I have two principles as a human being:
1. Never lie.
2. Never believe anything anyone says, including myself.
“Sir, I must point out that your second principle contradicts the fi...
The Void, a gathering place for clowns.
The return of Mi Lao Zhang did not elicit any reaction from the clowns. They had long known that the tomb keeper would return, so Mi Lao Zhang's appearance was just as uneventful as his previous absence.
But Zhang Jizu himself was somewhat unsettled, because he had just heard from the Dragon King the whole story of the blood transfusion plan and the news of Zhen Xin becoming a god.
With Zhen Xin's succession to the [chaotic] situation now a foregone conclusion, the tomb keeper faces two problems:
Firstly, will I inherit the throne of my benefactor? And what will happen when I die?
Secondly, who will inherit the throne of [Deception]?
Zhang Jizu was the one among the clowns who knew best why [Fraud] couldn't be inherited by Cheng Shi. He originally thought Zhen Xin would take over the position of [Fraud], but now it seems... things have changed?
He looked at the Dragon King with a puzzled expression, but saw that Li Jingming did not seem to be bothered by the question.
Zhang Jizu narrowed his eyes: "Someone has been chosen?"
Li Jingming smiled slightly and remained silent.
Zhang Jizu nodded thoughtfully, understanding. The fact that the Dragon King was unwilling to speak indicated that something behind it might involve the secrets of certain people. And the secret that a clown would treat so seriously was undoubtedly someone who was also a clown.
But who could it be?
The Doctor is definitely out of the question; only he can fill the vacancy on the throne of [Truth]. Cheng Shi can't fill it either. And if we exclude himself, then it seems that only...
Longjing tea?
Zhang Jizu looked at the acrobat in astonishment.
He didn't mean to belittle Longjing. Chairman Gong has indeed gone far on the path of "deception," but the question is, does his will truly align with the will of "deception"?
One manipulates the world from behind the scenes, while the other is eager to step onto the stage and show himself. Although both of them are lying, not all lies are the same.
However, the focus of today's gathering is indeed Chairman Gong.
At this moment, Chairman Gong, who had been abandoned halfway through his audience with [deception] and gained nothing, was angrily denouncing Zhen Xin for her disloyalty.
He felt that if he had known earlier that Zhen Xin had inherited the throne of Chaos, he would have had more room to maneuver and could have fooled those liars at the audience even more.
In response, Zhen Xin snorted and scoffed:
"Even if I didn't tell you, couldn't you just make it up?"
"If you've already lied, what's the point of talking about being truthful?"
"?"
Longjing was stunned; he felt he was being questioned!
What's most infuriating is that questioning it seems to be justified...
Yeah, why don't I dare to make it bigger? Why is my perspective limited to playing the fool... Is it because I only see the actual process of playing the fool, so I can only come up with this one idea?
Longjing tea, you must learn to innovate! Copying others' ideas will lead nowhere!
At this moment, Longjing became "self-isolated" again. He clearly felt that he had been quite glorious in deceiving so many swindlers at the audience, but once he returned to the role of the clown, he became the one with the least imagination.
Whether it's Zhen Xin or Cheng Shi, these gifted individuals always seem to take a little further down the path of deception than I do.
Thinking of this, Longjing looked around with a complicated expression, then comforted herself:
At least the Dragon King, Old Zhang, and the Doctor are a bit worse than me, but they're not the worst among the clowns... right?
The three people whose gazes swept over Chairman Gong seemed to sense the emotional fluctuations within him, and they all revealed knowing smiles.
They didn't reveal anything, but continued to ponder their own thoughts.
Soon, the convener arrived.
As soon as Cheng Shi entered the tomb complex, he looked up at the Tomb of Deception, which hung high in the air and illuminated the gathering place of clowns, his expression complicated.
Upon seeing this, Zhen Xin immediately asked, "What exactly happened?"
"He has left."
Cheng Shi's answer was concise yet ambiguous, making it difficult to judge at first glance.
Fortunately, there was some Longjing tea on site. Unaware of the situation, Chairman Gong immediately launched into a series of three questions:
Who left?
Fraud?
Where did He go?
The question "Where did you go?" immediately jolted Zhen Xin awake. She raised an eyebrow and immediately guessed that the self-destruction might have been a fake death to escape.
As for where [Fraud] went... at this point, it can still run around aimlessly, so it has nowhere else to go but the real universe.
Zhen Xin looked at Cheng Shi meaningfully, seeking affirmation, but Cheng Shi did not respond. He seemed unwilling to waste too much time on this matter and went straight to the point, talking about the plan to solve the problem.
However, in the conversations among scammers, sometimes not responding is already a response. Zhen Xin understood that Cheng was trying his best to cover up the matter, so she stopped asking and listened silently.
"The current plan, which involves a lot of solutions, has far exceeded my initial expectations."
I want to explain all of this clearly...
He looked at the Dragon King, nodded in acknowledgment, and said, "I may need the Dragon King's help to retrieve this memory so that everyone can have a look at it."
I thought it was just an accident, a trap set by the future, that my future self was caught up in some trouble and was thus assassinated.
But as I learned more about the truth of the universe, about Cheng Dashi, about the torchbearers, about Su Yida... I realized I was wrong.
Perhaps the sorcerer I met at the beginning wasn't surnamed Su, but rather...
Cheng Shi looked at Longjing with a complicated expression, then met the gaze of the acrobat and said, "...Long."
That's right, Longjing, I've most likely met you long ago, even before the Yongren Society.
