Chapter 172 Extra Four
Fu Jingchen's route: Parallel world setting, sweet male mother route, 1v1 HE ending.
[The Capable Husband Edition]
Ms. Ruan once thought that her good boyfriend would become a silent and incompetent husband in the future.
She thought that as long as she didn't leave, the man would tolerate her misbehavior, but she was wrong.
The man's control seems to emerge gradually.
By the time she discovered that her boyfriend even interfered with her rare free time when she wanted to stay up late to play games, it was already too late.
Not long after Ruan Yigang left the sheltered environment of his mother's pampering, he was caught again by "Aunt Fu".
Fu Jingchen, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy her jokingly referred to role as "mother" every single day.
Before the morning light pierced through the heavy blackout curtains, the bedroom was shrouded in a soft, warm darkness.
Ruan Yi curled up in the quilt, her small face buried in the fluffy pillow, her breathing even, without even moving her eyelashes.
Fu Jingchen woke up promptly at 6:30. He didn't have an alarm clock; his years of habit made him more punctual than a clock.
Of course, this was under the condition that Ruan Yi did not allow him to indulge himself the night before.
He didn't get up immediately. Instead, he turned to the side, his gaze falling on the sleeping face of the person next to him, his fingertips lightly brushing against a stray strand of hair that had fallen across her forehead.
After staring at her for a while, the man carefully removed his arm, which was being entangled by the girl, without making a sound.
The man walked to the bedside table, picked up Ruan Yi's phone, and turned off all the dozen or so alarms she had set to ring every few minutes starting at 7:00.
Ruan Yi had a project to discuss today, but in the man's eyes, her behavior of setting alarm after alarm to torture her nerves because she was afraid of missing something by sleeping in, yet couldn't bear to give up her bed in the early morning, was no less than self-harm.
He certainly wouldn't let his girlfriend's alarm clock ring even once.
After turning off the alarms one by one, Fu Jingchen gently placed the phones back in their original positions, even at the exact same angle as before.
After doing all that, he picked up the sportswear draped over the back of the chair, quietly opened the bedroom door, and gently closed it again, without the door hinges making a single scraping sound.
Changing clothes, going downstairs, putting on shoes, opening the door—a series of actions performed smoothly and effortlessly—she strode towards the morning jogging path outside the villa.
Men don't exercise for too long. Forty minutes later, his collar was soaked with sweat, and he turned back on time, ready to go home and make breakfast for his girlfriend.
When he got home, Fu Jingchen didn't go straight into the master bedroom. Instead, he went into the guest room bathroom and closed the bathroom door tightly, afraid that the steam and noise would drift into the master bedroom and disturb the girl's sweet dreams.
After drying himself off, he didn't put on a shirt, but took out the apron with Hello Kitty pattern that Ruan Yi had specially bought for him and tied it around his waist.
The knot at the back of the apron was just right at the waistline, outlining the firm lines of her waist and abdomen, and her fair skin still had a faint blush from having just taken a shower.
There are still twenty minutes until the last alarm clock time that Ruan Yi set, just enough time for him to prepare breakfast.
This time, Mr. Fu learned his lesson and made sure the master bedroom door was tightly closed. Last time, because he hadn't closed the door properly, the aroma of breakfast wafted into the bedroom early, waking Ruan Yi up and causing him to lose half an hour of sleep. As punishment, he wasn't allowed to have sex a second time that night.
The man remembered it well, and from then on, whenever he made flavorful food, he would close the door tightly.
Today's breakfast was the soufflé that Ruan Yi had mentioned. He has gone from knowing nothing about pastry baking to being able to make all kinds of delicious desserts with ease.
From catering to Ruan Yi's picky taste in Chinese food, which she disliked, to mastering the art of making authentic Chinese cuisine.
Fu Jingchen doesn't like sweets, but Ruan Yi likes them and he'll eat them with her. But when Ruan Yi found out that he didn't like them and still ate so much that his stomach hurt, she scolded him severely and forbade him from doing it again.
Unfortunately, one day Ruan Yi happened to chat with Assistant Li about desserts... and things quickly spiraled out of control.
This damn "warm-hearted Li" has a lot of insights into desserts; he's practically become best friends with Ruan Yi.
He couldn't stand seeing his girlfriend always hanging out with Assistant Li to enjoy desserts, so he turned around and signed up for a baking course. Now he can make fluffy, non-collapsed soufflés in just half a month.
With a soft "ding" from the oven, two plump soufflés came out, fluffy like clouds, with an enticing golden-brown surface.
He carefully transferred the soufflé to a white porcelain plate, evenly covering the surface with Oreo crumbs, and the sweet aroma instantly filled the kitchen.
The girl was very picky; she liked sweets but not too sweet. It took him a long time to figure out exactly what level of sweetness was just right.
Although he still wasn't used to the cloying taste of desserts, the thought of Ruan Yi's bright eyes when she ate sweets made his lips unconsciously curl up.
As he took off his apron, Fu Jingchen glanced down at his bare upper body, a barely perceptible smile flashing in his eyes. Sometimes food didn't work, but luckily his body was attractive enough that this trick always worked.
When the man quietly pushed open the master bedroom door again, there were still five minutes left before Ruan Yi's alarm clock was set to wake her up.
The faint light filtering through the curtains was just enough for him to make out the outline of the person on the bed.
Fu Jingchen walked to the bedside, bent down, and gently brushed away the stray hairs stuck to her face with his fingertips. His fingertips touched her soft skin, and he couldn't help but pause for a few seconds before speaking softly in a tone as if coaxing a child.
"Xiaoyi, wake up..."
"If you don't get up soon, I'm going to eat all the soufflés you've been craving."
The girl's eyelashes fluttered. Before she could fully open her eyes, her nose caught a faint, alluring scent—the sweet aroma of cream mixed with the refreshing smell of the man's shower gel.
Ruan Yi opened her eyes groggily, and before her vision could focus, she bumped into a bulging muscle.
Fu Jingchen bent down so low that what she saw when she opened her eyes was his full, firm, and well-defined pectoral muscles, which rose and fell slightly with his breathing.
Ruan was mostly awake now, like a little caterpillar that had just been awakened. She burrowed around in the blankets and crawled onto the man with both hands and feet.
She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and her legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, transforming into a koala clinging to him.
She buried her face in the man's neck and took a deep breath, which instantly made her feel refreshed.
She suddenly raised her head, her almond-shaped eyes wide, and deliberately drew out her voice, "Turn on!"
The man chuckled softly, the vibrations of his chest transmitted through their skin. He raised his hand and ruffled her messy hair, his fingertips tracing the soft top of her head, his voice full of doting affection.
"The boot speed is so fast this time, the little computer has broken the record."
Ruan Yi rested her chin on his shoulder, letting the man support her hips and legs, and with a strong lift of his arms, he steadily lifted her up.
The girl's weight was as light as a feather to him. He held her steadily and gently, as if holding a ball of cotton, and whispered in her ear.
"Today, we're rewarding our smooth-running computers with an Oreo soufflé, fresh out of the oven and still warm."
Ruan Yi's eyes lit up instantly. She had only casually mentioned wanting to eat soufflé yesterday, but she didn't expect him to actually make it.
The man hesitated for two seconds, but seeing that she was in a good mood, he spoke up: "Also... regarding the project Xiaoyi was discussing today, I took it upon myself to review the proposal for her."
As she spoke, she gently patted her back with her fingertips, as if afraid of disturbing her good mood of looking forward to sweets.
"I've pointed out a few details that might need attention, and two feasible supplementary directions, all marked on the edges of the solution. I haven't changed your core idea."
Fu Jingchen spoke cautiously, afraid that by helping her in her career without her consent, he might make her feel that his original plan was flawed.
"Those are just my suggestions. After breakfast, Xiaoyi, take a couple of minutes to look at them. If you think they're feasible, then take them into consideration. If you don't like them, we can just pretend they never happened, okay?"
Ruan Yi put her arms around his neck and looked at him, who was working hard and worried about being scolded. She felt a little disappointed in him.
She gently bit the man's chin, her voice soft and sweet: "What should I do? My boyfriend seems to be an idiot."
Fu Jingchen looked down at her, his eyes overflowing with tenderness. Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, illuminating his tall figure and taut muscles.
The little girl in his arms nestled softly against his chest, chattering away. He felt that the most perfect happiness in the world was nothing more than this.
As he walked, a small box in the man's pocket gently pressed against his thigh; it was a diamond ring that had been ordered a month ago.
His fingers unconsciously tightened, holding the person in his arms more securely. A hint of unease flashed in his eyes; he couldn't help feeling uneasy.
"Will Xiaoyi be shocked by the sudden marriage proposal?"
"Don't you think it's too fast?"
But this unease was quickly suppressed.
He looked down at the little girl in his arms, who was groping around everywhere, and a gentle smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.
He's not a bad boyfriend, is he?
Otherwise, his little darling wouldn't have willingly let him control her, allowing him to permeate every corner of her life, from the morning alarm clock to the late-night intimacy.
From work-related annoyances to casually mentioned sweets, Ruan Yi had long been accustomed to his presence and was willing to accept everything about him.
But... it's okay even if this proposal doesn't work out.
He believed that one day he would go from being her "good boyfriend" to a rightful "good husband".
Perhaps his half-brother was right; he was a control freak.
One only wanted to protect Ruan Yi under his wing, so that she could live happily and without worries forever.
The "Mother Fu" type of control freak who spent one peaceful and sweet day after another in his arms.
