Jiang Shan is carrying a child whose biological father is unknown. Using the banner of "Jiang Family Private Kitchen," she travels around earning money, inadvertently transforming from a &#...
Everyone stared at her, looking completely bewildered.
Li Yang clapped his hands, and four maids filed in, each carrying a plate covered with red silk.
Fu Qiyuan's eyes flickered slightly, but he didn't say anything.
Jiang Shan had no idea what Li Yang was up to, so he could only suppress his curiosity and show the same expression as his son.
Li Yang beckoned to the first maid, who took out a crescent-shaped jade pendant that was entirely green from under the red silk cloth.
"Huai'er, come here!" As she spoke, she tied the jade pendant to Jiang Huai's waist, which was as round as his belly...
Next, the second piece of red silk cloth was unveiled, and a bronze-colored round plaque was taken out with the character "容" (rong) engraved on it.
Li Yang hung the bronze plaque around Jiang Huai's neck, patted his belly, and laughed, "Keep it safe, it could save your life in a pinch!"
Jiang Huai touched the sign, grinning from ear to ear.
Before Li Yang could unveil the third piece of red silk, Jiang Huai took out a jade belt from it and hung it around his neck.
"You can't use this now, let your mother keep it, and you can wear it when you grow up."
Then Jiang Huai took the initiative to unveil the fourth piece of red silk, inside which was a small set of clothes.
The clothes are made of the finest brocade, and the highlights are the embroidered Pixiu on the sleeves and the large, lustrous white pearls inlaid on the belt!
Jiang Huai chuckled and picked up the clothes, holding them up against himself.
In front of everyone, two maids forced Jiang Huai onto a chair, stripped him of his cotton-padded coat, and dressed him in this gorgeous and luxurious new outfit.
"Your Highness, this is... This is inappropriate!" Mr. Xunmei was shocked and hurriedly got up and walked to Jiang Huai's side, trying to strip off his clothes.
Li Yang stopped Mr. Xunmei's actions and said, "I took an instant liking to this child, and I will adopt him as my godson today. Both I and the Duke have hereditary titles, but I only have one son, Yue'er. Wouldn't it be a great pity if my title could not be passed down?"
After saying that, she turned to Jiang Huai, took his chubby little hand in hers, and asked softly, "Huai'er, would you like to call me godmother?"
Jiang Shan felt as if he had been struck by lightning, his brain momentarily shutting down.
Before she could restart, Jiang Huai happily grabbed Li Yang's hand and jumped up and down on the chair, saying in a clear voice, "Godmother!"
Rong Yue covered her face and cried out in despair, "Mother! Are you mistaken! If anyone is to be adopted, it should be Boss Jiang as his goddaughter, how can I be of the same generation as this little guy!"
Li Yang ignored her chubby son, led Jiang Huai to sit down, and pointed to the group of maids, "From now on, Huai'er will be your mistress!"
The four maids, along with the head maid, all curtsied in unison: "Greetings, young master!"
Jiang Huai touched the heavy badge around his neck, grinning with his small white teeth, his eyes crinkling into a smile.
Jiang Shan belatedly realized what was happening and wanted to say something, but Fu Qiyuan stopped him with a look.
No way!
She wanted to hitch a ride, but this ride was too big; it felt like she had made a hundred million overnight!
Looking at Jiang Shan's dumbfounded expression, Li Yang said, "Boss Jiang, are you now willing to believe in my sincerity?"
Jiang Shan nodded firmly, wanting to defend himself: "Grand Princess, you don't need to go to such lengths. Even if it weren't for Jiang Huai, I would still do my best to help the Crown Prince lose weight. Why don't we discuss this further?"
Li Yang glanced at her, "After I return to my residence, I will submit a memorial to my elder brother, and all the rules and ceremonies will be completed for Huai'er after the imperial decree is issued."
Fu Qiyuan stood up, bowed to Li Yang, and said, "Huai'er is fortunate to have won the favor of the Grand Princess, which is his good fortune, but I would like to implore the Grand Princess not to let him inherit the title for the time being."
Li Yang raised her eyebrows, somewhat displeased, and asked, "Why?"
Fu Qiyuan said solemnly, "A tall tree catches the wind. Huai'er is just the son of a merchant. If some people with ill intentions find out that he inherited the title of the Grand Princess, how many people will be eyeing him covetously! Huai'er is still young and cannot withstand too much wind and rain. He is already blessed to have the protection of the Grand Princess and the Duke of Rong's mansion. Too much is as bad as too little!"
Li Yang frowned and thought for a moment, then said, "Very well, it was my oversight. Let it be like this then! We'll talk about it again after you're married and back in the capital."
Jiang Shan glanced at Fu Qiyuan, but wisely refrained from saying anything more.
She felt that the gossip about her and Fu Qiyuan had been spread to death, with all sorts of versions, and she didn't know which version the Grand Princess had heard.
With Jiang Huai's family reunion performance, the meal was especially heartwarming. Except for Rong Yue, who had a thousand reasons to be sad and couldn't eat much, everyone else was very happy.
Jiang Shan made Rong Yue eat an extra half bowl of crab roe egg custard, but in doing so, he also gave him one less cup of fruit tea.
Tea fruits also contain calories; others may not know this, but Jiangshan does.
Rong Yue happily held the half-bowl of steamed egg custard, wanting to say thank you, but hesitated and didn't know what to say.
Jiang Shan looked at him with a smile, without saying a word.
Li Yang made the final decision, "Call her Aunt Jiang! She is my sworn sister after all, it's not beneath you to call her 'Aunt'!"
Rong Yue wanted to pack up and run away, but he couldn't bear to.
The thought of having to live under someone else's thumb made him lose even the courage to escape.
"Aunt Jiang..." came a soft, almost inaudible sound.
Jiang Shan blushed and reluctantly agreed.
Rong Yue, unconvinced, shouted at Jiang Huai, "Jiang Huai, shout 'Big Pot!' Louder!"
His excited Jiangling accent even came out.
Jiang Huai looked up at him, pouted, and called out, "Big Pot."
Even the tune is exactly the same.
After dinner, Jiang Shan invited Li Yang to the conference room and presented him with the agreement with Rong Yue for her to review.
Li Yang asked, both surprised and doubtful, "Just this much weight, can it really help you lose so much fat?"
