They took out two items. One was a black crystal that, under the glow of the will-o'-the-wisp, reflected or refracted strange light, and within that light, it seemed to vaguely foreshadow fragments of the future.

The other item was a string of magic beads, white, round beads of indescribable material strung together on a line, surrounded by an eerie, illusory light.

After watching for a while, Mei Moke said:

"This crystal possesses a kind of predictive ability. Once its power is activated, one can see a brief glimpse of the near future and make preparations and countermeasures in advance."

"Its power should be at the Blood Realm or Core Realm level, but I don't know exactly which spiritual energy it comes from."

Its side effects

Upon seeing the string of magic beads, Mei Moke revealed a complex expression for a moment: "As for this string of magic beads, I know its owner... let's not talk about it."

Li Aidan perked up at the thought of continuing forward: "Get out! Lead the way!"

Chen Jing breathed a sigh of relief; at least the topic of the moon wasn't brought up.

Just as they were about to leave and head towards the third door on the right as they came up the stairs, the one with the long passageway to the right of the wooden stake, Mei Moke, who was walking on the maggot carpet, suddenly stopped. Chen Jing turned around and glanced at him, noticing that his face was extremely pale.

"Mr. Mei, what's wrong?" Zhang Taoying asked.

"I...I'm a little thirsty..." Mei Moke said in a dreamlike tone, "You guys go first, yes, you guys go first."

"Would you like some water? We brought some grain bars to keep us hydrated..." Zhang Taoying said hesitantly.

Li Aidan deftly handed it over, and Chen Jing saw Mei Moke visibly swallow hard as he looked at Li Aidan's hand, which showed blue veins.

As Mei Moke spoke, the white, claw-like tubes behind him pierced into several plump maggot-infested corpses, drawing in pale red liquid moments later.
