Upon arriving at the abandoned sanatorium, the police split into several small teams and quietly infiltrated. Ayu followed behind one of the teams, feeling both nervous and excited. She knew that this operation might yield great results, but it could also lead to greater danger.

They were cautiously searching the sanatorium when suddenly, a squad triggered an alarm. Instantly, the sanatorium's alarms blared, lights came on, and a group of members from a mysterious organization rushed out of the rooms, attacking the police and Ayu's group. A fierce gunfight ensued.

Chapter Seventeen: Key Clues

In the midst of the fierce firefight, Ayu hid in a corner and saw a room with its door ajar, seemingly containing some documents and boxes. Ignoring the danger, she took advantage of the chaos and ran towards that room.

Upon entering the room, she found some documents on the table, which recorded some transactions related to the Lin family back then, as well as some internal accounts of a mysterious organization. Although she did not find direct evidence left by her parents, these were enough to prove their illegal activities.

Ayu quickly packed the documents into her bag and prepared to leave. At that moment, the gunfire outside subsided, and the police seemed to have the situation under control. Just as Ayu stepped out of the room, she saw a man in black charging towards her with a gun raised. Terrified, she closed her eyes.

Just at this critical moment, a policeman arrived in time, shot and killed the man in black, and saved Ayu.

The police took Ayu and the documents they found and left the abandoned sanatorium. After careful analysis of the documents, they discovered many important clues and roughly identified some key figures who were involved in framing the Lin family back then.
