A post-90s female military doctor on night duty wakes up to find herself transmigrated to the 1970s, becoming an educated youth's wife.
After accepting reality, she works hard with her hu...
The morning sun shone softly through the thin clouds, bathing the village in a pale golden hue, gilding the roof tiles and the flowers and grass along the village roads. However, this beautiful morning could not dispel the faint haze that lingered over the village.
Lin Yue and Chen Yu walked hand in hand along the village path, their faces radiating the sweet determination of their love. Lin Yue wore a simple floral dress, the hem swaying gently with her steps, as light and carefree as her mood. Her eyes were bright and sparkling, and the corners of her mouth always unconsciously turned up, as if everything in the world had become beautiful. Chen Yu wore a neat white shirt, the cuffs slightly rolled up, revealing his strong forearms, making him look energetic and spirited. He glanced at Lin Yue from time to time, his eyes filled with love, as if looking at her was enough to possess the whole world.
"Chen Yu, look how beautiful this village is now. Over this period of time, everyone's lives have gotten better and better, and I'm really happy," Lin Yue said to Chen Yu with a smile, her voice like the clear chirping of birds echoing in the morning air.
Chen Yu smiled and nodded, "Yes, it's all thanks to you, Yue'er. Your ideas have injected new vitality into this village." He squeezed Lin Yue's hand, his eyes filled with admiration for her.
As the two were talking, they suddenly heard an argument. The sound broke the morning's tranquility, coming from the direction of the village square. They exchanged a glance and hurried towards the square.
In the square, several villagers were arguing heatedly. Aunt Liu stood in the middle of the crowd, her brow furrowed, her eyes filled with anxiety and helplessness. She wore a dark blue coarse cloth blouse, the hem worn and frayed, a testament to the passage of time. Her hair was somewhat disheveled, a few strands of white standing out sharply in the sunlight. "Everyone, stop arguing! This can't go on!" Aunt Liu shouted, trying to stop the argument, but her voice was quickly drowned out by the shouts of the others.
"Why should their family get more? Our family also contributed!" A young villager's face turned red, the veins on his neck bulged, and he waved his arms, extremely agitated.
“That’s right, we can’t let this go unpunished!” another villager chimed in, his eyes filled with anger and his fists clenched tightly.
Lin Yue and Chen Yu quickly walked to Aunt Liu's side. Lin Yue's heart tightened as she looked at the arguing villagers; she knew something was wrong in the village. "Aunt Liu, what's going on? Why are they arguing?" Lin Yue asked, her eyes filled with concern, her brows slightly furrowed.
When Aunt Liu saw Lin Yue, it was as if she had seen a savior. "Lin Yue, you've finally come. It's a bumper harvest, and the village was distributing the produce, but the distribution wasn't even, so everyone started arguing." Aunt Liu sighed and shook her head helplessly.
Lin Yue understood immediately. As living standards improved, the issue of resource allocation began to emerge. She looked at Chen Yu, and the two exchanged a glance, both realizing that this problem needed to be addressed as soon as possible.
Lin Yue stepped forward and raised her voice, saying, "Everyone, please stop arguing and listen to me for a moment." Her voice, though soft, had a calming effect. The villagers' eyes all turned to her, and the arguing gradually subsided.
“I know everyone is angry and feels it’s unfair. But arguing won’t solve anything; we need to sit down and discuss it properly.” Lin Yue’s eyes swept across each villager’s face, her expression serious and earnest.
The young villager snorted, "Discuss? They clearly got more than their share, what's there to discuss?" His tone was still aggressive, but he didn't continue shouting.
Lin Yue looked at him and said patiently, "I understand how you feel, but we need to figure out why it was allocated this way first. Maybe there's some misunderstanding? We can't just start blaming each other; that will only make the conflict bigger." Her tone was gentle, but it conveyed an undeniable firmness.
At this moment, an older villager stepped forward: "Lin Yue, we don't want to argue, but there really is a problem with this distribution. Our family has a lot of people, but we won't get much. How are we supposed to live?" His eyes revealed helplessness and grievance, and his voice trembled as he spoke.
Lin Yue nodded: "Uncle, I understand your difficulties. We will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly and give everyone a fair result." Her eyes were full of determination; she knew this matter concerned the harmony of the village and could not be taken lightly.
Chen Yu walked among the villagers and said, "Everyone, calm down first, let's think of a solution together. We're all from the same village, we can't let this hurt our harmony." His voice was steady and powerful, giving people a sense of reliability.
With Chen Yu and Lin Yue's reassurance, the villagers gradually calmed down. But Lin Yue knew this was only temporary; to truly resolve the problem, a deeper understanding of the situation was needed.
Lin Yue, Chen Yu, and Aunt Liu arrived at the warehouse responsible for distributing supplies. The warehouse was somewhat dim, and a musty smell filled the air. Some grains and daily necessities were placed on the shelves, and several unopened boxes lay on the floor.
Lin Yue looked at the supplies in the warehouse and fell into deep thought. She knew that to solve the distribution problem, she first needed to understand the standards and process of distribution. "Aunt Liu, what standards were used for this distribution?" Lin Yue asked.
Aunt Liu thought for a moment and replied, "Originally, the harvest was divided according to the number of people in each family, but this time a portion of the harvest is from new crops, and people have disagreements about how to divide this part. Some families feel that it should be divided according to the amount of labor, because they put in more effort when planting the new crops."
