The Dead Burn Incense, Puppets Sit in the Hall

In our long-standing and historically rich land of China, many professions have their own rules and taboos. This is especially true for ancient and mysterious crafts.

For instance, when engag...

Chapter 227 Hey, carry one away

After calming himself down, Zhao Youliang cautiously "reminded" the not-so-bright young general.

"Um, when you came here, didn't you notice anything strange about this place?"

"Strange?" The young general was taken aback. "Quantum, are you saying that everyone here is going to die?"

"So what if I die? It's no big deal."

"My dad is dead, and now I can only wander around his grave every day."

Zhao Youliang was clearly not at the level of a young general, and his concept of life and death was different from that of a young general, so he was speechless for a while.

The young general was clearly not good at understanding others, so he didn't care about Zhao Youliang's feelings at all.

"Oh, by the way, Quantum, I heard your paper-making shop is really fun, can you take me to see it?"

"We won't let you watch for nothing, I'll give you ten thousand including this meal!"

"Don't be shy with me, we're so rich we only have money left!"

......

With a mix of trepidation and excitement, Zhao Youliang led the young general to the paper-making shop.

Just as he was about to remind the other party that this place was haunted and they shouldn't go through the main entrance, the young general kicked the door open.

Suddenly, a cold wind howled, blowing... and disappeared in front of the young general, as if it had never existed.

"Oh my god, such a heavy yin energy?!"

The young general stared with his not-so-bright eyes, looking left and right until he saw the two pitch-black coffins.

"Holy crap, everything inside is gone, all that's left is resentment."

The "things inside" that the young general was referring to were clearly not the two puppets, but rather the contents of the coffin.

Zhao Youliang deeply understood this point, and subconsciously thought of his cousin.

If my cousin is one of them, then who is the other one?

And my cousin doesn't look fierce at all, so how come he's been suppressed here...?

While Zhao Youliang was lost in thought, the not-so-bright young general had already lost interest in the paper-making shop.

"There's nothing fun about it; those unscrupulous drivers are just trying to fool us."

"But since we're here, we can't leave empty-handed."

"Hehe, let's carry away a big coffin and leave those lousy drivers worrying!"

The unethical driver the young general mentioned was the one who tricked Zhao Youliang into coming to watch over the paper-making shop.

It was also the "Ink Emperor" who drove the gentleman when he arrived.

(For details, please refer to Chapter 0087 of this book: Untainted by Dust)

The young general was a man of action. After saying the above words, before Zhao Youliang could react, he had already assumed a horse stance and shouted, "Rise!"

Then, incredibly, he actually carried the hundreds-of-pounds stone coffin on his back.

"Hehehe, alright, I'm leaving. Quantum, you can play by yourself."

"I'll come find you again when I have time."

"Your grilled kidneys are really good!"

As he spoke, the young general had already jumped onto the dog's back and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Zhao Youliang was left alone, staring in disbelief at the last remaining coffin.

Just then, Liao Zhiyuan came running in, panting heavily.

"Liang, Brother Quantum, the young general is here? Where is he? Please take me to pay my respects!"

The one who answered Liao Zhiyuan was not Zhao Youliang, but Chang Jie, who kept smoking.

"Young man, you're too late. The young general has already left."

"They're gone?!" Liao Zhiyuan's face was full of disappointment upon hearing this.

"Brother Chang Jie, why didn't you come out to pay your respects when the young general was here?"

Chang Jie still looked half-dead and said something that almost made Liao Zhiyuan vomit blood.

"I'm afraid he'll steal my cigarette."

At this moment, Zhao Youliang was not concerned about the cigarettes, but rather about the paper-making shop.

"Xiao Liao, the young general carried away one of the coffins. What impact does that have on us?!"

"Is it a good thing or a bad thing?!"

Upon hearing this, Liao Zhiyuan did not rush to answer, but instead asked seriously about what had happened.

"Brother Quantum, the young general said that only resentment remains in the coffin?"

"Yes, that's what he said!" Zhao Youliang nodded repeatedly, while trying to take the small wooden knife off the offering table.

In an instant, a cold wind howled, and the temperature inside the paper-making shop plummeted.

In the blink of an eye, Zhao Youliang's eyebrows were covered with frost, making him look like a white-browed swordsman.

This terrified Zhao Youliang, who quickly put the small wooden knife back.

"Oh my god, how come there's only one coffin left? That's even weirder?"

Liao Zhiyuan, who was also shivering from the cold, replied tremblingly, "It's not that it's gotten even weirder, but that the door wasn't closed and couldn't keep the coffin in place."

Liao Zhiyuan closed the door of the paper-making shop as he spoke, and after a while, he continued.

"Quantum Bro, it seems we still can't leave here; we have to continue following the rules."

"Although there's one less coffin, they're still not something we can handle."

"This is equivalent to us watching over two nuclear bombs and preventing them from exploding."

"Even though the young general took one away, the rest can still kill us."

Upon hearing this, Zhao Youliang felt disappointed. He picked up Chang Jie and took Liao Zhiyuan back to the barbecue restaurant to help out.

Upon seeing Sister Yingchun, Zhao Youliang hurriedly asked, "Sister, where did you go just now?"

"How did you know the young general was coming before I did?"

Sister Yingchun was equally taken aback by the question: "Me? I've been here the whole time?"

"And what are you talking about, Young General? Who is Young General? When did he ever come here?!"

"Huh?!" Seeing that Sister Yingchun didn't seem to be lying, Zhao Youliang was even more surprised.

Just as I was about to press for more information, I saw that Sister Yingchun's expression suddenly changed and her body swayed as if she were about to collapse.
