Molly went along with her sister to the...

Chapter 125 Something Got Wrong

At the dinner table, the female secretary was reserved and didn't eat much. Brother Biao and He Pan chatted and didn't eat much either. Only Molly didn't stop eating from beginning to end, and her appetite shocked the female secretary and Brother Biao across from her.

After Molly finished eating, she turned her head and saw a phone at the restaurant front desk. She stood up and said to He Pan, "I'll go make a call."

He Pan nodded. "Ask Fengzi if Uncle Geng has prepared our goods."

"You don't have Uncle Geng's phone number?" Molly looked at He Pan with suspicion in her eyes.

He Pan's lips twitched. "Do you think I'm such an unreliable person?"

Molly nodded.

He Pan sighed and rubbed his forehead. "What made you have this misconception? I have Uncle Geng's phone number, but I'm not familiar with him, am I? Let Fengzi contact him; he'll be more proactive."

Molly expressed her understanding, but she felt that He Pan was making a fuss over nothing. However, she didn't say anything and turned to walk towards the hotel front desk.

You can borrow a phone, but it costs money.

Without saying a word, Molly handed five dollars to the receptionist, who took the money with a smile and handed the phone to Molly, saying, "You can only talk for five minutes at most."

Molly dialed the number skillfully, and the other end answered quickly; it was Ji Hefeng who answered the phone.

"I guess you guys should be arriving around this time," Ji Hefeng's voice came through the receiver.

"I've arrived safely. Just letting you know I'm home safely. Is everything alright at home?"

"Everything is fine, except for a few of the younger ones who are a bit unruly. They're all as strong as calves, and I can hardly keep up with their energy. I should let them join the army in the future; their physique is perfect for them."

"Look at their ambitions."

"However, they are also very intelligent and good at scientific research."

"...They're still young, it's too early for you to make a decision. He Pan asked me to ask you, has Uncle Geng prepared the goods?"

"It's all ready. Have him contact Uncle Geng, and he'll arrange for someone to deliver the goods immediately. Also, Uncle Geng has a small gift for you."

"Didn't we already deliver those two cars?"

"Those two cars were wedding gifts."

"Uncle Geng, you're being too kind. Shouldn't we return the favor?"

"No need. If our elders are willing to give it, we will accept it."

His familiar tone made you think Uncle Geng was his biological father.

At the dinner table, Biao Ge noticed that He Pan's gaze hadn't left Molly and asked curiously, "Is this because you love her but can't have her?"

The female secretary pricked up her ears, her face remaining impassive; she loved listening to gossip.

He Pan looked away, utterly shocked. "Don't say that, or you'll lose your life."

Brother Biao was also surprised, "We can't even talk about it? Is that Fengzi so domineering?"

“It’s not that he’s domineering, his wife is his life. And both he and his wife saved my life.” Seeing that Brother Biao didn’t believe him, He Pan didn’t explain further. “I treat her like a younger sister. Don’t say anything that might cause misunderstandings in the future.”

Brother Biao nodded, "Okay, I won't say. You've come all this way, stay a few more days, I'll show you around."

He Pan shook his head, "No, I have important business to attend to."

Brother Biao didn't ask anything important.

After the meal, Brother Biao dropped He Pan and Molly off at the hotel and then left.

Molly went back to the hotel, took a shower, washed her clothes, and hung them on the balcony of her room. It was windy at night, so the clothes would be dry by tomorrow.

She slept soundly until evening, only to be woken up by He Pan's knocking on the door. He Pan had gone out for dinner and packed her a meal: half a roast goose, a lotus root soup, and seafood fried rice.

"We'll head to the dock at six o'clock tomorrow morning," He Pan said.

Molly nodded. "You're leaving after taking the goods?"

"Yes, take the goods and leave." He Pan said with a hint of urgency. What he didn't say was that he was afraid someone would take a fancy to his batch of goods.

Molly understood that this meant packing her things first thing tomorrow morning and not going back to the hotel.

After having dinner and washing up, Molly went back to sleep.

She opened her eyes at 5:30 the next day, washed up, packed her things, and opened her door at 6:00, where she met He Pan, who was about to knock on the door.

“Let’s go,” Molly said.

He Pan followed, saying, "I hope today goes well."

Molly glanced at He Pan with surprise, "You seem a little flustered today."

"I can't explain why, but I feel uneasy." He Pan felt unwell.

Molly frowned slightly. "Stay close to me today."

He Pan exhaled a breath of stale air. "Perfect timing, that's what I was planning to do too."

When the car arrived at the dock, Molly noticed that He Pan had a large brick in his hand.

“I just bought this yesterday, it’s convenient for making phone calls,” He Pan said.

Molly asked curiously, "Is this a cell phone?"

"Want one? I'll buy you one when we get back." He Pan handed the phone to Molly.

Molly took it in her hand and looked at it, then shook her head. "Too expensive. And too big. I'll buy it when it gets smaller."

He Pan was surprised by Molly's answer. He smiled, picked up his phone and started making calls, but no one answered after several attempts.

The sea was bustling with ships coming and going. He Pan squinted and looked into the distance, guessing that perhaps one of these ships had their cargo on board.

Molly was also looking at the ships and the opposite bank. The distance was very short; if the ships came directly from the other side, it would be very close, taking only a few minutes to reach the port. But she knew that wasn't the case. Ji Hefeng had said that the goods hadn't even entered the port city.

Where would it be?

As dawn broke, neither Molly nor He Pan had eaten breakfast, nor had the drivers. There was a food stall nearby, and He Pan gave Shen Yu some money, asking him to take some people to buy some.

Breakfast included steamed buns, mantou (steamed bread), glutinous rice balls, rice noodles, and porridge. He Pan, preoccupied with the goods, had no appetite and only ate a few bites before stopping. Molly, however, was unaffected, eating the rest of the food one bite after another.

He Pan made several more calls, but still couldn't get through. After thinking for a moment, he dialed Ji Hefeng in Beijing.

Molly listened from the side, watching Ji Hefeng and He Pan talk, and seeing He Pan's expression grow increasingly serious.

After hanging up the phone, He Pan said, "Fengzi gave us a sea coordinate, which is for a small island nearby, and told us to go and take a look."

Ji Hefeng also said that we should only watch from a distance and not get close.

He Pan went to rent a boat and returned with a medium-sized fishing boat.

He Pan and Molly led six people onto the fishing boat, while Shen Yu and the rest stayed on the shore to wait.

This was Molly's first time on a boat. The sea breeze carried a salty smell and felt sticky on her skin, not as refreshing as the mountain forest.

The ship's diesel engines roared to life. He Pan shouted to Molly, "Are you feeling dizzy?"

Molly shook her head. "I'm not dizzy."

“Time is tight, so we can only rent a fishing boat. Next time I’ll rent a cruise ship and take you out to sea,” He Pan said. “We’ll invite Fengzi and a few of our nephews and nieces too. We can fish, eat fish, and swim in the sea on the boat.”

Molly imagined the scene and thought it was feasible. "Hmm, let's do it together next time."

The fishing boat sped forward, the vast sea stretching endlessly before them, with no end in sight. Molly thought of Mo An and his children; wouldn't it be difficult for them to endure spending more than a month on this boundless ocean?

When they return, she will remind them to take a plane.

“There’s a boat ahead, I wonder if it belongs to Uncle Geng,” He Pan said.

Molly snapped out of her daze and saw the large ship ahead. He Pan then started making another call, and surprisingly, it went through.

Twenty minutes later, Molly and He Pan and the others boarded the large ship.

They were greeted by a young man in a suit and tie, in his thirties, with his hair parted in a 3/7 style, heavily coated with hair wax, shiny and glossy, and with a pair of captivating eyes who smiled before even speaking.

Such a handsome and refined man would make a good first impression on anyone.

"Hello, my surname is Sun. You can call me Assistant Sun. I've been working for Mr. Geng for six years." Assistant Sun was very polite.

He Pan extended his hand to the other person, "Hello, Assistant Sun, I am He Pan."

The two shook hands, Sun Zhu's smile never fading. "I've long admired Mr. He's name. Isn't there also Mr. Ji, who isn't here?"

“Mr. Ji is in Beijing. He didn’t come, but his wife did.” He Pan pointed to Molly, “This is Ms. Molly.”

A look of amazement flashed in Sun Zhu's eyes. "Miss Molly is really beautiful."

The praise was very sincere, but after praising him, she turned her attention back to He Pan, demonstrating excellent judgment.

He Pan nodded inwardly. As expected of someone who had followed Uncle Geng for six years, his manners were impeccable.

Sun explained that the signal was poor at sea, which was why he hadn't received He Pan's call. He also said that other matters had caused the delay in delivering the goods this morning. He bowed and apologized to He Pan.

He Pan naturally said it was nothing, and the two chatted happily.

Molly stood silently to the side, her gaze fixed on the sea, seemingly mesmerized by the view. After a while, she asked Sun Zhu, "Can I go take a look over there?"

“Of course,” Sun Zhu said with a smile. “Should we send someone to accompany Miss Molly?”

Molly shook her head. "No need, I'm just taking a walk."

Sun Zhu didn't press the matter, saying, "Miss Molly, please be careful."

“I will.” Molly turned and walked towards the stern of the ship, her steps slow and deliberate, occasionally pausing to admire the scenery, displaying a leisurely demeanor.

However, out of sight of others, she twitched her nose, her beautiful eyes narrowing slightly, smelling a strong stench of blood.

Inside the cabin, the deliberately hushed voices reached her ears clearly.

"Why hasn't Assistant Sun made a move yet?" one of the voices asked.

"We haven't even received the final payment yet, what's the rush?" another voice replied.

"Assistant Sun promised that he would give us this amount once we reach the shore!"

Molly guessed that the other person was gesturing with their fingers, and she heard a gasp and a gasp of ecstasy.

"If you ask me, since Mr. Geng has no children, this estate should be left to Sun Zhu. After all, Sun Zhu respected Mr. Geng like a father, and went through fire and water for him, risking his life and making great contributions. But Mr. Geng is too dishonest. Not only did he not give the money to Sun Zhu, but he also wanted to leave it to Ji Hefeng, who has never appeared. Who is he? What makes him comparable to Sun Zhu? No wonder Sun Zhu rebelled."

"Mr. Geng is only fifty years old, and he has quite a few women around him, so why doesn't he have any children?"

"I heard that he injured his body more than ten years ago, and that's why he can't do that anymore."

"Then he has so many women—"

"It's displayed for outsiders to see."

"Hehehehe..."

This was followed by a burst of lewd laughter.

The next second, the laughter suddenly stopped, and the men's smiles froze on their faces. They died without ever understanding what had happened.

Their eyes slowly unfocused, and as they breathed their last, they saw a slender figure slowly walking towards them.
