The moment the cigarette was lit, the person on the bed moved his arm. Anyone in the fashion industry would recognize him as a mixed-race male model who's been making waves lately. He has a great physique, brown curly hair, blue eyes, and a flawless face that belies his nineteen years. He's undeniably young, whether he's plump or not is another matter, but his chest muscles do have a few red marks from being pinched.

By the time he was fully awake, the woman had finished her cigarette, changed her clothes, and buttoned them halfway up, clearly indicating she was about to leave.

"Are you really going back to China? Can I go with you?" His Chinese had an accent, and his blue eyes shone with light, making him look incredibly pitiful.

The woman felt inexplicably annoyed by the tears welling up in his eyes, but she still patted the top of his head and replied in a gentle tone, "Leo, you're a well-behaved boy. I hope you'll be more sensible and not be so clingy." Then she patted his right cheek twice with the back of her hand, like teasing a pet, "Stop crying, I hate it when men cry."

After saying that, she turned around and fiddled with her long hair in front of the full-length mirror. A voice came from behind her, sounding even more aggrieved than before, "But my name is Eric."

The woman showed no remorse for calling him by the wrong name. She picked out a strand of hair that had gotten caught in her shoulder strap with her middle finger, her eyes fixed only on her own face. "It doesn't matter. Get moving, Eric. You have ten minutes to get out of this room."

When can we meet again?

She chuckled softly. "I really don't want to tell you this cruel truth, but I can't bear to lie to you. I won't sleep with the same man twice, understand?"

The sentence was too long and contained two numbers, leaving him confused. But when she asked, "Do you understand?" she wasn't really concerned about whether he understood or not, so she ruthlessly reminded him, "You have eight minutes left."

At 5:30 p.m., the plane landed at City A International Airport.

The international arrivals gate was packed with people, all holding cameras and phones, craning their necks as if they were stretching three miles out.

Unaware of what was going on, passersby kept turning back to look, thinking: "Who is this big shot that so many people are waiting for him?"

Suddenly the crowd began to stir, and cameras clicked incessantly, creating a commotion no less than that of firecrackers during the Spring Festival.

A group of people came out from inside, and the one being surrounded held her head high, wearing sunglasses, with fair skin and a straight figure. Her maroon knitted dress was below her knees, which looked glamorous but not vulgar on her. Her high heels clicked, her curly hair swayed behind her, and her oversized leather jacket was also swaying behind her. Her hands were in her pockets, and she had a Hermes Birkin bag hanging on her wrist. She exuded a powerful aura.

The lipstick color is incredibly bold, a true red, like the year she was at the peak of her popularity.

Ji Jiazhen, 25 years old.

Seven years ago, she made her debut with a set of photos and became an overnight sensation.

In her second year in the industry, she was inundated with offers, endorsements from top luxury brands, and scripts kept pouring in.

In her third year in the industry, she won the gold medal, earning the title of Best Actress.

The scenery is magnificent, and the future is limitless.

Industry insiders predict that she will follow in Meng Xu's footsteps and become the second female star to achieve a grand slam in five years.

However, in her fourth year in the industry, she was permanently stigmatized by a scandal.

The top trending topic that day was:

#Chi Chia-Chen's sugar daddy/sugar baby

#Is the Best Actress just sitting there or is she asleep?

#Suitable for both men and women, young and old

She dominated the entire screen, and three of her posts trended on social media – these are the three she mentioned.

Fan count is dropping, endorsements are falling, advertisements are being withdrawn, and scenes are being cut overnight.

Fans were devastated, haters were ecstatic, bystanders were stuffed with gossip, and editors forced to work overtime cursed as they edited.

On the first day of the public outcry, the studio issued numerous clarifications.

On the third day of the public outcry, lawyer's letters were sent out across the internet.

On the fifth day of the public outcry, the comment section of Ji Jiazhen's pinned post was completely flooded with criticism.

On the ninth day, at the globally televised clarification press conference, when the agent was speaking with a red face and a throbbing neck, she suddenly slammed down the microphone, forcing everyone to look at her, and then said four words:

I'm leaving the entertainment industry.

Thus, her brilliant, even godlike, acting career suddenly came to an end. Then, with a plane ticket, three suitcases, and herself, she boarded a plane to the United States, and all the noise and commotion became irrelevant to her.

Netizens chimed in with their opinions, saying there was no such thing as a baseless rumor, that flies don't land on eggs without cracks, and that her being kept by a sugar daddy was a fact, while her retirement from the entertainment industry was proof of her guilty conscience.

No one cares what the truth is.

In short, the label of "sugar baby" is permanently attached to her and cannot be removed.

A frenzy of public opinion.

I thought this person would disappear from the annals of entertainment history, but she has returned three years later.

I thought she would become depressed and timid from then on.

Yet she still has that "I'm the coolest" attitude, her face is still beautiful, even more charming than when she first debuted, her figure is still great, and her temperament still surpasses many in the industry.

She returned with such pride and arrogance, having left in disgrace years ago, now returning like a victorious general.

All the cameras were pointed at her, and the reporters bombarded her with questions, but she didn't answer any of them.

This person seems to have changed a lot, yet it also seems like nothing has changed.

His temper is still just as bad.

Yes, it's just as bad as it was before I retired.

Five minutes earlier, she smashed a camera that almost hit her chest without stopping or turning her head, but she pointed at the person as a warning and also signaled to her assistant to get a new one.

The bodyguards cleared a path for her, and she continued walking.

The reporters were still asking questions, their chatter making her ears hurt.

She knew exactly what they wanted to hear, but she didn't say anything. Just before the back door of the van closed, she pulled down her sunglasses, revealing a strikingly beautiful face.

She has striking features, with large, fox-like eyes that make her look either innocent or alluring.

She put her index finger to her lips, glanced around, and waited until everyone was quiet and ready to listen to her speak. Then she randomly grabbed someone's microphone and began to speak:

"You should all know why I returned to China. I will answer all the questions you asked today with my actions and my work. I have nothing more to say. As for those you mentioned earlier, the ones who were kept and slept with," she looked around for a moment, then stopped and pointed, "I've remembered their names. I'll send them letters tomorrow. Remember to receive them."

Finally, he put on his sunglasses, threw the microphone back, and said, "Did you all hear that? Go back and post it."

Bang--

Close the door, drive the car, and leave.

The reporters were left standing there dumbfounded.

After the car had driven some distance, the agent, Sister May, called. As soon as I answered, I heard a wolf howl on the other end: "My goodness! Can't you keep a low profile now that you've just returned to the country?! Can't you?!"

"I've already been very low-key, but the media are so eager to hear from me. If I don't give them a response, they'll say I'm being arrogant. Don't you think so?"

May raised her voice: "What you've said or done has nothing to do with being low-key! Just give me a break, or you'll be ruined forever! Do you know how many people are watching you? Aren't they saying enough already?!"

Ji Jiazhen ignored the second half of her sentence, but was quite curious about her first sentence, "You found out what I did so quickly?"

She felt a light tap on her shoulder and turned around. It was her newly assigned assistant, Chen Li, a recent graduate, who held up her phone and mouthed to her, "Sis, you're trending."

Ji Jiazhen looked over and saw the top trending topic: "Disgraced artist Ji Jiazhen makes a high-profile comeback," with the word "explosive" prominently displayed at the end.

She became interested and clicked on the entry while still in that position. The top one was a video of her smashing the camera. Sister May was still nagging on the phone, but she ignored her and watched the entire 38-second video. At the end, she smiled and praised, "Cool."

May paused, "Were you not even listening to me?"

"Right." He hung up the phone without giving the other end a chance to react.

She was still looking at her own trending topic when she took Chen Li's phone directly. Chen Li sat behind her, feeling uneasy.

His thumb slid across the live screen, the dark blue nail polish making his fingers look as white as jade. His other hand twirled his phone, then stopped with both hands at the same time after a turn. He returned the phone with his right hand and dialed a number with his left.

The moment the call connected, she got straight to the point: "Where are you?"

The voice on the other end was calm and composed, the kind of calm that comes from weathering many storms. It showed no emotion whatsoever towards her rude question, and instead asked with good temper, "Back in China?"

Ji Jiazhen leaned against the armrest of her seat, utterly languid, twirling the end of her hair with her hand, and suddenly laughed, "Duan Qiyin, don't pretend, you don't know what's going on with me?"

He replied, "You didn't seem to tell me you were going back to China."

This sounds like she's being blamed for taking it upon herself to return to China.

"I'm too lazy to argue with you over the phone. Where are you? Give me your address."

"It's not convenient now, another day."

Ji Jiazhen sneered: "Even if you're going to go all the way right now, get off the bed cleanly."

Duan Qiyin was familiar with her tone; she was annoyed and angry, and if they continued arguing, she would explode. So, after three seconds of silence, he gave her the address.

Half an hour later, as soon as I got out of the car, I saw a black figure standing outside the entrance. He looked best in a suit, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, and appeared restrained and ascetic in the early autumn evening.

Ji Jiazhen walked in Duan Qiyin's direction, and even had the leisure to whistle at his back.

"They've moved to a different nest?"

She stood in front of Duan Qiyin.

"The old man's house."

Ji Jiazhen found it strange but didn't show it on her face. She knew about Duan Qiyin's messy family relationships. For example, he took his mother's surname and his parents had divorced long ago. He had almost no contact with his biological father. It was simply unbelievable that he came here today.

She glanced inside lazily, then jumped in surprise, raising her left eyebrow slightly. "Broken?"

The room was a mess. Glass vases were shattered all over the floor, a huge picture frame was smashed beyond recognition, and on the floor directly opposite the front door, there was... blood?

Duan Qiyin remained calm, as if he were used to this kind of scene. "My brother."

These two words piqued Ji Jiazhen's curiosity. She had known Duan Qiyin for eight years and lived in his house for two years, but she had never heard of him having a younger brother.

How come I didn't know you had a younger brother?

"You care about these things?"

That's the honest truth. She couldn't be bothered to focus on how many people were in Duan Qiyin's family. Relationships in wealthy families are always complicated, so it wouldn't be surprising if he had a stepmother.

He casually glanced into the room and clicked his tongue, "Your brother's got some nerve."

"What do you want?"

This interruption almost made her forget her important business.

What does "trending on Weibo" mean?

Duan Qiyin's eyes held a smile, but his aloof appearance made the smile seem insincere. "Ask me?"

"Are you suggesting I ask?"

She looked accusatory, convinced that he was behind the trending topic, while he smiled like a cunning old fox. Both of them had their own agendas.

"You were incredibly popular back then, and your popularity hasn't waned. Are you satisfied with this answer?"

Ji Jiazhen had a smile on her lips, and Duan Qiyin felt that her bag could hit him in the face at any second.

"Am I an idiot?"

Only three people knew she was back in China. The incident at the airport was clearly a setup. The trending topic seemed premeditated; the event happened one minute and was edited and posted online the next. Did they really think she was stupid?

Duan Qiyin raised an eyebrow but did not answer.

"Are you trying to intimidate me or show me who I'm backing? Or are you using me to create momentum for your company's little artist? You've been making quite a splash with the 'Little Ji Jiazhen' name these past two years, but I'm not dead, I'm abroad!"

Duan Qiyin put one hand in his pocket, still smiling. Ji Jiazhen was very annoyed and cursed again, "Screw you!"

"I'm a businessman, and I always prioritize profit. If you need publicity for your comeback, I won't miss the opportunity to make money. It's a win-win situation, so why distinguish between you, me, and her? All this money will be used to promote you."

He was never short of words, and this whole argument made her seem ungrateful. But when it came to a struggle for interests, she never let herself be taken advantage of. She might lose a verbal battle, but she had to see tangible benefits. She had already endured the negative publicity and the insults, and she wasn't going to suffer for nothing.

"Okay, if you're going to promote me, then all the endorsements and scripts that come to your company will have to be reviewed by me first. Only the ones I don't want will be given to them. Whether you throw money or connections at me, you have to handle those difficult directors and brands that have a problem with me. Regardless of whether I'm the person they want, if I've taken a liking to me, I have to get them."

Duan Qiyin, maintaining a refined yet roguish demeanor, agreed verbally, glancing down at his watch: "I'll take you out to eat."

Only then did Ji Jiazhen truly put aside her temper. A smile appeared at the corner of her eye, revealing her bewitching and charming nature. Her gaze was both fierce and wicked.

She usually only shows this kind of smile in two situations: either she's going hunting, or she's caught her prey.

"I'm busy. Someone's organizing a welcome party for me. I heard there are a few guys I'm interested in. I can't keep them waiting. I can't do anything to hurt a man's feelings."

Duan Qiyin chuckled: "You're quite willing to make me sad."

"I can still tell the difference between a thirty-year-old man and a twenty-year-old boy."

The following are reading tips and warnings:

1. Neither the male nor female lead is a perfect character; the female lead lacks a strong sense of morality.

2. The female lead is a slightly wicked woman, not evil; she's an ambitious woman who prioritizes profit. I will not accept comments that criticize the female lead.

3. The female lead is not the male lead. She is experienced and has only loved herself before meeting the male lead. The story will describe her having intimate and sexual encounters with other people. Please read with caution if you mind.

The male lead is incredibly pure, both physically and mentally; he's never even held hands with a girl.

4. There will absolutely be no scenes of women vying for men; only men vying for women.

5. The second male lead is not a virgin, and the female lead and he only have a business relationship.

Content that has been cleared of potential contamination will not be subject to negative reviews.
