Chapter 40: The Dagger is Revealed at the End of the Story

A little while later, Qin Ye brought Qin Xiaoxiao her lunch. After taking the food, Qin Ye told Qin Xiaoxiao to take the lunchbox home the next day at noon, and then he left.

Back in the backyard, I opened the lunchbox and, lo and behold! It was dumplings.

Although Miao Feifei didn't have much money, her current outfit was quite nice—a white floral cotton top and black pants—much better than what she was wearing.

She's so rich, and she's spent all her money on Qin Xiaoxiao, so she probably wouldn't mind spending some on her, right?

Lü Zhaodi immediately flashed a fawning smile and affectionately took Miao Feifei's arm. "Feifei, look how beautiful you are in this dress! Did you buy it from your shop, or did you make it yourself?"

Unaware that Lü Zhaodi had set her sights on her, Miao Feifei didn't react for a moment. When Lü Zhaodi asked about her clothes, she proudly raised her chin and said, "I made them myself."

She said it looked beautiful. This was the first time someone had said her clothes looked good, especially since she made them herself.

Miao Feifei smiled shyly, "It's alright."

"Feifei, since you're so capable, could you make one for me too?"

Miao Feifei was taken aback when she heard this, and suddenly realized that something seemed a little off.

"Making...making clothes? You want to make clothes? Did you bring any fabric?"

Dressed so shabbily, why would she bring cloth to the countryside? If she had cloth, why didn't she make something at home?

Miao Feifei thought of getting up to find an excuse to leave, planning to continue her plans tomorrow.

But Lü Zhaodi had found a complete idiot, and she was not about to let him go so easily. She held onto Miao Feifei's arm tightly with both hands and forcibly pressed her down on the kang (a heated brick bed) so that she could not move.

Lu Zhaodi said with a half-smile, "Where would I get any cloth? You can tell I'm broke just by looking at my clothes. Feifei is so kind, she even spends money on Qin Xiaoxiao, so I suppose she'll help me too, right?"

When the map was unrolled, the true colors were revealed; Lü Zhaodi finally showed her true colors.

Miao Feifei didn't expect Lü Zhaodi to be waiting for her here. She wondered why Lü Zhaodi had praised her; it turned out she wanted to ask Lü Zhaodi for clothes.

Miao Feifei suppressed her anger and smiled, "Where would I get cloth? Buying cloth not only costs money, but also requires cloth coupons. I have money, but I don't have cloth coupons."

Lü Zhaodi laughed even more happily, "Then let me wear this dress you're wearing, I don't want it, I just want to borrow it."

Miao Feifei finally understood that Lü Zhaodi had no intention of asking her for new clothes at all, but was eyeing the one she was wearing.

First, he praised her for being capable, leading her to the edge of the pit. Then he said he would make one for her, making her step into the pit with one foot. Then he said he had no money and asked her to make it for him, which was directly pushing her into the pit. Finally, he stepped back and said he would lend her his clothes, standing at the edge of the pit and laughing at her.

Lü Zhaodi's repeated retreats left Miao Feifei with nowhere to go. In order to allow Lü Zhaodi to continue causing trouble for Qin Xiaoxiao, Miao Feifei had no choice but to grit her teeth and accept it.

Miao Feifei walked out of Lü Zhaodi's room with a livid face. She went back to her own room to change out of the clothes she was wearing, and then gave them to Lü Zhaodi. Feeling unwilling, she gave Qin Xiaoxiao another dressing-down before going back to sleep.

Miao Feifei was in a hurry because she was angry, and she didn't see the way Lü Zhaodi looked at her, as if she were a complete idiot.

After finishing her dinner, Qin Xiaoxiao cleaned the lunchbox, then lit a fire to boil water, storing it in her spatial storage, leaving some for her bath later that night.

After taking a shower, Qin Xiaoxiao narrowed her eyes slightly as she recalled the trouble Lü Zhaodi had caused her earlier that day.

She's not some saintly figure, so good-natured that she lets herself be suppressed. If she doesn't fight back once, they'll dare to cause her trouble again next time. The only way to get rid of her once and for all is to kill her outright.
