Chapter 454 Fourth Master, Hongjing

In the front yard, in the study, Su Peisheng suddenly whispered something in Fourth Master's ear.

"He really came!" Fourth Master stopped writing, put down his brush, and said, "Let him in!"

After receiving the message, Hongjing entered with a lovely smile and greeted the Fourth Master.

"Get up. What brings you here?" Although that was the question, when Fourth Master was compiling the list of people to go to the manor and deliberately omitting Hongjing, he had already guessed that this little guy wouldn't give up so easily. He just had to see what he would do next.

If he still doesn't learn his lesson, then you can't blame his father for not giving him face and continuing to educate him.

Fourth Master looked at Hongjing, a fleeting look of regret flashing in his eyes.

Hongjing felt a chill run down his spine. One of his chubby little hands involuntarily moved behind him, and his bottom started to ache slightly.

At the same time, he began to feel glad that he hadn't planned to sneak off and follow them, but instead went to find his father, asked him to change his mind, and take him with him.

"Father!" Hongjing's voice was sweeter than ever before.

Fourth Master couldn't help but shudder, and Su Peisheng involuntarily touched his arm, goosebumps rising on his skin.

No, that's gone too far!

Upon realizing this, Hongjing immediately decided to change his plan. He moved closer to the Fourth Master, clenched his small fist, and eagerly massaged the Fourth Master's back.

"Father, let Jing'er give you a massage. That will make you feel much better." This time, Hongjing learned from his mistake, and his voice returned to normal. Moreover, his tone sounded quite sincere.

Su Peisheng: The Fifth Prince is amazing. Once he realizes what he did wrong, he immediately corrects it and does it even better. Luckily, he's a prince, not someone who serves others like him. Otherwise, if there were someone like him in the master's court, I'm afraid my position would be in jeopardy.

Fourth Master raised an eyebrow and said in a nonchalant tone, "Barely!" With that, he leaned back in his chair, pointed to his legs, and closed his eyes.

Hongjing: "..." Seriously, why are you being so hypocritical?! This is clearly an act of enjoyment! Otherwise, why would you order him around massaging your legs?!

Hongjing served the Fourth Master until it was time for his meal.

Su Peisheng had someone bring it back from Taoyuan. As soon as it was brought in and placed on the table, the aroma wafted over, making people unable to resist swallowing their saliva.

Hongjing stopped massaging his legs. Fourth Master opened his eyes and glanced at him.

Hongjing immediately smiled ingratiatingly at the Fourth Master, and then fawned over him by massaging his legs.

"No need!" Fourth Master stopped him, saying, "Let's have our meal first."

Let's have a meal first! He hasn't had his mother's cooking for many days, he's been craving it.

The little guy couldn't help but laugh out loud at the thought of the delicious food he was about to eat.

Hearing his laughter, Fourth Master glanced at Hongjing, a smirk playing on his lips, and ordered, "Hongjing, come here and serve Father some food!"

Hongjing opened her mouth slightly and pointed at herself, "Me, serving food?" Shouldn't she be told to sit down and eat together?

Fourth Master looked at Hongjing and said meaningfully, "Of course, you can sit down and eat with us."

Upon hearing this, Hongjing did not sit down happily, but instead obediently came to the Fourth Master's side. At this moment, Su Peisheng considerately brought over a stool.

Upon seeing the stool, Hongjing immediately understood that Su Peisheng had specially brought it over so that he could stand on it to reach the food on the table because he was short and couldn't reach it.

He gave Su Peisheng a resentful look—Steward Su, you don't have to be so considerate!

Su Peisheng smiled at Hongjing and dutifully followed the Fourth Prince's instructions, pointing to the stool and saying to Hongjing, "Fifth Prince, please stand up. I'll leave this place to you."

Hongjing glared at Su Peisheng as if he were fierce, then stepped onto the stool, took the chopsticks Su Peisheng handed him, and began to serve his father food.

Su Peisheng's eyes were curved in a smile, and the Fifth Prince's gaze and expression were so adorable! Although he looked quite like the young prince, he was much cuter than the young prince.

Fourth Master, of course, did not miss the "confrontation" between Hongjing and Su Peisheng. As he watched, a smile appeared in his eyes.

Once Hongjing was ready, the smile in his eyes faded into the depths of his gaze, and he adopted a normal expression before giving Hongjing instructions.

"this!"

Hongjing used both his ears and eyes to know what his father wanted to eat. Immediately, his chubby little hands reached out with chopsticks, steadily picked up the food, and put it in his father's bowl.

While eating, Fourth Master gestured to Hongjing with his eyes to continue picking up food.

Of course, there were things that Hongjing couldn't understand, and he would immediately speak up.

"That one over there!"

And so, Hongjing served the Fourth Master his meal for nearly half an hour.

As he served the dishes, he smelled the aroma of the food, his mouth watering constantly, and he would swallow the saliva from time to time.

It was so obvious that Fourth Master didn't notice, but even if he did, he didn't soften his heart and let Hongjing sit down to eat.

After he finished eating, he paused when he said, "These leftover dishes," his gaze lingering on the expectant Hongjing before moving on to Su Peisheng.

Su Peisheng was always good at reading people, and he knew exactly what his master was planning. He didn't speak up for the Fifth Prince Hongjing, but remained silent.

Hongjing grew anxious. "Father, I haven't eaten yet. Can I have the rest of the food?"

The Fourth Prince frowned and said, "How can you, the Fifth Prince of the Yongqin Prince's Mansion, eat leftovers?"

“Sure,” Hongjing replied decisively, then added matter-of-factly, “The poem ‘Sympathy for the Peasants’ says, ‘Hoeing the fields at noon, sweat drips onto the soil. Who knows that every grain in the bowl is the result of hard work?’ Food is hard-earned, and as a grandson of the emperor, I should set an example. So, there’s nothing wrong with eating leftovers!”
