Qin Kou'er did not dodge.

The incense burner landed at her feet with a dull thud, its ash spilling across the floor and staining Qin Kou'er's embroidered shoes. However, this was only the beginning.

Teacups, flowerpots, pen holders, paperweights—anything Lan Linxue could see, he grabbed and threw at Qin Kou'er, as if he wanted to smash her to pieces with his own hands.

Things either brushed past Qin Kou'er's ears or slipped through her fingers and fell, leaving behind fragments and broken pieces, but nothing actually hurt her.

Qin Kou'er stood quietly in the middle of the ground, looking at the mess and listening to the frightening noises, enduring Lan Linxue's anger little by little.

Finally, Lan Linxue was a little tired.

There was nothing left in the house for him to vent his anger on; he even smashed the flower stand by the window into pieces.

Lan Linxue, slightly out of breath, plopped down on the edge of the bed, coldly staring at Qin Kou'er's back.

He really wanted to bite her to death!

Qin Kou'er could sense the hatred in Lan Linxue's eyes. She sighed softly, walked gently to the door, and slowly closed it under the concerned gazes of Mo Hun and the others.

Turning around, Qin Kou'er looked at Lan Linxue, her gaze softening. She walked to his side and sat down beside him, half-turned.

Lan Linxue immediately dodged!

"Who told you to sit down? Go kneel down!"

Qin Kou'er wasn't angry at all. She obediently stood up, walked to Lan Linxue, lifted her skirt, and knelt down obediently.

Lan Linxue kept a close eye on Qin Kou'er's every move. He found that the more obedient Qin Kou'er was, the angrier he became, to the point that he wanted to shake her to pieces.

"Stretch out your arm!" Every word Lan Linxue uttered was chillingly cold.

Qin Kou'er looked up at him and asked, "You really want to see?"

Lan Linxue stared coldly at Qin Kou'er, "Don't make me say it a second time!"

Qin Kou'er gazed at Lan Linxue, their eyes meeting in mid-air. One refused to plead, the other refused to yield.

Qin Kou'er straightened her back and rolled up her sleeves.

A bright red scar hadn't even been treated yet, and blood was dripping down.

Lan Linxue stared at the bloody wound, feeling as if someone had stabbed her in the heart, the pain making it hard to breathe and the hatred unbearable.

"Qin Kou'er, hello! You're so kind! You really are, really..."

Lan Linxue felt he couldn't continue speaking. Turning around, he saw the sharp sword hanging by the bed. He immediately raised his hand, drew the long sword, and placed it against Qin Kou'er's neck.

Qin Kou'er suddenly raised her head, her clear eyes looking at the man in front of her whose eyes had already turned red.

"You don't want to hear a single explanation from me?"

"Hahaha--"

Lan Linxue burst into wild laughter, laughing so hard that tears were almost falling from the corners of her eyes.

"Explanation? Qin Kou'er! Haven't I heard enough of your explanations?" With that, Lan Linxue used force, bringing the sword even closer to Qin Kou'er's skin.

"What are you trying to explain? That you weren't the one who slapped me? Or that you weren't the one who saved the assassin? Or that you didn't even know who the assassin was?"

"Yes! I'm the one who abducted the assassin!" Qin Kou'er's eyes were frank and sharp as she stared at Lan Linxue, showing no sign of backing down. "But, if I don't go today, do you think you can handle this mess in front of Lan Xiuyuan after you've caught the assassin and seen that he's Hu Feifan?"

"Hu Feifan? It's Hu Feifan!"

Lan Linxue couldn't take it anymore. She raised her sword and started slashing wildly at the gauze curtain beside her, roaring, "I knew you two were a pair of adulterers! I knew you were a fickle woman! You actually dared to openly oppose me for that bastard!"

Qin Kou'er looked at the fluttering gauze in the air, bit her lip, and glared angrily at Lan Linxue: How come he always thinks of things in that way! It's simply incomprehensible!

Lan Linxue swiftly placed the sword against Qin Kou'er's neck again, rubbing salt into the wound that hadn't healed from the previous day.

"Qin Kou'er, tell me, have you ever told me a single truth in all this time? Were your words about liking me and being with me for a very long time just to appease me? In the end, it's all for the position of Crown Princess!"

Qin Kou'er stood up abruptly, her neck brushing against Lan Linxue's sword blade, causing his hand to tremble.

Qin Kou'er looked at Lan Linxue with disbelief, her voice trembling slightly, "Lan Linxue, I thought that after the storm, even if I was hiding something from you, you would still understand my feelings! I never expected that you would doubt even this now!..."

"Shouldn't I have doubts?" Lan Linxue roared, her eyes blazing with fury.

Pointing at herself, Lan Linxue's eyes surging with grief and indignation, "I am your man! The man you love and want to marry! But today, you actually defied me and rescued him right in front of me! Tell me, what if I killed you today? What if I were shot through by a crossbow hidden in the shadows?"

Hearing Lan Linxue's words, Qin Kou'er felt a pang of regret, and her eyes softened. "I know this matter was somewhat rushed, but it's something I have to do! No matter the cost, I must rescue Hu Feifan!"

Lan Linxue was practically grinding her teeth to powder.

He suddenly moved closer to Qin Kou'er, his voice as cold as ice: "For whom? For whom must this be done?"

Qin Kou'er looked at Lan Linxue, her heart filled with unspeakable bitterness.

Seeing Qin Kou'er remain silent, Lan Linxue gave a bitter laugh. "Don't tell me it's for my sake!" Lan Linxue shook her head. "I don't need you to do this! And you definitely didn't do it for me!"
