33. Honeymoon
(Timeline: Wuyou's contract in South Korea is on a short break, while Pei Yu is forced to take a two-week "honeymoon")
Wuyou's group activities in Korea had come to a temporary halt, and he had a rare short vacation. He had originally planned to sleep in until the end of time and then visit all the newly opened arcades in Seoul. However, on the morning of the first day of vacation, Pei Yu pulled him out of his warm bed.
"Pack your luggage." Pei Yu said concisely and placed a small suitcase beside the bed.
Wuyou had a messy head of hair, sleepy eyes, and tears in his eyes full of confusion: "...Why are you packing?"
Pei Yu leaned over and kissed his sleepy lips, with a barely perceptible tenderness and the joy of a successful plan in his eyes: "Honeymoon trip."
Wuyou: “…Ah?”
When did he agree to a honeymoon?! And what kind of honeymoon would it be for two men?!
An hour later, the private jet soared into the sky. Wu You watched the city shrinking outside the window, finally accepting the reality of his "arrangement." He turned his head and glared at the man beside him, who was processing emails on his tablet. "Pei Yu! You're kidnapping me!"
Pei Yu raised his eyes from behind the tablet and looked at him calmly: "Yes, he tied it up. And then?"
Wuyou was choked by his self-righteous attitude, his cheeks puffed up in anger, like an inflated pufferfish. He decided to unilaterally go into a cold war with Pei Yu... for ten minutes!
However, when the plane landed at the airport of a private island in the Maldives, stepping on the fine white sand and looking at the gradient jelly sea in front of me, that little bit of dissatisfaction was instantly thrown away.
"Wow!" Wuyou broke free from Pei Yu's hand and, like a bird out of its cage, he cheered and rushed to the beach, letting the warm water cover his ankles. He turned around and looked at Pei Yu with sparkling eyes, completely forgetting the "cold war". "Pei Yu! It's so beautiful here!"
Pei Yu looked at his excited back, the corners of his lips curled up slightly. He knew it would be like this.
The days that followed seemed to be soaked in honey.
They lived in an overwater villa with an infinity pool and direct beach access. During the day, Wuyou would either drag Peiyu snorkeling to see the colorful fish and corals, or she would just lounge on a beach chair, directing Peiyu to apply sunscreen while she, wearing sunglasses, peeked at her man, his rare casual shirt, his muscular features barely visible.
Pei Yu practically dropped all his work to accompany Wuyou the entire time. He patiently taught Wuyou to identify different marine creatures, and when Wuyou got tired and started playing, he resigned himself to carrying him back to the villa. He also walked with him on the soft sand at sunset, letting him play with his own shadow.
"Pei Yu, look! It's a hermit crab!" Wu You squatted on the beach, carefully poking a little guy crawling slowly.
Pei Yu stood behind him, his eyes fixed on his profile, which was gilded by the setting sun, and the white nape of his neck. "Yeah," he replied absentmindedly, feeling that the person before him was more beautiful than any other scenery.
In the evening, they enjoyed a candlelit dinner on the terrace, listening to the crashing of the waves and savoring the freshest local seafood. Wuyou would chatter about his day's experiences, and Peiyu would listen quietly, occasionally serving him food and wiping the sauce from the corners of his mouth.
"Pei Yu," Wu You drank a little wine, her cheeks slightly red, and looked at him with tearful eyes, with a hint of coquettishness, "Can we hang out more often in the future?"
"Okay." Pei Yu looked at him with deep and focused eyes. "Wherever you want to go, we'll go there."
Wuyou smiled with satisfaction and leaned over to give him a kiss on the lips.
Of course, the honeymoon wasn't all idyllic. Wuyou, on a whim, decided to learn surfing and ended up swallowing a bellyful of seawater, which Pei Yu scooped up with a scowl. He also secretly went to learn hula dancing from the villa staff, hoping to give Pei Yu a "surprise," but ended up twisting his ankle. Pei Yu pressed him to the sofa and rubbed him with medicated oil, causing him to grimace in pain.
But these little episodes eventually turned into unique memories of the trip, with fresh and vivid colors that belonged only to them.
On the last day of the trip, Pei Yu chartered a small sailboat and took Wuyou out to sea to watch the sunset.
As the huge orange-red fireball slowly sank below the sea level, dyeing the sky and sea into a magnificent oil painting, the whole world seemed to quiet down. Wuyou leaned in Pei Yu's arms, watching this breathtaking view, her heart filled with immense happiness.
"Pei Yu," he said softly, "thank you."
Thank you for your arrangements, thank you for your company, thank you... for giving me such a wonderful "honeymoon".
Pei Yu lowered his head and kissed the top of his head. His voice was particularly low and gentle in the sea breeze: "Idiot."
No thanks needed.
As long as you are by my side, all the scenery has meaning.
The sun had completely set, and the stars began to twinkle in the sky. Pei Yu, like a magician, pulled out a small velvet box, revealing a pair of platinum wedding rings of simple and elegant design.
Without further ado, he took Wuyou's hand and slowly placed the smaller ring on his ring finger. The size was a perfect fit.
Wuyou looked at the cool metal ring on his finger, then looked up at Pei Yu, his eyes warm. He picked up another ring and solemnly put it on Pei Yu.
Their fingers were interlocked, and the wedding rings gleamed faintly under the starlight.
"Let's go back." Pei Yu took him into his arms.
"Yeah." Wuyou nodded vigorously and held his hand tightly.
The private jet returned, laden with sunshine and sweet memories. But for Pei Yu and Wu You, their "honeymoon" would never end. Every day from now on, as long as they were by each other's side, would be like a honeymoon.

The private jet soared steadily at an altitude of ten thousand meters. Outside the window was a rolling sea of clouds and a deep blue sky. After two weeks of playful activity, Wuyou finally ran out of energy. He slumped in the large, soft seat, his head dozing off. He was still covered in Pei Yu's suit jacket, his breathing steady and long.
Pei Yu finished processing the last few urgent emails, closed his tablet, and tilted his head to look at the sleeping figure beside him. Wuyou looked particularly well-behaved in his sleep. His long eyelashes were like two small fans, casting a faint shadow under his eyelids. His eyes, always clever and cunning, were quietly closed, and his slightly parted lips were a natural pink. The sunlight filtered through the porthole and fell on his face, his skin so white that it was almost transparent.
Pei Yu's gaze finally settled on the platinum ring on his left ring finger. The simple band encircled the slender finger, a silent symbol of a vow and belonging. He held out his own hand. The same ring, worn on his bony finger, made him appear calm and resolute. He gently grasped Wu You's ring-covered hand, interlocking their fingers. The cool metal gradually warmed to his body's warmth.
Perhaps his movements disturbed the light sleeper, Wuyou drowsily opened his eyes and met Pei Yu's deep gaze. He was not yet fully awake, so he subconsciously rubbed against Pei Yu and asked vaguely with a heavy nasal voice: "...Are we there?"
"Not yet, sleep a little longer." Pei Yu responded in a low voice, pulling him into his arms, making him lean more comfortably.
Wuyou closed his eyes peacefully and soon fell asleep again. This time, the corners of his mouth were slightly raised.
The lights were already coming on when the plane touched down at Seoul Airport. As soon as I stepped onto familiar ground, vacation mode instantly shifted. My assistant and manager were already waiting outside, ready to take Wuyou back to the dorm and brief her on her itinerary for the next few days.
Wuyou watched the Seoul nightscape speeding by outside the car window, then glanced down at the ring on his finger. Suddenly, he felt a strong sense of reluctance to part with it. He turned his head to look at Pei Yu, who was still calm and composed beside him, and curled his lips: "I don't want to work..."
Pei Yu heard this, a smile flashed across his eyes, and he reached out and pinched the back of his neck, like stroking the fur of a grumpy kitten: "The vacation is over, Mrs. Pei."
This sudden address made Wu You's ears burn. He widened his eyes and subconsciously retorted: "Who, who is Mrs. Pei!"
"She's wearing the ring and having her honeymoon, so if she's not Mrs. Pei, then what is she?" Pei Yu raised his eyebrows, speaking as if it was a matter of course.
Wuyou was choked by him. Looking at Pei Yu's expression of "this is the truth," and then glancing at the wedding rings on their hands, the inexplicable embarrassment suddenly dissipated, replaced by a sweet, heart-filling sense of belonging. He snorted and turned away, but the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up.
The car first took Wuyou back to the dormitory arranged by the company. Before getting off the car, Wuyou hesitated and didn't want to move.
"I'll pick you up for dinner in two days." Pei Yu looked at his clingy appearance, his heart softened, and he made a promise.
"Oh." Wuyou responded, then slowly unbuckled his seat belt. He opened the car door, one foot had already stepped out, but suddenly turned around and quickly kissed Pei Yu on the lips.
"Let's go!" Without waiting for Pei Yu to react, he jumped out of the car like a frightened rabbit and ran into the apartment building without looking back.
Pei Yu watched his hurriedly fleeing figure, his fingertips stroking his lips, which seemed to still have a soft touch, and laughed softly. The assistant in the driver's seat was watching his nose and his heart, pretending to be invisible.
Returning to the empty, deserted penthouse, Pei Yu took off his coat and glanced across the living room, which still seemed to evoke the excitement of a young fox before its departure. He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked out over the dazzling city galaxy below.
The two-week trip was like a perfect stolen moment. No work, no interruptions, just him and his little fox, enjoying the pure world of two people under the sun, the beach and the starry sky.
Now, life is back on track. He has his business empire to manage, and Wuyou has his stage and dreams to pursue.
But some things have become increasingly different.
Pei Yu raised his hand, the ring on his ring finger gleaming warmly under the light. He knew that no matter whether the future brought them together or apart, whether they were in a bustling city or a quiet island, the ring of metal on his finger, and the person wearing the same ring in his dormitory, would be his eternal concern and his place of belonging.
The honeymoon will end, but their love will never end.
