Large ships sail around the islands of the world's outer seas, nomadic tribes roam above the oceans, and high tower cities stand between heaven and earth. Roaring blood-silver engines, exquisit...
In the drizzling rain.
A middle-aged bald man carrying an oil-paper umbrella walked in the rain. His bald head was covered with a conspicuous blue tattoo, and he had a goatee on his broad face. It was Mo Wujiang.
Mo Wujiang walked back to the Donglai pawnshop. On the street were scavengers wading through the mud, carrying baskets filled with various hauls. Their weathered faces, shabby clothes and shoes covered in mud made them look disdainful.
But most of the people who come to this area have smiles on their faces. Only those who have made a good fortune and need to pawn their items come here. If they are lucky, they can earn enough for several months' worth of food.
In Mo Wujiang's eyes, scavengers are a kind of carrion.
They are born with a lowly fate, like earthworms and snails. They may be useful, but if you see them and don't step on them, you can be considered kind.
Although the Black Hand gang also started as scavengers, and Ash City was originally a place for scavengers to rest and trade, times have changed, and that's the difference in fate.
Mo Wujiang looked down on the scavengers, but he also knew that more than half of the people in Ash City were scavengers. He hadn't counted the exact number, but the income of Donglai Pawnshop was contributed by these people. So when he met scavengers on the road and they greeted him, he would respond politely, which made the scavengers look flattered.
As they walked, they came to a sparsely populated section of road, where Mo Wujiang saw a man with a long sword at his side and tattered, shabby clothes.
He had been waiting on this road leading to the Donglai Pawnshop for what seemed like a long time, hiding under the eaves as if to avoid the rain.
The long sword was drawn, its light flashing.
Mo Wujiang's figure shifted with the flash of the blade, dodging the attack by moving five meters away.
However, the umbrella he was holding was not so lucky; the bamboo frame and the fan-shaped paper pasted with tung oil were cut off with a single stroke.
"It's you? Ma Xian's men?" Mo Wujiang was both surprised and angry. Could it be that he reacted quickly and the knife actually hit him?
The man in the rain did not answer, but approached him.
Mo Wujiang touched the ground with his toes, and leaped into the air, heading towards the eaves of the house on the left.
His calves peeked out from under his trouser legs, where bright red tattoos appeared to be flowing with light.
Not satisfied with being far away from his opponent, Mo Wujiang pulled out a talisman with one hand, and a tattoo appeared on his other wrist. Deep red energy gathered and blasted towards the shabby-clothed man with a knife below.
The shabby-clothed man with the knife suddenly vanished.
Amidst the countless falling raindrops, a man's figure was reflected in a single raindrop.
A flash of light appeared.
Mo Wujiang landed steadily on the rooftop, unharmed. He looked at the man who had also unleashed a sword strike and landed on the rooftop, and asked in surprise:
"A hundred-pace attack?"
The man also uttered the first word he spoke upon meeting Mo Wujiang:
"Qi Realm?"
Seeing the other party's indifferent expression, Mo Wujiang immediately made up his mind, raised the precious talisman in his hand, and was about to use it.
However, the two were too close, and the man could not give Mo Wujiang the opportunity to use the talisman.
Mo Wujiang's "Cloud-Soaring Boots" tattoo on his leg couldn't allow him to fly for long, but it did allow him to fly briefly. Without hesitation, he continued to activate the Cloud-Soaring Boots tattoo and leaped towards the rooftop across the street.
Mo Wujiang was certain that even if the opponent was also a Qi Realm warrior, it would be difficult to use a martial art of the Hundred Steps Strike level continuously. After using it once, there would be a long interval between uses.
Similarly, the "traveling bird" tattoo on his heart, which he had just used to "flash" away from the man's sudden attack, could not be used again for quite some time.
Mo Wujiang, who had moved away from his original position, raised his hand and continued to activate the tattoo on his hand, emitting a red ray that blasted towards the man standing in the distance.
Just as the red light was about to arrive, the man vanished.
In the shadows beneath the dark clouds, the man reappeared, his blade flashing as it struck Mo Wujiang's imposing aura.
Although it didn't actually harm Mo Wujiang, the loss of his aura was real.
"Shadow Walk?!"
Mo Wujiang cursed inwardly, how could the other party have two teleportation abilities? It was practically cheating!
There is only one Mo Wujiang!
After being stabbed, he wasn't fast enough to fly across the street and was about to land on the ground, just like the other man.
Before landing, Mo Wujiang activated one of the abilities of the tattoo on his head. The blue runes shimmered, as if a bright lamp was hanging above his head, dispelling the surrounding shadows and darkness. Activating these Blood Realm level tattoos was effortless for Mo Wujiang.
Immediately afterwards, Mo Wujiang activated the tattoo on his shoulder, causing a ring of flames to surround him. The rain that hit the flames was instantly evaporated.
We can no longer allow the opponent to attack without expending any energy. Mo Wujiang has already taken two hits, and his momentum has been severely damaged, putting him at a serious disadvantage in a battle between Qi Realm cultivators.
Mo Wujiang's two counterattacks were thwarted by the opponent's teleportation-like abilities, who managed to get close while dodging them!
The man continued his close-quarters, fierce attacks with his knife. Mo Wujiang, however, reacted by retaliating with the rings of fire emanating from his shoulders, the flames transforming into waves of fire that crashed towards the man in his tattered and shabby clothes.
Mo Wujiang also activated the tattoos on his hands. The tattoos on the back of his hands shone brightly, his arms instantly grew thicker, his fingers grew scales, and his nails became long and thin: his entire palm turned into claws.
If Chen Jing were here, he would be surprised to find that Mo Wujiang's hand changes were almost identical to those of "Blood Eagle" Luo Ting, except that Mo Wujiang's tattoo was hidden on the back of his hand, while Luo Ting's tattoo was on his face.
