Large ships sail around the islands of the world's outer seas, nomadic tribes roam above the oceans, and high tower cities stand between heaven and earth. Roaring blood-silver engines, exquisit...
When Chen Jing arrived at Pan Fengyu's gatehouse, he did not hand over the 1 yuan Blue Sun coin to the servant.
He handed the books to the servant and said:
"Please tell Mr. Pan that I'm going to participate in the Black Hand's trial mission and won't be coming for the next few days."
The old servant took the book, and Chen Jing, without having time to take his leave, ran straight towards the high-walled area.
Two quarters of an hour was too short; he could only return the books, not even have time to go back and see his younger siblings, because the roads led in opposite directions. Fortunately, he was used to carrying all his equipment with him.
The black iron straight sword "Lone City", leather armor, revolver, dagger, grappling hook...
It's a pity... the landmines that were planted weren't retrieved before...
Hopefully, the Black Hand side can provide some additional information.
Chen Jing arrived at a military camp in the High Wall District. The camp was so large that it could not be seen to end in the thin mist. It was already crowded with people. In addition to most of the people who originally came to participate in the trial, members of the Black Hand gang and the outer soldiers were also making preparations.
Chen Jing glanced around and spotted a core member of the Black Hand gang somewhere among them.
One of them wore a wide-brimmed black hat, light armor with gauntlets and leg guards, black iron boots, and a long sword and a short sword at his waist.
Lu Gang, the "Black Hand"!
What level of cultivation is he at? The Bright Realm? The Qi Realm? The Dan Realm?
Suddenly, Lu Gang seemed to notice Chen Jing's gaze. He turned his head and met Chen Jing's eyes.
Chen Jing felt his heart skip a beat and instinctively lowered his head.
Lu Gang, the "Black Hand," withdrew his gaze and was discussing specific tactics with him. Huang Yuanlong, with a serious and expressionless face, asked, "Who are you looking at?"
“A little guy.” Lu Gang gestured towards that direction with his chin. “He was just looking at me.”
"They're probably just cannon fodder that Luo You found. What's so interesting about them?" Huang Yuanlong said.
“Don’t say that.” The red-haired, smartly dressed woman, Luo You, stepped aside. “If we don’t have any cannon fodder who volunteer, we’ll lose some people just to find the location of the slave souls. And if we want to lure them to the designated battle location, we’ll lose even more people.”
Luo You said with a smile, "Our lives are precious. If these scavengers die, they die."
"Boss, what about those people from the Meijing Dojo? Are they going to be cannon fodder too?" Huang Yuanlong asked Lu Gang, the Black Hand.
"Why wouldn't I?" Black Hand Lu Gang sneered, "Just tell them later that this is a test mission, and they're on their own."
Just then, Li Si, dressed in full black armor and addressed as 'Priest,' walked over from the side. He first glared fiercely at the red-haired woman, Luo You, and then continued the conversation:
"The former headmaster of the Meijing Dojo was a Blood Realm warrior, possibly a Guardian."
"Guardians?" Black Hand Lu Gang sneered, spitting on the ground: "A bunch of people who only know how to dig holes and hide randomly, what kind of guardians are they?"
Black-armored knight Li Si subconsciously took a step back and said, "Although we've always wanted to deal with them, they might have spiritual artifacts protecting the inheritance, or they might have high-level cultivators. These are things we haven't figured out yet. Do we really want to make more enemies now?"
Black Hand Lu Gang said grimly:
"Forget about making any more enemies, I suspect that it was those guardians who sheltered the assassin who tried to kill me."
Huang Yuanlong was somewhat surprised, but his expression remained unchanged, and he asked in a flat tone:
"Why? They weren't always neutral. Oh, I remember now, they discovered the blood sacrifice?"
Lu Gang, the mastermind, looked around and nodded.
"Hopefully, the big shot behind us can provide support," Huang Yuanlong said expressionlessly.
"I have a backup plan, a backup scapegoat." Mo Wujiang's voice came from behind Huang Yuanlong and the others.
Just then, two people stepped out of the carriage behind them. One was a rather young woman with black hair and black eyes and cold features; the other was Mo Wujiang, with a broad face, a goatee, and blue runes on his bald head.
Black Hand Lu Gang turned around, glanced at them, and said:
"Mr. Mo, Ms. Pan, are our preparations complete?"
Mo Wujiang countered, "All the magical artifacts have been brought out, and the ship area is now empty. Are you sure this is alright?"
“This is a trap,” Roy said.
“I know… I’m still a little worried.” Mo Wujiang shook his head: “Everything is prepared.”
"If this hunt is successful, Yuanlong, you will advance to the Qi Realm, and our guild will have another Qi Realm expert." Black Hand Lu Gang said, "That sir lent me a spiritual artifact, and I'm confident that no one will die in this hunt!"
When he said that none of his core team members died, he was referring to the fact that none of them died.
As for those recruited cannon fodder, we can only leave it to fate.
Huang Yuanlong nodded expressionlessly, and Lu Gang, the mastermind, was not surprised at all. He began to walk up to a higher place, preparing to "encourage" the group of cannon fodder.
Black Hand Lu Gang glanced around and didn't immediately notice the little guy who had been watching him earlier. After observing him carefully for a while, he realized that the little guy was in the corner, not hiding, but very difficult to see.
Chen Jing didn't dare look at Black Hand and his men again. He hadn't expected that just staring at him for a short while would be noticed.
"Lu Gang, the Black Hand, is terrifying!" Chen Jing sighed inwardly for a moment, then skillfully went to the quartermaster next to him and asked for some equipment.
Black Hand Lu Gang was quite generous; the equipment he provided was much better than what Chen Jing had in his original hunting group, both in quantity and quality.
Lu Gang stood on the high platform and said:
"quiet."
His voice was authoritative, as if it possessed magic, and the noisy crowd below stopped.
"The slave ghost used to stay obediently in his arena, but now he roams around Meijing City, preventing scavengers from obtaining loot and hunting parties from hunting. He is very strong, and all those who challenged him are dead."
