As an ordinary person, Yang Jia always thought she lived in an ordinary world,
Until one day, she unintentionally received a part-time job...
"Number 37651, welcome to be a temporar...
The peculiarities of the game "Real" are unknown to the average person. Most ordinary players understand it as a government-developed game primarily intended to create a second world where residents can find spiritual comfort and alleviate the various social conflicts and pressures arising from population growth.
This project was developed by the governments of three major regions, each with an agency. The agency for the Greater China region was Feitian Games.
When the game first launched, many players, unfamiliar with the game world, called in or posted online to complain, raising concerns about so-called "bugs." However, Feitian Games quickly announced that the game was fully run by an intelligent mastermind, and unless there were major errors, they had no right to interfere with the system's operation. The bugs were all legitimate, and players were encouraged to abide by the game's rules.
Players initially protested, but once they fully grasped the company's inaction, no one paid any attention to them. Aside from posting on forums when encountering unusual issues, no one paid any attention to the company.
——Come to think of it, it’s not surprising that the presence of a game company is reduced to a minimum for a game that doesn’t need to be updated or undergo any subsequent development.
Despite this, Feitian Games still has many employees busy every day. Their job primarily involves monitoring and recording tens of thousands of data sets, then submitting the aggregated data to higher-ups. In reality, even the employees themselves don't know what to do with this data; the sheer volume and complexity of the data, coupled with each person's limited responsibilities, make it difficult to gain a comprehensive understanding.
After these data are recorded, they will be transmitted to a special project team in the Chinese government department, where they will be summarized, screened and analyzed to find out the truly meaningful content, and then reported to the leaders above.
This project team was directly under the jurisdiction of the Office of the First President of the Chinese Region and was not responsible to anyone other than the President. The person in charge of the project team was Tan Hao, secretary of the Chinese Region President Li Fang. He was a computer science graduate and had previously participated in the "Reality" project, which was why he was entrusted with this important task.
Every Friday afternoon, Tan Hao would send a summary of various data from the previous week to the First Head's Office and report his work results of the week to Li Fang.
The hover car stopped in the square in front of the first head of state's office on the top floor. Tan Hao got out of the car, tidied his clothes a little, then walked around the fountain in the middle of the square and walked towards the office area.
Although Tan Hao was one of President Li Fang's secretaries, he wasn't currently working in the office, so he had to wait in the reception area for notification from others to confirm Li Fang's availability before he could be invited in. However, this was just a formality; Tan Hao came every week, and the President would make time to see him, so naturally, no one would interfere.
Tan Hao quickly entered the head of state's office.
Although this was his office, Li Fang actually spent very little time there. He was required to attend numerous local events. So whenever he was here, he was mostly dealing with what seemed like an endless stream of official documents. Even when Tan Hao entered, he didn't even look up.
After waiting for a while, reading a document and making an instruction, Li Fang looked at Tan Hao.
He looked to be in his forties or fifties, though his temples were already slightly frosted. This, however, did not make him look old; instead, it added a touch of seasoned charm. Combined with his thick eyebrows, straight eyes, broad forehead, high nose, and graceful demeanor, he was an undeniably handsome man. But no matter who met him, while noting his outstanding appearance, they could not fail to notice the awe-inspiring aura that permeated him.
At least Tan Hao never dared to act rashly in front of this old boss. He bowed his head respectfully and greeted him, and only breathed a sigh of relief when Li Fang asked him to sit down.
After sitting down, Tan Hao first opened his personal terminal and transmitted the data to Li Fang. Then he began to report, "Currently, the entire project is progressing smoothly. We have successfully developed the first generation of vaccines. We are five days ahead in the Greater China region."
The project team led by Tan Hao was responsible for monitoring the data of all real-life NPCs dispatched from the Chinese region. These real-life NPCs weren't limited to the Chinese region in the game; the Americas and Europe regions also had them, albeit in much smaller numbers. However, they had no problem keeping a basic grasp of the situation.
Li Fang nodded, quickly finished reading the information brought by Tan Hao, then signed his approval on the back and sent it to Tan Hao again.
Tan Hao then discussed the upcoming work plan. The project team's work was repetitive and boring, and unless something special happened, routine reports would often end quickly. But today, after Tan Hao finished discussing the upcoming plan, he didn't stop there. Instead, he mentioned Yang Jia.
"This person's origins are unknown, yet he's managed to surpass all the geniuses from other families and come out on top. I wonder if this will have any impact. Should we take any action?"
"I know what's going on with this matter." Li Fang said.
Tan Hao quickly stood up and said, "Then I'll take my leave."
After he left, Li Fang thought for a moment and then made a phone call. Not long after, Zheng Yizhao hurried over.
"How much do you know about the girl next to Li Bai?" Li Fang did not beat around the bush, but went straight to the point.
Zheng Yizhao was startled, but quickly regained his composure.
"She's just an ordinary player. Because she was lucky enough to get a white card, Li Bai became close to her." He said, "Uncle also knows that Li Bai is not good at handling those trivial matters. He always needs someone by his side."
Li Fang nodded. "You're right. Li Bai isn't suited to these things. We sent her there before mainly because we were worried about an uncontrollable situation. With her there, there won't be any problems. But it seems there's no need for that at the moment."
"Uncle, what do you mean..." Zheng Yizhao asked carefully.
Li Fang said calmly, "You should already know about the N15 planet incident, right?"
N15 is a newly discovered nova, not far from Hope. While development work on Hope stalled, Earthlings continued to explore nearby. After all, if humanity were to overcome numerous obstacles and settle there, they would need to be fully aware of the surroundings. Such preparations should be completed in advance.
During this process, several planets were discovered where humans could temporarily reside. A large amount of minerals were detected on one of these planets: N15. The importance of this planet to Earth is self-evident. Both today's Earth and the future Hope Planet require a steady supply of mineral resources.
The most surprising thing is that N15 is a planet without life.
Compared to green planets like Hope, N15 is naturally unsuitable for human habitation. However, this also means that it doesn't require the same cautious development as Hope, fearing damage. While Hope's development will have to wait until a certain time, N15 can be mined very quickly.
The only problem is that the planet was discovered by the coalition forces of the three major regions.
To obtain the right to distribute the mineral resources on this planet, a series of brutal battles would naturally be required. On this front, after losing Li Bai, the Chinese region was not in an advantageous position.
So when Li Fang said this, Zheng Yizhao immediately understood what he meant. He wanted Li Bai to withdraw from the game and go to the N15 battlefield.
To be fair, Zheng Yizhao also felt that it was a better place for Li Bai. But he also knew that Li Bai probably didn't want to leave the game world right now. The person who understands you best in this world isn't necessarily your enemy; they could be your admirer. Zheng Yizhao harbored this thought about Li Bai, naturally paying even more attention to her. Others might not notice, but what was going on between Li Bai and Yang Jia couldn't be hidden from him.
Knowing this, he took the initiative to cover up for Li Bai in front of the Li family, making them mistakenly believe that Yang Jia was just a pawn pushed by Li Bai. Because of Li Bai's personality, not many people doubted this statement.
Yang Jia didn't understand why the Li family tolerated her presence, and even speculated that it was because she had chosen the right direction, so they held back. But in fact, a large part of the reason was Zheng Yizhao's help in the negotiations.
Zheng Yizhao didn't dare say too much in front of Li Fang, lest he reveal his flaws. He also knew that since this was Li Fang's decision, it would be difficult to change. So he nodded and said, "I've heard about it. Uncle, do you want to send Li Bai?"
"That's her battlefield." Li Fang said lightly.
Zheng Yizhao lowered his head, "But someone has to take charge of things over there."
"That girl, her name is Yang Jia, right?" Li Fang asked, "She's quite methodical in her actions. You don't need to defend them. I know Li Bai's style very well. I'm afraid these things aren't her doing. Since someone else can do it well, there's no need for her to stay."
He looked at Zheng Yizhao and said, "Of course, there must be someone to control things over there. When the time is right, these things must be under our control. Li Ze is not a good person, but I believe you will not let your uncle down."
Zheng Yizhao gritted his teeth and replied, "Yes."
He knew that what he had done could be concealed from Li Ze, but not from Li Fang, so he did not harbor any hope of success. However, when he thought of Yang Jia and Li Bai, he could not help but sigh.
Zheng Yizhao didn’t know why Li Bai chose Yang Jia, but... it had to end here.
When leaving the office area, Zheng Yizhao looked at the trees planted in nutrient troughs around the square, and all kinds of things in the game world emerged in his mind. These trees should have been rooted in the soil, but looking down from a height of hundreds of meters, he could not even see where the land was.
