Observing celestial phenomena, she was struck by lightning.
Perhaps there is no one more unlucky than Jiang Ran, a grandmaster of the mysterious gates.
Just after traveling through time...
Chapter 61 The Method Was Wrong
Si Youlin pondered for a moment, and seeing that Si Zuochen was about to make a move, he gently tugged at his sleeve and shook his head at him, signaling him not to act rashly.
Si Zuochen frowned, suppressing his anxiety, and looked up at Jiang Ran, his eyes full of doubt.
Just then, Jiang Ran met his gaze, raised an eyebrow, and then turned her head away, no longer looking at him.
Si Zuochen felt as if he had been provoked.
"Why aren't you coming over?" Old Master Si asked softly when he saw Jiang Ran standing not far away, and then waved his hand.
Jiang Ran smiled slightly and took a few steps closer: "They are all very concerned about you, but I know you are fine, so I didn't want to bother them by getting too close."
Hearing her say that, Old Master Si suddenly chuckled and looked up at Si Zuochen, and sure enough, he saw that his face was ugly.
He has always been the one who questions Jiang Ran the most. Isn't Jiang Ran's words a veiled reference to him?
The mother and son now seem to be bickering like children.
"He was just confused because he was worried," Old Master Si explained on behalf of Si Zuochen. "Don't blame him."
"No." Jiang Ran shook her head, then continued, "I would never argue with a child."
"You!" Si Zuochen was about to speak when he suddenly remembered something, pursed his lips, and suppressed his temper.
Jiang Ran smiled slightly, a sly glint in her eyes.
He had just mocked me for so long, speaking with such conviction, so I had to retaliate with a few words.
Grandpa Si pretended not to have heard their underhanded struggle and looked at Jiang Ran, saying gently, "Thank you so much this time."
"It's nothing." Jiang Ran shook her head: "You are my elder, this is my duty to show filial piety."
Then he explained, "Don't worry about the black blood you just spat out. It was just stagnant blood in your lungs. It's actually a good thing that it came out."
Old Master Si smiled and sighed softly, "So that's how it is. No wonder I feel much better."
Jiang Ran lowered her eyes and looked down. She had already opened her third eye and could see the condition inside his body directly through his body.
A cloud of black energy was gathered in his chest cavity, and the strangeness of his body was due to these ghostly things.
She has only managed to suppress it temporarily.
Thinking of this, Jiang Ran reminded her, "If you want a complete cure, further treatment will be needed."
"If you are comfortable with this, then I will take care of your next treatment."
Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen was about to refuse when he heard the person involved readily agree: "Okay, but thank you for your trouble."
Jiang Ran smiled slightly but did not respond.
Si Zuochen, however, did not understand his grandfather's decision. Why not use a top-notch doctor instead of someone like her who learned the skills halfway through her career?
She looked up at Jiang Ran, her eyes filled with disgust.
Has she bewitched Grandpa? Why does he believe her so easily?
Jiang Ran noticed Si Zuochen's scrutinizing gaze, but pretended not to notice and slowly said, "The banquet is still in progress. As the main character, wouldn't it be inappropriate for you to be away for too long?"
"There are still some matters at the banquet that require your assistance."
Upon hearing this, Grandpa Si realized that too much time had been wasted due to acupuncture.
Originally, she simply wanted to ease the tension between the mother and son, but she never expected that it would also lead to her needing medical treatment.
"Alright." Old Master Si smiled, his eyes showing approval as he looked at Jiang Ran, before getting up and leaving.
As soon as he left, everyone followed, leaving Jiang Ran alone in the study. Before leaving, Si Youlin gave her a meaningful look, then turned away.
Jiang Ran lowered her eyes, sighed softly, and then turned and left.
Although the poison of corpses can be cured, the process is quite complicated, requiring acupuncture and medication in addition to treatment.
Now that she had agreed, she needed to go to the herbal medicine shop first to prepare the necessary items.
Just past the front hall, as he walked down a secluded path, he noticed someone following him and turned around.
"How come it's you?" Jiang Ran looked at Si Youlin in front of her, somewhat surprised.
What's going on today? Are the two of them stalking each other?
Si Youlin pursed his lips, walked up to her, and asked coldly, "What did you do to the silver needles?"
Jiang Ran was taken aback upon hearing this, then realized what he meant, raised an eyebrow, and looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze.
He actually noticed that I had tampered with the silver needles. No wonder he hadn't said a word before; he had been observing me in secret all along.
Then a hint of approval flashed in his eyes. I must say, his observation skills are quite sharp.
"What did you see?" Jiang Ran asked, taking a step forward to face Si Youlin directly, then adding a slight lift to her voice, "Hmm?"
Faced with the sudden sense of oppression, Si Youlin unconsciously took a step back.
Then, forcing himself to remain calm, he replied, "Your technique for handling the silver needles is incorrect."
"Oh?" Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow, looking surprised. "You know that?"
A hint of pride flashed between Si Youlin's brows as he explained, "I've seen doctors perform acupuncture on my grandfather many times. Each time the doctor was different, but the techniques were roughly the same."
"There is no one like you, who is completely unlike anyone else."
Hearing his answer, Jiang Ran pursed her lips, lowered her head and pondered for a moment before slowly replying, "Mm..."
Si Youlin's eyes suddenly lit up, and he asked, "You admit it?"
He thought he had caught her red-handed, but to his surprise, she slowly shook her head and denied it.
"But I haven't received any systematic training. I'm just a self-taught person, so it's normal that my methods are wrong, right?"
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin's face showed a hint of struggle: "I don't believe it. If you're someone who started out halfway through and isn't very skilled, how could you suppress my grandfather so easily after all these years of not finding a way to cure his illness?"
Jiang Ran touched her forehead and said in a calm voice, "It was just a coincidence."
Si Youlin clearly didn't believe it and was about to refute it when Si Zuochen's voice came from behind him.
What are you doing?
Then he quickly walked up to Jiang Ran, shielding Si Youlin behind him, his face full of defensiveness.
Seeing his action, Jiang Ran couldn't help but purse her lips. What did he mean by that?
Could she possibly eat Si Youlin?
"I'm warning you, stay away from my brother!" Si Zuochen said sternly.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow and scoffed, "Please get your facts straight. Who came with me first?"
Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen turned and glanced at Si Youlin. He saw that the latter had lowered his head, knowing that he was in the wrong but unwilling to admit that it was his fault.
He then looked up and met her gaze, saying coldly, "Don't think your feigned sincerity can fool everyone. Let me tell you, Grandpa's matter isn't over yet, and I'll be keeping an eye on you!"
"Whatever," Jiang Ran replied casually, showing no concern whatsoever.
Seeing that Jiang Ran was unmoved by his provocation, Si Zuochen couldn't help but want to provoke her. Suddenly, an idea came to him, and he asked aloud.
Do you know how your father got into the car accident?
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran was taken aback; this was the first time she had ever heard him mention the word "father."
Why ask her about something like this? What does it have to do with her?
He then shook his head and replied, "I don't know. Why are you asking this?"
Si Zuochen suddenly gave a mocking laugh: "What a coincidence, I know a little bit..."
"Wait!" Jiang Ran interrupted him abruptly, suddenly realizing why he had brought up this topic.
Either you want to beg him to tell you the truth, or the result is not satisfactory.
Clearly, she didn't want to get involved in either case.
To him, Si Yanxiao was nothing more than a "treasure trove" that could absorb spiritual energy, but otherwise he was like a complete stranger.
Thinking of this, he refused outright, saying, "I don't know, and I don't want to know. I don't need you to tell me."
"After all, this has nothing to do with me."
Having said that, he turned and left without even looking at their expressions.
What good things could possibly come out of his mouth?
She's not just looking for trouble because she has nothing better to do.
Seeing Jiang Ran leave so resolutely, Si Zuochen's face showed a hint of surprise.
Realizing her plan had failed, she couldn't help but say bitterly, "What a heartless woman! She doesn't even care about her own husband!"
Si Youlin listened from the side, a hint of doubt flashing through his mind, and asked, "Brother, so why did Father fall into a coma?"
Si Zuochen lowered his eyes, hesitated for a moment, and then replied, "I found out by chance. I heard that he eloped with his first love and got into a car accident."
"What?" Si Youlin looked shocked, not expecting there to be such a scene behind the scenes.
