The setting sun, like blood, dyed the sky a brilliant orange-red, its afterglow spilling into every corner of the village, adding a touch of solemnity to this tranquil place. The shimmering river beside the village reflected the sky and the two figures embracing on its banks.

Lin Yue and Chen Yu sat quietly by the river. After a long conversation and reflection, their eyes still held a hint of weariness, but more so a resolute determination. Lin Yue leaned on Chen Yu's shoulder, her face appearing soft and poignant in the sunset. She wore a slightly wrinkled white cotton shirt, one button undone at the collar, revealing a small patch of fair skin. A few strands of hair clung to her cheeks with sweat, but this did not detract from her beauty. Her gaze was fixed on the distance, as if searching for something, and her lips moved slightly, breaking the silence.

"Chen Yu, I've made up my mind. We can't give up like this. Our love is so precious; we can't let go easily just because of difficulties." Lin Yue's voice was soft, but it carried an undeniable firmness. She turned to look at Chen Yu, her eyes sparkling with a light—the flame of love rekindling.

Chen Yu gazed into Lin Yue's eyes, seeing the unwavering determination within them, and a warm feeling welled up inside him. His dark blue cotton shirt swayed gently in the breeze. He reached out and softly brushed a strand of hair behind Lin Yue's ear, his fingers tracing her face with tender affection. "Yue'er, that's what I think too. No matter what hardships lie ahead, we'll face them together. Our love transcends time; it's worth holding onto." Chen Yu's voice was deep and strong, every word filled with his profound love for Lin Yue and his unwavering commitment to their relationship.

Lin Yue nodded slightly, tears welling in her eyes, but this time they were tears of emotion. "I know it will be difficult, and we may encounter more problems, but as long as we are together, I will have the courage to face them." She held Chen Yu's hand tightly, as if drawing more strength from him. Her hand was a little cold and trembling slightly, showing that although she had made a decision, she still had a trace of unease deep in her heart.

Chen Yu sensed Lin Yue's nervousness. He gripped her hand tightly and gently patted the back of it with his other hand, as if soothing a frightened bird. "Yue'er, don't be afraid. We've been through so much, from planting new crops to performing arts shows, we've overcome every challenge. This time will be the same, we can definitely do it." Chen Yu's eyes were full of confidence, and he tried to convey that confidence to Lin Yue, easing her worries.

Just then, a bird flew overhead, chirping sweetly, as if cheering on their decision. Lin Yue looked up, watching the bird fly away, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Look," she said, a hint of relief in her voice, a sign that the burden on her heart had lessened after making the decision.

Chen Yu followed Lin Yue's gaze, a smile spreading across his face. "Yes, this is a good omen. Yue'er, we must believe that our love will be as free and resilient as this bird." His smile was as warm as the sun, dispelling the lingering gloom in Lin Yue's heart.

The two stood up and walked slowly along the riverbank, hand in hand. The afterglow of the setting sun lengthened their shadows, and although their steps were slow, they were exceptionally firm. A gentle breeze rustled the grass on both sides of the river, as if playing a love song for them.

"Chen Yu, I know our love will face misunderstanding from many people, especially my parents. But I believe that as long as we are happy, one day they will understand us." Lin Yue looked at the road ahead, a trace of worry flashing in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by determination. She knew that choosing to be with Chen Yu meant facing the pain and possible accusations from her parents in the modern world, but she was mentally prepared.

Chen Yu gripped Lin Yue's hand tightly, his brows furrowing slightly, a hint of heartache flashing in his eyes. "Yue'er, I don't want you to have a rift with your parents because of me. We can work together to find a way to let them know that our love is real and beautiful." He knew Lin Yue had deep feelings for her parents, and he didn't want her to lose that bond because of him.

Lin Yue stopped and turned to face Chen Yu, taking his arm in her hands and looking at him sincerely. "Chen Yu, I know you mean well. But let's not think about that now. We should cherish the time we have together and work hard to make our love stronger." Her eyes were full of trust and reliance on Chen Yu. She believed that as long as they worked together, no difficulty was insurmountable.

Chen Yu looked at Lin Yue, nodded, and pulled her into his arms. "Okay, Yue'er, let's work hard together," he whispered in Lin Yue's ear. His embrace was warm and strong, making Lin Yue feel incredibly safe.

Back in the village, it was already getting dark. Wisps of smoke rose from the chimneys, and the aroma of food filled the air. The villagers smiled kindly at Lin Yue and Chen Yu as they returned hand in hand. An older woman smiled and said to them, "You two are such a perfect match! You seem to be in good spirits today." The woman was dressed in simple floral clothing, her face beaming with a kind smile, her eyes filled with blessings for them.

Lin Yue smiled a little shyly, "Thank you, Auntie, we're doing fine." Her cheeks flushed slightly, and a warm feeling welled up inside her. In this small village, the villagers' simplicity and kindness made her feel the warmth of home, and it also strengthened her resolve to be with Chen Yu.
