The Mad Pursuit of a Beauty

I. The Beginning of the Chase

At the chaotic engagement banquet, when Ah Yu burst in like a whirlwind, ignoring everyone's astonished gazes, and forcibly took Lin Wanqing away, Gu Yanting's smug smile instantly froze, replaced by extreme rage. His eyes were bloodshot, like an enraged beast, as he roared through gritted teeth, "Chase them! We absolutely cannot let them get away!"

At Gu Yanting's command, his well-trained bodyguards sprang into action like wolves. They quickly split into several groups; one group rushed to the parking lot, started the black luxury cars that had been prepared beforehand, and the roar of the engines instantly shattered the originally festive atmosphere of the engagement banquet; the other group ran wildly down the street in the direction that Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing had fled, attempting to intercept them by tracking their movements.

At this moment, Ah Yu tightly gripped Lin Wanqing's hand, running desperately through the street. Lin Wanqing, dressed in an elegant gown, found it difficult to move, but with Ah Yu's firm pull, she didn't care about anything else, stumbling along with Ah Yu. Her heart was filled with both fear of the unknown and a strange excitement and relief; after all, she was no longer forced to get engaged to someone she didn't love.

II. Street Chase

"Quick! They ran that way!" a bodyguard shouted, pointing in the direction Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing had fled. The black luxury cars sped away like black lightning, their wheels screeching against the pavement. Pedestrians on the street were startled by the sudden commotion and scattered in all directions, screams and shouts filling the air.

Ah Yu keenly sensed the pursuit behind him. He turned his head and saw that the luxury cars were gradually closing in. He frowned, quickly thinking of a way to deal with the situation. Suddenly, he noticed a narrow alley ahead. Without hesitation, he pulled Lin Wanqing and plunged into it.

However, Gu Yanting's bodyguards did not give up. Relying on their familiarity with the area, they quickly split into two groups: one continued to pursue along the alley, while the other circled around to the other end of the alley, attempting to launch a pincer attack.

A damp smell permeated the alley, flanked by mottled walls. Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing ran through the narrow alley, the footsteps of the bodyguards growing ever closer behind them. Lin Wanqing was starting to tire, her steps beginning to falter. "Ah Yu, I... I can't run anymore..." she gasped.

"Hold on! We'll definitely get rid of them!" Ah Yu encouraged Lin Wanqing, his heart pounding with anxiety. He knew that if they were caught by Gu Yanting's men, the consequences would be unimaginable. Just then, a corner piled with junk appeared ahead. Ah Yu had a sudden idea and pulled Lin Wanqing behind the junk, barely daring to breathe.

A moment later, the bodyguards' footsteps stopped abruptly at the corner. "Where is he? How did he suddenly disappear?" one bodyguard asked, puzzled. "Search carefully! He must be nearby!" another bodyguard ordered fiercely.

Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing hid behind the clutter, their hearts pounding in their chests as they listened to the bodyguards searching the surroundings. Lin Wanqing gripped Ah Yu's clothes tightly, her nails almost digging into his flesh. Ah Yu gently patted Lin Wanqing's hand, signaling her to be quiet.

III. Perilous Situation

After a thorough search, the bodyguards found no trace of Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing. They assumed the two had escaped from the other end of the alley, so they hurriedly chased after them towards the alley's exit.

After Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing's bodyguards' footsteps completely disappeared, they cautiously emerged from behind the clutter. "We need to get out of here quickly; they're definitely still nearby," Ah Yu said. The two resumed their escape, emerging from the other end of the alley and arriving at a relatively bustling street.

The bustling streets provided some cover for Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing. They blended into the crowd, trying their best to remain inconspicuous. However, Gu Yanting's bodyguards were no pushovers either. They searched the nearby streets, occasionally stopping passersby to ask if they had seen a couple passing by.

Just as Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing thought they had successfully shaken off their pursuers, a sharp-eyed bodyguard spotted them. "There they are! Grab them!" the bodyguard shouted, leading several of his companions as they rushed towards Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing.

Ah Yu had a bad feeling. He looked around and spotted a subway station not far away. "Quick, to the subway station!" He grabbed Lin Wanqing and ran towards the station. The subway station was bustling with people, even more noisy and chaotic. Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing weaved through the crowd, trying to shake off the bodyguards behind them.

They passed through security smoothly and arrived at the platform. Just then, a subway train slowly pulled into the station. Ah Yu pulled Lin Wanqing and hurriedly squeezed onto the train. The moment the doors closed, the bodyguards arrived at the platform, watching helplessly as the subway carrying Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing drove away, stomping their feet in anger.

IV. Subway Twists and Turns

Inside the subway car, Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing found a corner to stand in, panting heavily. They nervously observed the people around them, worried that Gu Yanting's men had also boarded the subway.

After a few stops, the carriage became increasingly crowded. Suddenly, Lin Wanqing felt someone tugging at her bag. She turned around alertly and saw a flustered pickpocket. "What are you doing!" Lin Wanqing shouted.

Seeing that he had been discovered, the thief tried to break free and escape. Ah Yu reacted quickly, grabbing the thief's arm. "Hand over the stuff!" Ah Yu shouted angrily. The thief retorted viciously, "Kid, mind your own business, or you'll regret it!" As he spoke, he pulled out a small knife from his waist and brandished it at Ah Yu.
