Chapter One: Suspicion Arises

After Qin Man's meaningful words, Ayu outwardly maintained her usual routine, getting up early every day to prepare breakfast, managing household chores, and appearing nonchalant to others. But whenever the night was quiet, those words haunted her like a ghost, impossible to shake off. She knew she couldn't continue living in such a muddled state; she had to uncover the secrets hidden behind her origins.

So, Ayu began using her spare time to sit in front of the computer, entering keywords related to past business disputes into various search engines, and flipping through the search results page by page, not letting go of any potentially useful information. She also went to the library, rummaging through dusty old newspapers, carefully searching for reports about the changing business landscape by year.

As Ayu collected more and more information, she gradually discovered that the past business disputes always revolved around a few large companies, with Ruifeng Group appearing particularly frequently. Seeing Ruifeng Group's name constantly appearing in the newspapers, Ayu's vague feeling grew stronger. She felt that her identity was definitely inextricably linked to this group, and perhaps, unraveling the mysteries of her own past would reveal the secrets of her origins.

In order to obtain more inside information, Ayu began to utilize her network of contacts. She first called some seniors she had met in business activities, subtly inquiring whether they knew anyone at Ruifeng Group. Her efforts paid off; after many twists and turns, she finally contacted a retired employee who had worked at Ruifeng Group. After hearing Ayu's purpose on the phone, the employee hesitated for a moment, but still agreed to meet with her, saying that some things were better discussed in person.

Ayu was filled with both joy and nervousness. She carefully chose a relatively quiet and secluded coffee shop as the meeting place, hoping to have a proper talk with the other person there. She left early, her heart brimming with anticipation and trepidation, and headed towards the coffee shop.

Chapter Two: The First Signs of Crisis

Ayu walked along the bustling street, glancing back every now and then, always feeling as if a pair of eyes were watching her from the shadows. At first, she thought she was just being overly sensitive; after all, with something on her mind, it's easy to be paranoid. But when she deliberately wandered around a few more streets and found that the figure was still faintly following behind her, her heart jumped into her throat.

The stalker was cunning, always maintaining a certain distance. He moved quickly when Ayu moved fast and slowly when she moved slow, cleverly concealing himself in the crowd. Ayu knew she was being watched, but she didn't know who the stalker was or what their purpose was. But at this moment, she absolutely didn't want to give up the opportunity to meet the retired employee; it might be a crucial step in unraveling the mystery of her past.

Ayu forced herself to calm down. She first entered a large shopping mall, wandering through the maze of people, moving between different floors, occasionally slipping into shops and exiting through another door. She thought this would shake off her follower, but when she came out of another exit of the mall, she turned around and still saw that sneaky figure.

Left with no other option, Ayu hailed another taxi and asked the driver to head to the other side of the city. She changed taxis several times along the way, but the stalker was like an inescapable shadow, always following closely behind. Time ticked by, and the agreed meeting time with the retired employee drew ever closer. Ayu was extremely anxious, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

Finally, seeing that she couldn't shake off her pursuers, Ayu gritted her teeth and had to abandon the meeting, asking the driver to take her home. On the way, she felt incredibly heavy-hearted. The opportunity she had worked so hard for was gone, and she was being watched by unidentified people; the road ahead for the investigation would likely be fraught with difficulties.

Back home, Ayu sat on the sofa, her mind reeling. She knew her investigation had attracted the attention of certain forces, but she had no way out; she had to continue her investigation no matter what.

Chapter Three: Mysterious Warning

Ayu opened the door to her house, looking distraught. As soon as she entered, she sensed something was amiss. Her gaze swept to the coffee table in the living room, where a note lay starkly in the distance. On it were written a few chilling words: "Stop investigating, or you will face the consequences." Ayu's hand trembled uncontrollably, and the note fell to the floor.

She was terrified, countless thoughts flashing through her mind. Who left the note? Was it the person who was following her, or was there a much larger force behind it? How much did they know about her investigation, and why were they trying to stop her from continuing?

Ayu sat on the sofa for a long time, her fear gradually replaced by a stubbornness and determination. She thought to herself, she had already come this far, how could she give up because of such a threat? She was determined to find out about her origins, and even if there was an abyss ahead, she would never back down.

However, Ayu understood that she couldn't act as recklessly as before. She decided to change her strategy, gathering information through more discreet channels while minimizing her exposure. She began contacting her less conspicuous friends more frequently, trying to learn about Ruifeng Group's past through them, while also searching for relevant clues online anonymously.

However, each exploration made Ayu feel like she was walking on thin ice. She was always worried that she might be being watched again, or that she might receive even more terrifying warnings. But even so, she did not stop. The mystery of her origins was like a powerful magnet, attracting her to keep moving forward.
