completely dark.
"Ash, turn on all the lights."
All the lights inside the RV came on, dispelling the darkness.
Ta Xue lay sprawled out on the inside of the bed, fast asleep.
Meng Shiwan picked it up, jumped off the bed, and raised the bed frame.
She drew back the curtains and glanced outside; it was already completely dark.
"Ta Xue, go take a dump. We're not going out today."
Meng Shiwan put Taxue on the ground. Taxue was still half asleep and didn't want to go, so she jumped onto the sofa and continued to sleep.
Seeing its sleepy appearance, Meng Shiwan found it amusing and simply ignored it.
I turned on the monitor in the living room and continued watching the heartwarming movie I hadn't finished watching last night.
Ta Xue found it noisy, so she covered her ears with her two paws and tried to sleep.
Meng Shiwan yawned and went to wash up. Then she took the clothes out of the washing machine, propped them up on hangers, and hung them on the roof of the car on the second floor, directly above the stairs, to dry.
What should we eat tonight?
Thinking about what to eat every day became Meng Shiwan's happy moment.
Put the mango juice in the refrigerator to chill, take out the small frying pan hanging on the wall, and fry the eggs on the induction cooker over low heat.
Wash the lettuce and drain it. Go upstairs and find a bottle of ketchup and a packet of cheese slices to make a simple sandwich.
After frying the eggs, I added some water and cooked a few large shrimp for Taxue.
Dinner was ready in no time.
Two sandwiches, a glass of mango juice, a durian, and half a watermelon that I put in the fridge yesterday.
Tonight's a fruit and snack party.
It's delicious, I love it.
Everything was placed on the small dining table in front of the sofa. The cooked shrimp were scooped out, peeled, shredded, and then mixed with a can of cat food. Even Ta Xue, the little glutton, would be completely captivated by the aroma.
"Ash, turn off all the lights outside the living room."
The lights inside the RV suddenly dimmed, leaving only the soft glow from a few LED lights under the bed above the living room.
Meng Shiwan placed a cushion in the corner between the sofa and the wardrobe, then comfortably lay down on it while eating watermelon and watching a movie.
The night outside was quiet, and the lights inside the RV were soft and dim. Eating fruit and watching a movie, there was nothing more comfortable than this.
The RV, immune to all harm, is like a sturdy fortress, giving people a strong sense of security in this perilous post-apocalyptic world.
Meng Shiwan put down the watermelon, casually pulled out a bag of spicy strips from under the table, picked up a sandwich, and the aroma was so enticing it would make anyone dizzy.
Ta Xue ate her meal with smacking sounds, then clumsily went to the bathroom to use the toilet and flush.
When it came out of the bathroom, it saw Meng Shiwan peeling a durian.
The little cat stared with wide, round eyes, full of confusion.
It glanced at the durian in Meng Shiwan's hand, then at the feces that had just been flushed away in the bathroom, its eyes showing a hint of annoyance.
If I had known my human liked to eat poop, I should have saved it for them while it was still warm.
After Meng Shiwan finished eating, she felt sleepy. "Xiao Zhi, turn off the TV and the lights."
After saying that, she lay down on the sofa and fell asleep.
The RV was plunged into darkness, and the night fell completely silent.
The next morning, Meng Shiwan felt a tightness in her chest and couldn't breathe properly.
She opened her eyes and met Ta Xue's round, bright eyes.
The chubby Ta Xue sat on her chest, almost crushing her to death.
"Ta Xue, what are you doing?"
Meng Shiwan sat up, holding Taxue, panting heavily.
Ta Xue jumped onto the corridor, looked back at Meng Shiwan, and gestured for her to follow.
Meng Shiwan didn't know what it was going to do. She followed it into the bathroom and saw Ta Xue jump onto the toilet and poop out a huge pile of poop.
"Wow, Ta Xue is so great, she can use the toilet now."
Ta Xue glanced at Meng Shiwan, then at the poop in the toilet. "Eat it, it's hot. The poop owner loves it, so give it all to the poop owner."
Based on Meng Shiwan's understanding of Taxue, she felt that something seemed amiss.
She tentatively reached out to flush the water, saying, "You need to press this button after you've finished pooping..."
Who knew that Ta Xue would grab her hand, look at her, then at the poop in the toilet, and urge her to eat it while it was hot.
Meng Shiwan made up her mind, and she exploded, "Ta Xue, I don't eat shit, I don't eat it."
She pressed the flush button and flushed the poop away.
Ta Xue didn't understand, feeling wronged that her good intentions had been betrayed, since she had eaten quite well last night.
Helpless, Meng Shiwan hugged Taxue and explained, "What I ate yesterday smelled bad, but it wasn't poop, it was fruit. I don't eat poop, you know? Don't ask me to eat poop again next time."
Ta Xue seemed to understand but not quite; she couldn't comprehend why something that smelled just as bad wasn't considered excrement.
Meng Shiwan used the few eggs left over from yesterday to make a few pancakes with flour.
After having a simple breakfast with Taxue, we changed our clothes, took the trash, and went out.
They didn't go to the supermarket; instead, they went up to the second floor via another staircase.
Ta Xue squatted on Meng Shiwan's shoulder, clutching the shovel in her hand, and quietly went upstairs, always on guard about her surroundings.
She wasn't sure if the small trap on the first floor had lured all the zombies on the second floor to its death, so she decided to be careful for her own safety.
If you're not careful and get caught by a zombie, you're doomed.
Before she even stepped out of the stairwell, Meng Shiwan heard the sounds of fighting inside.
She quietly stood at the corner and peered inside, seeing a tall man fighting off several zombies.
Holding a Tang sword, he distanced himself from the zombie, then turned and swung the sword to sever the zombie's head.
Perhaps fearing being caught by the zombies, he was very careful, only retaliating after creating enough distance between himself and the zombies.
Meng Shiwan had seen this man before; he was the bewildered owner of the outdoor gear store.
After dealing with several zombies, he used his Tang sword to cut open the zombies' heads, searching for something.
Meng Shiwan was surprised; he actually knew how to collect crystal cores?
Meng Shiwan looked around. There were two or three zombies lying on the second-floor corridor, and the escalator leading to the third floor was blocked to prevent the zombies on the third floor from coming down to attack.
Seeing that the second floor was safe, Meng Shiwan did not go to greet Wei Ye. Instead, she took Taxue into a small shop next door to see if there was anything she needed.
Collect as much as you need as possible in this shopping mall, because you may not find such a place with such abundant supplies again after leaving here.
Meng Shiwan picked up a small hat, put it on Taxue's little head, and twirled around in front of the mirror. "So cute."
Wei Ye's figure was reflected in the mirror. Meng Shiwan noticed it, gripped her shovel tightly, and quickly retreated to keep her distance from the man.
Wei Ye was taken aback by her strong reaction and was very puzzled. "Every time you see me, it's like you've seen a ghost. Why are you so wary of me? Do I look scary?"
He couldn't understand it at all. He wasn't a zombie, so why did people have to be so wary of him?
Meng Shiwan asked coldly, "What is it?"
She might not be too wary of anyone else, but not this man.
He's covered in the marks of training; he looks like a formidable fighter, so we have to be wary of him.
