On her first day of work, Xiao Xin offended Fu Yan, the eldest son of the Fu Group. It was rumored that this eldest son of the Fu family had a violent temper, and no one dared to approach within te...
Xiao Xin withdrew her hand, glanced up and saw Fu Yan staring at her blankly. She casually sat back down in her seat, took a soup spoon and handed it to Fu Yan: "What are you standing there for? Do you still want some porridge?"
Fu Yan took the soup spoon with a grateful expression and took a sip of porridge.
The sweet pumpkin porridge melted in his mouth, and Fu Yan smiled at Xiao Xin: "Thank you, brother!"
As he spoke, he began to scoop up porridge and drink it again.
His brother treats him so well, how could he not like him?
Fu Yan secretly made up his mind that he would definitely make Xiao Xin say that she liked him.
Thinking of this, Fu Yan couldn't help but ask Xiao Xin, "Brother, why did you make me kiss you in that office just now?"
Xiao Xin almost choked on the chili peppers when he heard this. He picked up his cup, took a big gulp of water, and cleared his throat: "You can't talk while eating from now on."
"Oh..." Fu Yan fiddled with the porridge in the bowl with a spoon, looking rather uninterested.
Xiao Xin changed the subject again.
"Want to know why?" Xiao Xin asked suddenly, popping a piece of fish into her mouth.
Fu Yan nodded. "I want to."
Seeing his eager look, Xiao Xin nudged her chin with her chopsticks and looked into his clear eyes, asking, "Then answer me first, why did you say you don't like me?"
A sense of desolation filled Fu Yan's eyes. He lowered his gaze, silently scooped up a spoonful of porridge, and muttered while biting the spoon, "Because my brother said he's not interested in people who like him..."
Fu Yan spoke too softly, and Xiao Xin didn't hear him clearly: "What?"
Seeing his puzzled expression, Fu Yan paused and then said loudly, "Because my brother said he doesn't like people who like you! If I said I liked my brother, wouldn't he be uninterested in me then?!"
Xiao Xin stared into his eyes, paused for a moment, and took three seconds to react.
It turns out that Fu Yan had taken to heart the casual words he had made to avoid the issue.
"It's my fault." Xiao Xin smiled with relief.
Fu Yan looked at him, puzzled: "What are you laughing at, brother?"
Xiao Xin looked at him, her eyes full of laughter: "Laughing at you for being such a big fool."
Fu Yan grunted, "My brother is a complete idiot, all he knows is how to bully me."
He lowered his head, not wanting to look at Xiao Xin, quickly finished the porridge in his bowl, and walked towards the bathroom.
Xiao Xin watched his hurried departure and smiled helplessly: "Oh, he's got a temper now."
He shook his head and calmly finished the rest of the fish slices.
Half an hour passed, and Fu Yan still hadn't come out of the bathroom.
Xiao Xin, worried that he might drown in there, leaned against the bathroom door and knocked: "Is the puppy done washing?"
The night wind was blowing a bit, and Xiao Xin stood at the door shivering.
After a while, there was no movement from inside the door.
Xiao Xin realized something was wrong and tentatively knocked on the door again: "Little dog?"
There was still no response from inside the house.
Xiao Xin suddenly pushed open the door and saw Fu Yan lying in the bathtub, clutching his chest with one hand and frowning in pain.
Xiao Xin realized that Fu Yan had fallen ill, so he opened the window to ventilate the room and hurriedly ran back to the bedroom to get his medicine.
His hands trembled as he fed Fu Yan the medicine. Fu Yan was panting and seemed not to hear him. Xiao Xin told him to open his mouth several times before Fu Yan's lips opened slightly.
Xiao Xin fed him the medicine and then held a glass of water to his lips: "Good boy, drink some water."
Xiao Xin's voice carried a gentleness he himself was unaware of.
Fu Yan was in a daze, and with Xiao Xin's help, he tilted his head back and swallowed the medicine.
Xiao Xin put down the water glass, knelt by the bathtub, pressed Fu Yan's head to her shoulder, and apologized guiltily, "I'm sorry, I forgot to feed you your medicine, I'm so sorry..."
Seriously, an argument almost killed someone.
Xiao Xin felt so guilty that he wanted to stab himself. When he saw Fu Yan having a seizure, his heart inexplicably panicked.
Xiao Xin patted his head, rested his chin on Fu Yan's forehead, and whispered, "Little dog, if I had arrived a moment later, would you have died..."
Even if you forget some painful things, your body's cells will still react instinctively.
Fu Yan is in this state right now.
Xiao Xin smoothed his furrowed brow with her thumb, "What painful things did you go through in the past that made you feel so bad..."
He dared not argue with Fu Yan anymore; if things escalated further, his heart wouldn't be able to take it.
*
When Fu Yan woke up the next day, he was holding Xiao Xin in his arms.
He shifted his body, and Xiao Xin murmured something against his chest, like a kitten.
Fu Yan smiled and reached out to pat Xiao Xin's head.
"Thank you, brother..."
He almost drowned in the bathroom yesterday. In his hazy state of consciousness, he saw Xiao Xin and knew that Xiao Xin had saved him.
Xiao Xin felt his movement and impatiently pried his hand away: "Sleepy, stop messing around..."
Fu Yan smiled and put his arm around Xiao Xin's shoulder: "Okay, brother, I won't make a fuss, you go to sleep."
Xiao Xin closed her eyes again, unusually not avoiding Fu Yan's embrace.
Fu Yan hugged Xiao Xin, delighted by this little discovery.
He touched Xiao Xin's hair with the tip of his nose and faintly smelled a delicate rose fragrance.
Brother, it smells so good...
Fu Yan leaned closer with a dazed look in his eyes, took a few gentle breaths, and seeing that Xiao Xin didn't move, took a few more deep breaths, finally letting out a satisfied sigh.
Xiao Xin endured the tickling sensation from her hair, a faint smile playing on her lips. She placed her hand on Fu Yan's waist and pressed her face against his chest.
Fu Yan felt Xiao Xin's movement, his spine stiffened suddenly, and his heart began to beat faster involuntarily.
Xiao Xin buried her face in his chest and mumbled, "Little dog, your heart is beating so fast..."
Fu Yan gently rubbed the back of Xiao Xin's head and whispered, "Because brother, you're too close to me..."
Xiao Xin chuckled: "Don't you like it?"
"No," Fu Yan quickly retorted, "I like it..."
