Today is New Year's Day. I had New Year's Eve dinner with Xiao Li and made her favorite sweet and sour pork.

Using the method you taught me, Xiao Li ate much more than usual.

Another year has passed, and our daughter has grown into a beautiful and elegant young woman, just like you.

The few days of the Spring Festival passed quickly. Today, when I returned to the team, Lao Jiang told me that I might not be in Yangcheng this year. I heard that the higher-ups want to transfer me to Linpu. I don't know how to tell Lili yet. She will be starting high school soon, and I don't know if she can adapt to the transfer.

I was so busy I forgot everything. Lili had already finished her second mock exam. I wouldn't have known if her teacher hadn't called. I often stay overnight at the bureau and haven't seen Lili in a long time. Lili saw how busy I was and didn't tell me. I wonder how she's been doing lately. I asked the teacher when the parent-teacher conference would be, and the teacher said it wouldn't be held after the second mock exam, but after the third mock exam. After hanging up, I called Lili again and told her to remember to balance work and rest and not to put too much pressure on herself. I promised to attend the parent-teacher conference after the third mock exam.

I have always believed that our daughter is the best.

It's been raining a lot lately, and it looks like it'll be raining for a long time. I checked the weather forecast, and it seems like the days of the college entrance exam will be in the afternoon. I hope the sun comes out, and I wish Lili a good exam.

I got home very late today, and Lili was already asleep, so I didn't disturb her.

I remember when we were younger, she mentioned wanting to be a lawyer; I wonder if she still thinks that way now. I'll have a good talk with her after I'm done with this busy period…

This case has been quite tricky lately, but I think I've found a breakthrough. I plan to keep an eye on things tomorrow, and once I find the evidence, I can report it to the organization. That will basically close the case. Then I'll take a few days off to accompany Lili during her college entrance exams. It's been a long time since I've had a proper meal with Lili, and I'll make her her favorite sweet and sour pork.
