Entering the imperial palace as a candidate for imperial concubine, she becomes entan...

Chapter 51 Planning and Execution

Back in the courtyard, Geng Youran had just entered the house when she heard Xinyi speaking up for her.

"Princess, what did Consort Li mean by that? What does 'you have had similar experience' mean? Does it mean that if you have served her before, you have to serve her for the rest of your life?"

"Keep your voice down. After all these years, how come you still have such a temper that you can't help but lash out?"

Xin Yi had no choice but to shut up. Geng Youran could see that Xin Yi was unconvinced, so she comforted her:

“I know you’re standing up for me. But I don’t want to argue with Consort Li over these things; it’s not worth it. Besides, I was already planning to compile some recipes for Wanru. Now it’s all right, and I don’t have to make you and Xiao Anzi sneak around asking someone to buy ingredients for me outside the mansion.”

Seeing that her master was so open-minded, Xinyi didn't know to continue, so she nodded to show that she understood Geng Youran's thoughts.

Geng Youran smiled. Xinyi was good in every way, except that sometimes she had a temper that was hard to control. If it weren't for Xinyi being by her side all these years, she probably would have been devoured by the people in the backyard long ago.

Speaking of this, Geng Youran recalled something.

"Xinyi, where are the flowers that Master gave me last time?"

Xinyi sighed.

"Princess, do you still remember your flowers? They were autumn flowers, and they've long since withered. I've already dried them into tea."

Geng Youran awkwardly scratched the back of her head, wondering when her memory had become so bad.

"Alright, since you've already dried it into tea, then brew a pot. I'm not planning on going out this afternoon anyway."

However, there is always an element of uncertainty. As long as the event has not yet occurred, or the time has not yet come, the turning point may not be exactly as imagined.

Xinyi had just finished brewing the tea when Nianyun arrived.

Geng Youran and Xinyi exchanged a glance, wondering what kind of luck they had today, with both of their concubines taking turns looking for them.

Before the master and servant could even reach the door, Nian Yunrong had already entered with her maid.

"My sister greets Sister Geng."

Geng Youran quickly stepped forward to help him up.

"Consort, this is improper. Please get up."

As she spoke, Geng Youran helped the person to her tea table.

"These are chrysanthemums that the prince sent before the New Year. I had them dried and made into chrysanthemum tea. It has a unique flavor. Please try some."

Nian Yunrong didn't stand on ceremony, picked up her glass, took a small sip, and nodded.

"It tastes good. Sister, you really have a lot of good stuff here."

"No, no. Your Highness and his wife are so generous, allowing me to tinker in the kitchen. My courtyard is practically turning into a pastry workshop now."

Nian Yunrong covered her mouth and chuckled softly a few times.

"Sister, you're so funny. No wonder the prince likes you so much."

Upon hearing this, Geng Youran felt goosebumps rise on her skin.

Everyone in the Prince's mansion knows that the Prince's favorite person right now is Consort Nian.

Wanrong was valued because she was pregnant, but Nian Yunrong kept the prince in her courtyard entirely on her own charm.

"You've come today, Consort, surely you have something to discuss with me? Please don't stand on ceremony, just speak freely."

Nian Yunrong said shyly:

"Sister, please don't laugh at me. I've always been in poor health. I heard from the Prince that you know something about food therapy, so I thought I'd come and learn from you."

Geng Youran said with a smile:

"It's not as good as Your Highness makes it out to be. I just use it to pass the time. Coincidentally, I have written a few health-preserving prescriptions for my sister Niohuru. If you don't mind, you can take a look."

She then asked Xinyi to find the content she had compiled a few days ago and hand it to Nian Yunrong.

Nian Yunrong usually enjoys reading poetry and songs, and is not interested in food-related topics. However, her maid Qingxi found it quite interesting after glancing at it.

The two then talked about recipes for dietary therapy, Niu Hulu's pregnancy, and their daily preferences.

In short, after Nian Yunrong left, Geng Youran lay on the table, not wanting to look up anymore; her mind was just too tired.

These people are all so petty and scheming; you have to guess what they're saying, it's exhausting.

When Xinyi saw Geng Youran's appearance, she felt that her princess had behaved quite well today, which was completely different from her usual carefree and silly demeanor.

When Nian Yunrong returned to her courtyard, she began to laugh at Geng Youran's 'naivety'.

Then she became serious and asked:

"Qingxi, did you see what was written on the screen just now?"

"I've remembered it all."

"That's good. Since they've offered us this opportunity, we can't let it go to waste."

While they were talking, Nian Yunrong asked the nanny next to her to take out a few silver notes from a small box.

"Just have our people go out and buy what you need. Keep the rest of the money for yourself."

"Consort Xie."

While everyone was focused on Niohuru Wanru's belly, the person in question was resting in bed.

As time went by, her pregnancy became more and more obvious.

For example, she suffers from morning sickness and can't eat anything. Now she doesn't even have the strength to stand up.

“Princess, it’s not good for you not to eat anything. Please eat something.”

Niu Hulu covered his mouth and nose and said to the oriole:

"Take it away, I don't even want to smell it now."

Huang Li sighed and had no choice but to take the food away. On her way back, she suddenly remembered that Geng Gege had given her master some osmanthus honey, and thought it would be good to use it to make some water for a drink.
