Does having a lot of money lead to a good fate, or does a good fate bring wealth? Qin Kour often wondered if she and that monstrous man had chosen the wrong questions when they were reincarnated, c...
Lan Linxue immediately noticed this subtle movement, and he turned to look at Qin Kou'er with a displeased expression: "What's wrong?"
Qin Kou'er frowned as she looked at him: "This kind of setup is a facility that Qin Tiange often uses. Wherever there is a weak point in the guard, they will put a pool underneath, so that if anyone comes in, they will fall in!"
Lan Linxue immediately frowned, thought for a moment, and said, "There's nothing strange about this! After all, my mother is also a member of the Qin family, so it's not surprising that my father knows some of the Qin family's arrangements!"
Qin Kou'er remained silent, continuing to look at the Qu sisters and saying, "You two continue!"
Qu Feng'er continued, "As soon as we went in, we found it very strange, and it looked exactly like the Qin family's Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness. However, the Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness was much larger and had a more magnificent structure. But this place, although small, was ingeniously designed in every aspect."
I think there's a big problem here, so I told Ling'er to be careful.
We entered from the side, and we didn't get a clear view of the main hall. We just followed the winding corridor and explored little by little, as the master had told us.
However, we've only ever seen the blueprints of that winding corridor; we've never actually walked through it ourselves. I think if the scene before us is truly the same as ours, then all the hidden weapons must be hidden in the same places and in the same ways.
So I took Ling'er and headed towards the back room.
As a result, although most of the mechanisms were designed exactly the same, we still accidentally triggered one when we turned a corner, which injured Ling'er.
Fortunately, the hidden weapon wasn't poisoned. But once the mechanism was activated, the path ahead of us completely changed.
Everything seemed to have changed; no matter which way we went, it was a dead end. And in many places, mirrors had been placed, creating a kaleidoscope-like effect that made it impossible for us to find the real path or direction.
The Pavilion Master used a similar arrangement in our secret chamber. Therefore, I conclude that the person who designed this must have a close relationship with our Qin family.
I tried to follow the Bagua (Eight Trigrams) arrangement in our secret room, but something was wrong. It not only had the Bagua, but also the Nine Palaces numerology. Now, neither of us could get out.
I knew we were trapped here, and in my utter helplessness, I could only bow my head and apologize with Ling'er, saying that we had disturbed the peace of our ancestors. I pleaded that if it was truly the Qin family ancestors protecting us, they should let Ling'er and me out!
The mechanism only completely retracted after we knelt and kowtowed three times. However, unexpectedly, instead of escaping, the ground collapsed, and we fell directly into another secret chamber.
"Yes, yes, that secret room was really scary!"
Qu Ling'er continued, picking up where Qu Feng'er left off, "That place was pitch black. As soon as my sister and I fell in, we knew something was wrong, so we immediately clenched our hands together. We figured that if we could just touch the edge, we could always get out."
But strangely enough, the place was filled with cool, mirror-like surfaces, seemingly endless. What was even more frightening was that there were other people there. I could always feel someone blowing on our backs. Even when my sister and I were back to back, I could feel someone blowing on the back of our necks—it was terrifying!
The sect leader knows our skills; although we may not dominate the martial arts world, we are among the best in the world. But, in front of that female ghost, we were like children, no matter which way we went, we were followed by her eerily.
Later, we were both too exhausted to keep going, so we had to kneel down and admit defeat again.
Suddenly a light appeared, and we both ran towards it for our lives.
But when we got close, we both turned around at the same time, and there, out of nowhere, stood a white female ghost, like a shadow, between us! It was terrifying!
At this point, Qu Ling'er clutched her clothes tightly in fear, glancing outside with terrified eyes, as if the female ghost was about to follow her in.
As Qin Kou'er listened, she reflexively tapped her fingers lightly on the table.
"How did you two end up being released?"
Lan Linxue seemed to be engrossed in the conversation and asked directly.
"Then the light disappeared again. When it came back on, there was a road ahead."
The shadow vanished, and we only heard someone say, "You're not the ones I'm waiting for. Go back, and don't come back again." Then we both ran away as fast as we could. We escaped! But we were seen climbing over the wall, which led to the assassin incident I mentioned later.
After Qu Feng'er finished speaking, everyone fell silent, seemingly lost in thought, wondering who this person really was.
Jun Yannuo thought for a moment, then frowned slightly and looked at Qin Kou'er: "Who do you think it could be?"
Qin Kou'er shook her head slightly, but looked up at Jun Yannuo and said softly, "However, although I don't know who this person is, I know she must be involved in something important with the Qin family. She said those two weren't the people she was waiting for, so that was clearly meant for me! The person she's waiting for is me! Today, the Qu sisters only walked into a testing ground set up by someone else, without passing the test, so of course they're not the people she's waiting for! Therefore, I think I must go and test them myself!"
"no!"
"no!"
Lan Linxue and Jun Yannuo shouted at the same time.
