Chapter 6 Violet "What I love to death isn't type, it's..."

Wen Siyu is right, this house is indeed much more comfortable to live in than a hotel.

When Sister May came to talk to her about work, her eyes widened as soon as she entered the door.

"You're willing to spend money to buy a house?"

Ji Jiazhen stood there leisurely arranging flowers, snip-cutting off the excess branches with the scissors. "You think too highly of me."

May said she guessed it too, "This is... to appease President Duan?"

Ji Jiazhen glanced at her, knowing that she thought the house was arranged for her by Duan Qiyin.

She hasn't spoken to Duan Qiyin for four days. Forget about cleaning the house, he's probably thinking about how to get back at her right now.

However, Wen Siyu's situation was still too uncertain, and she didn't want others to know that she and he had a relationship that hadn't yet developed into a real one, but was likely to, so she lied.

"I rented it myself."

May rolled her eyes, didn't ask any more questions, and took out a stack of papers from her bag and spread them out in front of her.

"Keep an eye on a few filming jobs. I'm flying to City C next Monday, so I won't be able to come with you."

Ji Jiazhen glanced at the photos casually, only showing interest in one of the magazine shoots, not for any other reason than that the photographer in charge was her friend.

She joked, "Your schedule is even tighter than mine."

And she happened to know someone who was also going to City C soon.

May's gaze shifted away, a rare occurrence, and Ji Jiazhen's suspicions were answered.

"You're the one taking care of Jian Yi, aren't you?"

If the other person doesn't say anything, that means they agree.

Duan Qiyin really went to great lengths. Was he afraid that if she found out, she would tear him apart or something? He had to keep the matter of his manager from her.

Jian Yi claimed that the agent she had was a complete puppet, and that Sister May was the real one.

"Okay, I got it."

Asking Sister May was pointless; finding Duan Qiyin was the right solution. He was the one who made the move, and she knew that perfectly well.

May had to go back to the company, so I didn't stay with her for too long.

The person had been in the house quietly for less than half an hour when the doorbell rang again.

I know who it is without even looking.

Wen Siyu stood at the door, still dressed fashionably. Ji Jiazhen suddenly thought of the model she had slept with before returning to China. She couldn't remember what she looked like, but she had a good figure.

She glanced at Wen Siyu's waist and abdomen. She had never seen him without clothes, but she always felt that his figure was better than that of a model.

He reached out, the key hanging from the tip of his index finger. Ji Jiazhen reached for it, but he suddenly clenched his fist and wrapped the key in his palm, pulling it back.

"Shall we go down and take a look?"

Ji Jiazhen lowered his hand that was hanging in the air and said, "Okay, let's take a look."

As Wen Siyu turned around, a gust of wind blew in through the window, ruffling the hair on his side and revealing his complete eyebrows. Ji Jiazhen caught a glimpse of a faint mark at the end of his eyebrow, about the length of a fingernail, pale red, and it looked like it was newly added.

"Did it get into a fight or get scratched by a cat?"

Wen Siyu glanced at her sideways, "I don't keep cats or dogs, I don't keep any living creatures, and I don't keep any people either."

Ji Jiazhen smiled and stepped into the elevator. "I was just asking."

"I was just saying."

The elevator went down to the basement level.

The bright spot in the parking space was so eye-catching that Ji Jiazhen took out her phone and snapped a picture.

The car is that Bugatti. A couple of days ago, she asked Wen Siyu if he knew anyone reliable to recommend. She wanted to change the car's color because black was too dull.

Wen Siyu gave her the solution directly, saving her the trouble of contacting him again. It was also very efficient, and the changes were completed today.

A rose-red supercar, it's the center of attention wherever it goes, super cool.

Wen Siyu tilted his head slightly towards the car, "Want to give it a try?"

"Sure."

The car door opened, Ji Jiazhen got in, locked it, and then lowered the other window.

Wen Siyu looked down at her, his expression clearly displeased. "Isn't that unfair?"

Ji Jiazhen took off the sunglasses hanging from her collar and put them on. She put her hands on the steering wheel and replied without looking at him, "Sorry, my passenger seat is reserved."

After saying that, he closed the car window, stepped on the gas, and the exhaust fumes sprayed all over Wen Siyu's face. He just left him in the parking lot like that.

*

It was past 1 p.m., and half the sky was gray, threatening a downpour. The outer ring expressway was unusually clear, and the drive was quite smooth.

A person was standing on the roadside not far away, wearing only shorts as if they weren't afraid of the cold. The car stopped in front of the person, and Ji Jiazhen lifted his sunglasses up and put them on his head, smiling as he looked out the car window: "Beautiful lady, want to get in?"

Xu Yanning moved her cheeks, her eyes casually scanning the front and rear of the car. She chewed her gum a few times, blew a bubble, and then popped it open with a "pop".

"Where did you steal this car from?"

"Just stole it in the parking lot, isn't it cool?"

Xu Yanning sat down. "It's alright."

"In the tens of millions."

"That's pretty cool."

After the conversation ended, the two of them burst out laughing at the same time.

That's how superficial it is.

Xu Yanning is Ji Jiazhen's photographer friend, and also the good buddy who gave her the screenshot of the trending topic. They've been friends since high school. They get along well, but neither of them is willing to admit defeat to the other, and they both think that they are the best.

The set of photos that made Ji Jiazhen an overnight sensation was taken by Xu Yanning. The two of them have been arguing about this for seven years. One says that she became popular because of her excellent photography skills, while the other says that she became popular because of her beautiful face and great figure.

After Ji Jiazhen became famous, Xu Yanning also opened a studio, and Duan Qiyin even invested some money in it. She is now a proper celebrity photographer, the kind that celebrities of all ages in the industry are vying to book. She is in high demand, but this girl has a very strong personality. She won't take on clients who are not good-looking, who have poor performance skills, or who don't trust her or follow her instructions.

Her terrible temper has led to her being criticized a lot over the years. Given their relationship, the criticism usually extends to the other person. No wonder she's a friend of Ji Jiazhen; they're like sisters who are mutually involved in each other's scandals.

Xu Yanning had been in Japan for a while and only returned to China this morning. When she got back, she found that her house had been burgled. The door had been pried open and things had been stolen, so she could no longer live there and came to stay with Ji Jiazhen.

A loud rumble of thunder followed, and raindrops pattered against the car roof.

"You'll be in charge of shooting a magazine shoot next week. You can decide on the theme, just make it beautiful and make sure it reflects my personality."

Xu Yanning looked utterly astonished, as if she knew nothing about it. "Who answered for me? Didn't I tell them I was ugly and refused when they contacted me?"

Ji Jiazhen glanced at the rearview mirror, and after making sure there were no cars behind him, he braked suddenly.

"Get off the bus."

The passenger in the passenger seat suddenly became nonchalant again, saying, "Alright, let's get going."

The car started moving, but Ji Jiazhen wasn't done yet. She was fiercely combative when it came to anything related to her face. If there were still any flaws to nitpick about her face, then there would be no justice.

She glanced to her right and shoved the passenger's shoulder. "Xu Yanning, open your eyes! If you dare fall asleep, I'll strangle you. Your camera is worth its life as a camera if it can capture my face, you understand? In other words, you have no regrets in this life if you have the honor of photographing me, you understand?"

"..."

"You fucking open your eyes."

"..."

"I left behind an incredibly handsome rich kid just to pick you up, you know that? Do you know how many men want to sit in my passenger seat? There's a long line of women who want to sit in my passenger seat, you know that? Is it appropriate for you to sleep in my passenger seat?"

"..."

"There's a pillar in front of us. If I floor the gas and crash into it from this angle, you'll most likely die while I'll only get minor injuries. Try closing your eyes again."

Annoyed to no end, Xu Yanning slowly turned her head and stared at Ji Jiazhen's profile for a long time, her attitude very serious. "I've been thinking that you look a lot like something, and now I know."

"Like what?"

"Next to my rented apartment in Kyoto, there was an old lady who had a little dog that you look just like."

Ji Jiazhen's emotions came and went quickly; right now, her attention was completely focused on the puppy.

"What does it look like? Is it cute? Let me see."

Xu Yanning leaned back and looked at the rain that was getting heavier and heavier. "Bigger, just like you, loves to bark. It's so noisy and annoying."

Ji Jiazhen was furious. "Damn it."

After less than thirty minutes of peace and quiet, Xu Yanning opened her eyes after dozing for a while, looked at the road outside the window, and frowned. "Could you drive any slower? How come we're only at Central now?"

"How dare you say that? Don't you know how far your run-down suburban studio is? It's such a hassle to get there."

Xu Yanning rubbed her temples. "Now that cities are so developed, do you know what a highway is?"

"I know."

"Then why not take the highway?"

Ji Jiazhen replied confidently: "The rain is too heavy and it's not safe on the highway. There's a top female celebrity and a third-rate photographer in the car. We can't take the risk."

Xu Yanning remembered what she had said earlier and retorted, "Don't steal sports cars next time. Stealing a Wuling Hongguang is enough. Sports cars are ruined once they're in your hands."

These words struck a nerve with Ji Jiazhen, and they argued all the way to the Hengrui Hotel before finally stopping.

Xu Yanning checked Hengrui's house prices on her phone, then turned to ask, "Did you steal the house too?"

"Yeah, I just stole it along with the others."

"Something's not right with you. Who said before that they didn't want to buy a house or rent one?"

The car turned into the underground parking lot.

"A change of scenery can change my mood."

Xu Yanning suddenly thought of something and sat up abruptly. "You haven't been completely bought off by Duan Qiyin and are planning to retire from the life of crime and say goodbye to the glamorous world, have you?"

Are you crazy?

As they drove closer to the parking space, Ji Jiazhen noticed that Wen Siyu's car window was open, and a hand playing with a lighter was resting on the window. The person was leaning against the seat, and their face was obscured.

Ji Jiazhen gradually applied the brakes and changed her words: "It is indeed possible that I will retire from the criminal world for a while." She turned her head and looked at Xu Yanning, "But not Duan Qiyin."

After speaking, he looked straight ahead. Inside the car, Wen Siyu hung up the phone, sat up, and his face was exposed to the light. He looked directly at Ji Jiazhen, meeting her gaze through the glass.

Xu Yanning looked at the two of them over and over again, and then she understood.

The car came to a stop in the parking space, and Wen Siyu got out of the car before them, one hand in his side pocket, fiddling with the metallic lighter in his hand.

Ji Jiazhen stood by the car without moving, and asked him from a distance of three or four meters, "Wait for me?"

Wen Siyu tilted his chin slightly in Xu Yanning's direction, his eyes still fixed on her, "The person who booked the passenger seat for you?"

Ji Jiazhen did not reply.

Xu Yanning turned around and asked her, "Which floor do you live on?"

Wen Siyu spoke first: "Twenty-seven."

Xu Yanning turned her gaze to him, and he added, "The password is eight zeros."

She turned around, made a hand gesture to Ji Jiazhen, and mouthed "666".

As I passed by Wen Siyu, I remarked, "That lighter is pretty cool."

She didn't actually think it was cool; it was just that the brand was expensive. She thought all expensive things were cool.

Wen Siyu replied quickly: "I have plenty. I'll have her get you two later."

Xu Yanning cast her gaze again, this time with admiration, her eyes saying, "You're quite perceptive, I have high hopes for you."

"I won't accept this for nothing. I'll give you a heads-up: you're exactly the type she adores."

Ji Jiazhen watched as the two of them went back and forth, revealing all her secrets, and she was so angry she wanted to laugh.

She waited until Xu Yanning was out of sight before speaking: "How did you know my password?"

"Just a guess."

I guess she's too lazy to spend time changing her password, and fingerprint unlock is enough, so she's still using the reset password.

He was right.

Ji Jiazhen walked slowly closer, the car key twirling on her fingertip, and said in front of him, "Since you're so good at guessing, then guess again whether what she just said is true or false."

Wen Siyu lowered his eyes. She wasn't wearing makeup today and had a habit of licking her lips. He could see her original lip color and the moisture on her lower lip.

He stared at it for two seconds before replying: "Half true, half false."

Which half is true, and which half is false?

He replied, "It's not the type I love, it's me."

That's a very thoughtful answer.
