Foolish Game of the Gods

I have two principles as a human being:

1. Never lie.

2. Never believe anything anyone says, including myself.

“Sir, I must point out that your second principle contradicts the ...

Chapter 1339 [Chaos] Final Edict

[Prosperity] When it dies, the void is filled with verdant branches;

[Annihilation] Upon death, the power to destroy the world is concentrated in one corner.

What a spectacular scene it would be when Chaos dies.

No, it wasn't spectacular, and the scene was too abstract.

The surging power of chaos overflowed, filling the entire void like steam from an exploding oven. Everything in the void then turned into abstract symbols, which began to tremble chaotically in this space.

[Memory] The collection has turned into a pure white circle, and the three mortals have turned into scattered points of light. Even the fishbone hall of [Death] has not been spared. Small skulls are like particles, colliding and separating, merging and disintegrating, each drawing an irregular trajectory curve at different nodes.

Only a gigantic skull remained standing in the center of this void, the eerie green flames in its eyes long since replaced by collapsing yellow mist, and the stark white of the bone surface now stained with a kaleidoscope of colors.

Absurd and abstract, comical and distorted.

Fortunately, this situation did not last long. Soon, the gods who came upon hearing the commotion dispelled the "resentment" of [Chaos] and restored peace to the void. They looked at [Death] and then at the player standing in the [Memory] archive, and immediately realized that the self-destruction of [Chaos] might once again be related to this clown.

How many gods have died because of him?

Cheng Shi remained unmoved under the gazes of the gods, but Li Wufang was not. He swallowed hard, quietly retreated, and hid behind Cheng Shi, gritting his teeth and asking in a trembling voice:

"I knew it would be like this! Sure enough, [Order], no, [Chaos] also perished."

But boss, he seems to have you in his heart...

Before the words were finished, [justice (order)] arrived.

A streak of starlight flashed by, and then the darkness of the void faded completely.

The gods and humans present were once again drawn into a dazzling starry sky by the luminous scales. Witnessed by the orderly stars, Justice (Order) gazed upon Cheng Shi and uttered a resounding voice of Order that commanded the respect of the entire universe:

"I have come in accordance with the final decree, and will..."

He paused for a rare moment, but still revealed His true identity.

"...I entrust the divine authority of the [Chaos] to...you...to inherit."

The light from the scales poured down on Cheng Shi amidst the astonished gazes of the gods, but at that moment, the boss of [Death] swung his scythe, severing the light and blocking Cheng Shi's path.

The massive skull regained its chilling aura of death, looked at Justice (Order), and solemnly shook its head, saying:

"[Fairness (Order)]!"

You should know that once his identity is established and corrupted by faith, the world will lose all hope.

Let alone order!

I urge you to think thrice before you act.

The aura surrounding the Scales of Light tightened, stars flashed incessantly, and the power of [Order] began to spread. It looked down upon [Death] and hummed:

"The Convention is inviolable, and so is its final edict."

"It is precisely because I know his identity that he must succeed me as the master of [Chaos]!"

As he spoke, countless streams of light bypassed the scythe of [Death] and converged on Cheng Shi once again. This was the scene of the final decree being executed. In this starry sky, the [Covenant] was stronger than everything, so no matter how strong or resistant [Death] was, it could not violate the rules of the [Covenant], nor could it refuse the judgment of [Justice (Order)].

The giant skull's face was extremely grim. Having learned from Cheng Shi that everything had ended in a false guise, it never wanted the universe to collapse like this. But no one could have predicted that [Chaos] would awaken at this moment and deliver the most fatal blow to the world.

Where is the fraud?

Where is time?

Where are the phobes?

If we don't resist now, are we just going to watch the world lose its answers and collapse?

No!

[Death] The boss was enraged. A green flame powerful enough to burn through the universe burst forth from His scythe, arriving in front of Cheng Shi almost at the same time as the stream of light. He severed the stream of light once again, but was mercilessly bound to the spot by the [Covenant] in the next second, with no divine power to help him anymore.

The giant skull struggled in anger, but could only watch as the light poured down on Cheng Shi for the third time.

But at that moment, the starry sky fell silent.

It wasn't that the gods were speechless; it was pure silence!

[Silence] arrived, and He returned, descending before Cheng Shi.

The instant the Leaky Realm Silent Puppet descended, even the stars ceased to twinkle, and the scales constructed of flowing light were directly smeared with a layer of ink, silently dragged into the surrounding darkness.

The resounding call of "Order" abruptly ceased, the final edict seemingly interrupted...

Okay?

No!

Not at all!

The Covenant is above all else and cannot be violated. This is the covenant signed by the gods. This covenant brings together the power of the gods. Although it is to protect divine authority, it also locks the gods under the rules of the Covenant.

The gods of today are more like agents of the divine authority of the "Covenant." Once their will conflicts with the "Covenant," then sorry, your divine power may no longer belong to you.

The Covenant will not seize the authority of the gods, but it can temporarily suppress them!

[Justice (Order)] remained as rigid as ever. Using the power granted to Him by this starry sky, He reversed the silence, freezing this usually motionless puppet of the leaky realm completely in this void.

At the same time, the stream of light bypassed the two gods and finally arrived in front of Cheng Shi.

Cheng Shi's expression was solemn as he looked at the starlight that was about to bestow its light upon him. He pursed his lips, as if he had made up his mind, and silently opened his arms.
