Chapter Thirty-Six Myths and Legends

Chen Jing read with great interest, even using the names of gods and demons from his pre-transmigration mythology to "translate" unfamiliar proper nouns. He wasn't unfamiliar with mythology before, but it was all very fragmented and unsystematic.

Judging from the tone and expression, the author sympathizes with and praises the "Wind Mother" who protects the weak and makes amends for the heavens. However, the author uses many hostile expressions to describe the "Gonggong" and "Kunpeng" who plotted assassination, portraying them as villains... Chen Jing pondered and continued to turn the pages.

After gaining the power of wind, tornadoes and floods swept across the world, and Kunpeng and Gonggong defeated Zhurong and Xuannu.

But at that moment, thunder and lightning resounded in the sky, and the seventh god-demon was born: the Thunder God.

He was born from the corpse of the Wind Mother, and is her child. He wanders among the clouds and brings down divine punishment with thunder and lightning, seemingly representing the pivot of fire and water, yang and yin.

The war eased slightly due to the birth of the Thunder God. The Golden Crows and Gonggong and Kunpeng were unsure of the new god's attitude, so they sent their subordinates to test him.

Thor then raised his lightning and killed all who came. The tyrannical Thor declared to the world of gods and demons that he was the only emperor and demanded that all gods and demons submit to him. This tyrant rode on his lightning to the palace of Kunpeng in the heavens and issued a challenge. Kunpeng was no match for him and fell into the ocean to escape. Thor was not good at swimming, so he turned around and fought with the Golden Crow who came to his aid.

Lightning, flames, storms, and tsunamis covered the entire surface of the world, and gods and demons wailed. The era of gods and demons came to an end.

Chen Jing looked at it and felt that this myth was somewhat unreasonable.

Since Thor is the child of the Wind Goddess, shouldn't he avenge his mother? How did it turn into "I'll fight them all"?

Ha, how did I start searching for reality in a fictional story... and so on and so forth, trees, trees, people... ugh. Chen Jing thought for a moment, skipped over the illogical parts, and continued reading.

The story then goes on to tell of the emergence of humankind, whose ancestors were gods and demons sculpted by the Wind Goddess from clay and rocks. Humans, adapting to the new environment, began to multiply...

Just as Chen Jing was engrossed in reading and had learned the meaning of many unfamiliar words by asking Pan Fengyu and referring to the context, Pan Fengyu interrupted him: "Alright, my lecture is over."

"Lecture...where did you lecture?" For a moment, Chen Jing was stunned and confused.
