The apocalypse arrived, and Lin Xi unexpectedly turned into a conscious zombie.
From then on, she embarked on a journey to find her family alongside superpowered companions.
When encoun...
"Now that the world has become like this, can those of us who survived really continue to live?"
Chen Jin rested his hand on his forehead; this young teacher, in his late twenties, looked utterly weathered.
"Your internet connection is down?"
Chen Jin was taken aback by this sudden question. "What do you mean?"
"It means exactly what it says. Is your phone dead, so you can't see the messages outside?"
He nodded, still a little confused.
Lin Xi explained, "Given the current situation, the country will definitely try every means to deal with it. So, as early as half a month ago, various places began to establish safe zones to protect survivors."
The light in his eyes gradually brightened.
"Perhaps, together?"
Lin Xi smiled, and Chen Jin suddenly felt that even the ordinary face in front of him had a radiant glow.
Where to?
"I'm going to S City. Of course, if we encounter any other safe zones along the way, I'll take you and your students there directly."
Chen Jin looked at the little girl beside him, "Jiaojiao, shall we run away with the teacher?"
Jiaojiao shook her head, "I don't want to! I want to go back, I want to be with my mom and dad."
"Okay! I'll take you back to take a look, and then you can decide what to do next."
In this apocalyptic world, unless one awakens supernatural abilities, no one can escape the fate of dying in the countryside and being assimilated by zombies.
The two sat in the back of the SUV, feeling both excited and apprehensive.
Jiaojiao pressed her face against the car window, looking at the scenery outside, and visibly became disappointed.
After walking along a path through the rice paddies, they arrived at a two-story self-built house with its door wide open and the ground cluttered. Jiao Jiao finally couldn't hold back her tears and broke down in tears.
You don't even need to go down to see what's going on inside; the main door has been smashed open with a huge hole in it.
You can see the overturned wooden benches even from outside.
Jiaojiao walked around inside for a while and then came back with her schoolbag.
After an hour or two, Chen Jin and she finally became familiar with each other.
"Lin Xi, what do you do for a living? Why are you so good at it?"
"Just graduated from high school, isn't that amazing? Maybe it's because I have superpowers."
Upon hearing those two words, Chen Jin immediately became interested. "Is it the kind of thing described in movies and novels?"
"Um."
"Actually, you can give it a try. In the past two weeks, many people have awakened their superpowers. If you make use of them and train them, the road ahead will be much safer."
Chen Jin looked at his hands and shook his head. "How could that be? I didn't feel any changes in my body."
"That's not necessarily true." Lin Xi glanced at Chen Jin in the rearview mirror. "I'm quite curious, though, how exactly did you manage to subdue a low-level zombie?"
"What?"
Lin Xi then explained the zombie levels to him.
Chen Jin was shocked after hearing this, "Can you level up after becoming a zombie?"
"Based on the current situation, that's how it is." Lin Xi continued to throw the question at him, "You still haven't told me how you subdued that low-level zombie."
Chen Jin thought back carefully.
It is indeed a bit strange.
He saw Teacher Xiaoya suddenly rush out and grab Jiaojiao, even faster than the zombies he had seen before.
He immediately became anxious.
Suddenly, she moved very fast and snatched Jiaojiao from his hands.
At that time, the zombie-like Teacher Xiaoya even bit his arm.
"What? You got bitten and why didn't you say so sooner?"
Lin Xi slammed on the brakes, and the two people behind him were suddenly thrown forward.
Chen Jin was stunned for a moment. "She bit me, but I didn't feel any pain. I looked at it and there were no wounds."
Lin Xi: ?
How is that possible?
This is a low-level zombie!
Do you think their teeth are made of dough?
"Teacher Chen, could you please roll up your sleeve so I can take a look?"
Lin Xi looked at him seriously. This kind of thing could be a big deal or a small deal. Less than four hours had passed. If he had really been bitten, there was still time to give him a vaccine.
Thinking of this, Lin Xi felt a surge of relief. Luckily, he himself had said so. If he had really been infected with the zombie virus, it wouldn't have been long before the little girl next to him would have to contribute two ordinary zombie crystal cores to her along with him.
"By the way, Teacher Chen, isn't it quite hot today? Do you really need to wear a long-sleeved shirt?" Lin Xi was very puzzled.
Upon seeing this outfit, she couldn't help but think of Lu Mingxing and Tang He.
They went even further, wearing leather jackets in the sweltering heat.
How afraid of the cold must they be?
Chen Jin smiled sheepishly, “Because of my profession, the principal said that we male teachers should dress more appropriately. If we always wear short sleeves, the leaders who come down for inspections can’t tell if we are students or teachers.”
Lin Xi looked at his face more closely. He did look quite young, like an eighteen-year-old boy.
Chen Jin blushed.
She rolled up her sleeves little by little, revealing a section of her fair wrist.
There wasn't even a red tooth mark, let alone a wound.
Are you sure you got bitten?
Jiaojiao also found it strange and peeked over to look. "I remember that Teacher Xiaoya did bite Teacher Chen."
Lin Xi didn't say anything, but quietly took a dagger out of the bag in the passenger seat.
Before Chen Jin could react, he quickly slashed the tip of the knife at his arm.
bite--
Chen Jin was startled by the sudden movement and didn't have time to dodge. He watched as the tip of the knife stopped on his skin, making a strange sound.
