Chapter 47 The Plan Fails

Habril's eyes instantly changed, and his words sounded like an interrogation. What was most infuriating was that, before Saenjiya could answer, Habril glared fiercely at Harigana and said, "Was it you! You're the one who made the Emperor punish me, aren't you?"

Harigana died unjustly. It's a good thing she didn't plead for her out of a saintly heart; she really didn't deserve it.

"Egeqi! How could I possibly make decisions for the Emperor!"

Harigana didn't want to talk too much with Haburi, so after answering his question, he stood aside and didn't say anything more.

"Habr, you are not as good as your Wuhendu. If it weren't for your sister, you wouldn't be the only one here today. Even your mother and your mother would be exiled with you, do you understand?"

Seingia wanted to explain things to her properly, but questioning Habril about why he did such a thing was pointless at this point. She could only try her best to make things easier for her over there.

Fortunately, Ningguta is not far from them, so they can go and visit it whenever they have time.

"You all get out! I don't need your fake kindness here!"

After Habril finished speaking, he grabbed the food box that Namuria had placed on the ground and started throwing it at them. Saenjiya, who was closest to him, was splashed with the soup and liquid.

"Mother!"

"Sengeya!"

Several people quickly went over and helped Senjiya up. Erdun and Harigana took out handkerchiefs to wipe the stains off her body. For a moment, no one paid attention to Haburi's movements.

Habril watched as they all gathered around Seingiya, quietly untied his clothes, stood up, and ran straight towards the door.

"return!"

"Habr!"

Baoli Ri and Namuria's voices rang out at the same time, and when Harigana turned around, he saw that Haburi had already rushed to the door.

Harigana wasn't worried about her escaping. Even with guards at the door, just one little Li would be enough to give Habril a hard time!

"Get out of my way! I need to see the Emperor! The Emperor, um!"

Habril had barely uttered a sound when she was firmly stopped at the door by the guards. Little Li quickly covered her mouth, so the words she was about to say instantly turned into sobs.

"Your Highness, it's almost time! We servants must prepare to leave!"

The guards dared not let the man stay there any longer. As for the time, Kangxi was just afraid that Haburi would pester Harigana, so he had Li Dequan give a random time.

"Mother!"

Harigana looked at the now-dressed Sengiya, then turned and went out to have Sengiya's personal maid fetch her clothes. Such stains would be unbecoming of her to outsiders.

After coming out, she didn't go back in. She couldn't bring herself to do something like offering a warm welcome only to be met with indifference. She really couldn't pretend, and given Habril's current mental state, it was best if he didn't see her!

"Harigana!"

A moment later, Senggia and the others came out.

"Mother!"

Harigana stepped forward to help Sengiya up, without saying a word. However, in front of Sengiya, she still instructed Dulan to go in and give the silver she had prepared to Habril, as a way of fulfilling their sisterly bond over the years.

No matter what happens in the future, as long as she has a clear conscience, that's enough!

Saenja looked at Harigana with relief, thinking that only someone with Harigana's personality could forgive past grievances and still prepare these things for her!

"Concubine!"

Seingia's personal maid returned and draped the cloak over her before the group left.

Habril was still sobbing angrily in her room, and it was unclear what she was trying to express.

Harigana knew that all he would want to do was plead for mercy and hurl insults. As for hatred, he probably would, but not now. He would only remember the kindness of Baoli Ri and his wife after suffering in Ningguta!

Bumbutai had been keeping an eye on the situation here, but he never expected that Kangxi would only deal with Haburi, and do so quietly without letting anyone know.

Where is the emperor now?

The Empress Dowager stood up, and Sumalagu immediately understood what she wanted to do. She quickly went up to help her and said, "Your Majesty, the Emperor should be dealing with memorials right now. He has just finished meeting with the leaders of several small tribes."

"Let's go! I'm going to see Xuan Ye!" Bumbutai, leaning on her cane and supported by Sumalagu, walked towards the direction of the imperial tent.

Emperor Kangxi is indeed reviewing memorials. He was supposed to deal with some last night, but the incident delayed him. Although he had Li Dequan take them to Harigana for a while this morning, there are still a few important ones he hasn't finished reading.

"Your Majesty! The Empress Dowager is coming this way!" Upon receiving the news, Li Dequan hurriedly went inside to report to Emperor Kangxi.

This Empress Dowager is definitely not the type to visit unless she has a reason; I just don't know what it was for this time.

Kangxi knew perfectly well what was going on; it was probably because of the Habril affair. He could keep this from anyone else, but he couldn't hide it from the Empress Dowager!

With that in mind, he decided that once he returned, he would thoroughly investigate the palace and remove all the hidden weapons that did not belong to him.

"Okay! Prepare milk tea. If Grandmother comes, just bring her in!"

Kangxi lowered his head and continued reviewing the memorials, saying no more. Li Dequan understood and quickly went out to make arrangements.

Sure enough, a short while later, Kangxi heard Li Dequan's greeting. He put down his vermilion brush and got up to welcome the Empress Dowager in.

"Grandmother, it's so hot outside, why did you come all by yourself? If there's anything you need, you could have just sent someone to call me and I would have come to see you!"

Kangxi helped Bumbutai, and Sumalagu and the others tactfully sat down with the Empress Dowager, placed a bowl of milk tea on the table, and then withdrew.

"It's not that I'm too nagging to walk. It's good to get some exercise so I don't feel like I'm going to rust."

After finishing her sentence, Bumbutai picked up a cup of milk tea, took a sip, and then slowly asked, "What are you going to do with that girl from last night?"

The Empress Dowager seemed to have no involvement whatsoever, showing no remorse whatsoever when she asked the question.

Kangxi sighed inwardly. He truly hadn't expected the Empress Dowager to question him so openly. It seemed she was really getting old, acting without considering the consequences.

"Grandmother, I have already exiled him to Ningguta!"

Bumbutai paused, turned to look at Kangxi, and asked, "Was it just that girl who was exiled?"

"So, what does Grandmother mean?"

Emperor Kangxi was displeased. Was this an attempt to clear the way for the Khorchin? Or was he still determined to take Harigana's life?
