Since their parting in the western suburbs, the two sisters had not seen each other again. Upon their reunion today, Yu Chan was understandably excited. She rushed towards her, calling out eagerly.

"Sister, I miss you so much!"

When they last met, Yu Chan's eyes were bright and clear, and her pretty face was full of a carefree smile. But today, she looked worried and clearly had something on her mind.

Seeing this, Chang Yue gave Xiao Ru a wink, and then the two of them left the room together.

After everyone left, Yu Chan asked softly, "Sister, has something happened to Brother Zheng? Where is he now? Can I see him?"

With Chang Yue guarding outside, it should be safe, so Su Yushan told her sister everything that had happened in the past two days. Yu Chan was both shocked and angry upon hearing this.

"Someone actually tried to frame my sister in my name! Who is this person, so brazen!"

Su Yushan knew who had harmed her, but she had no evidence. "The mastermind is in this mansion. I will try to gather evidence, but the most urgent task is to rescue Young Master Zheng."

Mentioning Zheng Lin, Yu Chan asked worriedly, "After what happened, will the Fourth Prince release him? Will Brother Zheng be subjected to vigilante justice?"

She was unable to answer that question. “Fourth Master is in a fit of anger. I cannot ask about Young Master Zheng. Doing so would not only fail to save him, but would also harm him.”

"Then what should we do? What exactly does Fourth Master want? We can't keep Brother Zheng locked up forever, can we?"

“He should have calmed down by now.” Just moments ago, Su Yushan was pondering how to remind Hongli to release Zheng Lin without provoking him, but now, seeing her sister, she suddenly realized that Yu Chan’s arrival was perfectly timed.

"Don't worry, sister. Let's wait a little longer until Fourth Master returns."

Su Yushan then ordered pastries and tea to be served. The two sisters sat together chatting about everyday things. About half an hour later, Hongli returned from the palace.

Dressed in official robes, he had a solemn and imposing appearance. Yu Chan was intimidated by him and dared not look him in the eye. She curtsied and said, "This humble woman greets the Fourth Prince."

Since they were Su Yushan's family, Hongli naturally treated them well. He then smiled warmly and said, "There's no need to be so polite among family members. Just call me brother-in-law."

Yu Chan glanced at her sister before obediently addressing her as "brother-in-law."

Remembering his previous promise, Hongli said politely, "I said last time that I would bring you over to accompany your sister, but I haven't had the time. Today you've come at the perfect time. You can stay for a few more days to comfort Yushan's longing for her family."

Su Yuchan sighed, "I would like to keep you company, but my aunt's birthday is coming up and there are many trivial matters at home. I really can't get away! Brother Zheng said he was going to have a drink with Fourth Master, but he has not returned. He is busy running around at home. He really knows how to steal a moment of leisure."

These were all things Su Yushan had taught her to say. Directly asking Hongli to release the person would be awkward for both sides. It was better to use this method, pretending that Yuchan was unaware of the inside story, and mentioning it briefly to see how Hongli would react.

Upon hearing this, Hongli's expression stiffened slightly, but he quickly recovered and said, "I had a very pleasant conversation with Young Master Zheng. He got a little drunk and decided to stay here. Since you have important matters to attend to at home, you should take him back. Whenever you have time and want to see your sister, you can come over anytime."

Hongli actually agreed!

Su Yushan was overjoyed, but remained outwardly calm. She gave her sister a few more instructions and then saw her out.

Next, she was to meet Zheng Lin. To avoid suspicion, Su Yushan did not go with him, but only sent Li Yu with Yu Chan.

Unaware of Zheng Lin's situation, Yu Chan anxiously followed Li Yu, turning several corners until they reached the door of a room. The door was locked, and Yu Chan called out anxiously...

"Brother Zheng, Brother Zheng!"

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Zheng Lin, despite his leg injury, struggled to stand up. Only after Li Yu gave the order did the guards unlock the door.

Yu Chan rushed inside, and what she saw was not the radiant handsome face of the past. His face was very haggard, and there were bruises on his lips and cheekbones, clearly indicating that he had been beaten.

"Brother Zheng, how are you?" Yu Chan was heartbroken and tears streamed down her face. Seeing that he had difficulty walking, she quickly went over to help him.

Zheng Lin disregarded his own injuries and only asked her, "Where is Yu Shan? How is she? Did Hongli give her any trouble?"

He addressed the Fourth Prince by his full name, which startled Yu Chan, who covered her lips with her finger to signal him to be quiet. "My sister is fine. We can talk about other things when we get outside."

How did Yu Chan get into the mansion? And why would Hongli let him out? Could it be that Yu Shan compromised herself and agreed to some condition?

Zheng Lin was deeply puzzled and wanted to ask for clarification, but Yu Chan said that there were too many people here and it was inconvenient to talk, so they had to wait until they went outside to talk.

Left with no other choice, Zheng Lin had to leave the mansion with her through the back door.

Inside the carriage at the alley entrance, Su Mingfeng waited anxiously. He had come with Yu Chan, but the guards said that only one relative could enter. Even if Su Mingfeng went in, it would be inconvenient for him to go to the backyard to see Yu Shan, so he could only let Yu Chan in.

He had been waiting outside for a long time, not knowing what was going on inside. It was almost an hour before he finally saw Yu Chan and Zheng Lin.

Seeing that Zheng Lin was injured, Su Mingfeng hurriedly asked him what had happened.

Zheng Lin's lip was badly injured, and speaking even a few words caused him excruciating pain. Yu Chan then gave a rough retelling of what she had heard from her sister. Su Mingfeng listened, completely puzzled.

"Not many people know about this, so why would anyone make a fuss about it?"

"My sister also found it strange. She asked me to ask my older brother if anyone on our side had revealed her engagement to others."

Su Mingfeng was always tight-lipped. "This matter is of great importance. I have never mentioned it to anyone. I will ask Jiafeng when I get back."

Zheng Lin didn't care about any of that; he only cared about Su Yushan's situation. "Yushan, tell me the truth, why did Hongli change his mind and let me go? What deal did Yushan make with him?"
